Matt is fantastic! Recently purchased an older home and needed some electrical upgrades. For the first job, Matt installed the wiring for a Nest thermostat and turned our outside receptacles into GFCI certified ones. Price was very reasonable. Second job was installing a new ceiling light upstairs. He said the old wiring in the ceiling and the switches was something he had never seen in his 25 years of electrical work! We hired him to move an electrical box for us, and to check/replace a few outlets. There are many things we can do ourselves, but electrical work is definitely NOT one of them. He showed up on time, did a fantastic and efficient job, and his pricing was incredibly reasonable. Since then, he's been back a couple of times to either check out new issues, or just give us advice on how to handle things on our own. I'm pretty sure Matt is tired of hearing from us by now but you would never know it. He is very friendly, patient, and doesn't treat you like an idiot who has no idea what you're doing. He is also very fair with his rates. No complaints at all! We have been incredibly satisfied with Matt's work and I highly recommend him for your electrical and carpentry needs. I am guilty of reading many Yelp reviews but never writing any, so here goes! Our condo's heat and a/c were coming on at the same time and it was driving us crazy. We contacted SEVERAL heating/cooling contractors and couldn't get anyone to even come look at it. Finally we contacted Absolute Home Comfort via their Website, received a return call and scheduled an appointment. The soonest opening was 2 weeks out but still we were grateful to get someone to finally help us! Brendan came out this morning, diagnosed the issue, and gave us some recommendations for the future around servicing our heating and cooling units. He was very friendly and resourceful. I called up AHC to install a downdraft for our cooktop after our regular HVAC guy became a flake. They were quick to call me back and came out to do an estimate at no charge. Brendan was very helpful and informative and their price was in line with other estimates we received. He came to do the job and was quick, clean, and even offered up a solution that cleaned up the ceiling in our basement. He called to let me know he was on his way (much appreciated) and would be there in 30 minutes as promised. As a first time homebuyer the appointments with contractors can be daunting and half of them never show up even with an appt! Not true for this company and would def recommend them again. I had an unusual HVAC noise and called several places. Most don't work on all electric systems, so after talking to Matt on the phone who answered all 100 of my questions I felt really good about having them out. Brendan arrived when they said he would and got right to work looking at the system. He said my noise wasn't worrisome and explained in detail the cause of the noise. He recommended a cleaning of my unit in the summer time. I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need and I believe that is due to their $50 service call fee. They are getting paid for their time (and developing a customer) and therefore don't need to talk you into services you don't really actually need. From that perspective $50 is a bargain! I'd definitely recommend them and use them in the future. read more

Despite the 12 inch storm last night, Joe from Absolute Home Comfort came out to my house, on a Saturday, and were very pleasant to work with. They fixed a burst pipe in my radiant heat system and did another minor job on the fly as well. Good guys, didn't feel like they were trying to put the screws to me. While my initial rating would have been much higher, the follow-up I received from Ken and Sarah was absolutely hideous. I called Absolute this past winter when our furnace stopped blowing hot air. Ken was sent out and fixed the problem...temporarily. The second time we called, Ken did a much better job of actually diagnosing the problem and fixed it properly. I had requested a quote to replace the entire furnace unit - no doubt a tedious job. Ken made it sound that they could do the job no problem. Then, I never heard back from him. I called and spoke to Sarah who assured me I would hear from Ken. I never did. If you can't or don't want the job, tell me. Don't just leave me hanging. That is the absolute worst type of customer service you can deliver, especially when you have someone with money in hand. Communication is easy. Someone should have called me back. read more

So I emailed and asked about it, but they said it will take another few days. Waited again, and asked them again, still told me to wait. It's been over a months, but I still haven't heard back. 6 stars! Absolute Home Comfort was an ideal experience. My wife and I are new homeowners, and we inherited a faulty heating system (one zone was always on even with the thermostat off) and water damage from 3 separate leaks. Absolute home comfort diagnosed and fixed all our issues with great care on an aggressive schedule for a very competitive price. Matt first came over to fix my heat, and I knew I would like him immediately. He was super friendly, and he patiently and enthusiastically showed me (a dumb new home owner) how my heating system works. One of our heat zones was constantly running even though the rest were working fine. Matt correctly diagnosed and fixed the issue (leaky check valve). While he was here, he diagnosed our leaky roof. Our insurance assessor could not figure out where the leaks were coming from, but Matt figured it out in 20 minutes! Turns out we had two leaks in opposite sides of the house, plus a leaking shower floor. Matt and his team repaired the leaks and all the water damage in all 3 rooms. These guys work hard (I get tired just watching them), and they do great work. And they were really flexible on schedule, which was great since it was during the winter holidays. All my interactions with Matt and the crew were pleasant and productive. He was super helpful at explaining things, giving us options, and clearly explaining all price implications. He really understood our price restrictions, and he worked hard to give us the best deal for our budget. AHC didn't just repair our home, but they left me with a much better understanding of my house overall. Brendan is a great salesman and will put you at ease and feel confident in their work. I had a really big home renovation and wanted to hire them because they promised to be able to pull many pieces together and communicate well. They also promised to be on the job every day until the job was done. Alas, they were at my house about as consistently as the Easter Bunny. Often I wouldn't hear from them from one or two weeks at a go, Brendan's phone "wasn't working" so often I think he must have used it for a hammer. Some of their work was quality, and some was shoddy. Halfway through the job they fired half their workforce, including the only guy who would show up to work on my house semi-reliably. Many months and many thousands of dollars later, I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. read more

Scheduled a service call for a broken central A/C system. Brendan came out and determined that the problem was with the condenser, which is on the roof. He didnt have a ladder the right size to access it so had to come back the next day. He came back, examined the condenser, and said it needed a new part that he would have to pick up or order. Before leaving to get the part he tried to sell me on replacing the condenser in its entirety at an estimated cost of $2500. When I opted to just replace the broken part, he left and said he would possibly come back that night to replace the part, or would call me if the part had to be ordered. Didn't hear from him that night and had to text him for an update. He said that the store didn't have the part and since the order went in late that it might not make the morning truck but that he would let me know asap in the morning. Sure enough, no word from him the next day. I called him and got voice mail He texted me back saying that Monday was a possibility (it was Friday and scheduled to be in the 90s all weekend) but he couldn't guarantee it and that I should try to find someone else and that he "wouldn't charge me even though I agreed to pay for the service call". Ha! Pay for what? He didn't fix the problem AND wasted about 5 hours of my time. Definitely avoid this company at all costs! read more

Let me say, I couldn't wait to write this review. I originally wanted to use this company to do a kitchen remodel and I didn't because the cabinet manufacturer wouldn't warranty the product if someone else installed the product. Needless to say the manufacturer and installation service have been a pain in my side. I am so mad at myself for not sticking to my guns and using Matt in the first place. I had so much of an issue with the other company that Matt had to come in and do some of the work anyway. Even though I had to pay additional money for their services, which I did not intend because the previous company said they could do work they were not licensed to do, Matt and his team did exceptional work. They did it in one day and were able to pull the necessary permits to do the work. I couldn't have been happier. I wish I had used them from the beginning.
