It's been a couple of years since I reviewed Dr Putterman, but my experience over the last few…read moreweeks makes me want to reiterate how amazingly generous, kind, and dedicated he is to his career and his patients. I missed an annual exam, and had to wait til my next period of eligibility. When I went to schedule the new exam and get new contacts a few weeks ago (i usually buy a couple years' worth) we discovered that my scrip had actually expired! Despite this, Dr Putterman gave me a free pair to last me until my exam this morning. This morning: first of all, i got stuck in traffic and called to let them know I'd be 10 minutes late-- they didn't mind at all! Then Dr. P took me back the very MINUTE i walked in! the exam revealed that my scrip had changed somewhat and that I now require a slightly larger contact lens for my right eye. Because he did not have any of the new scrip lenses on hand, he ordered me a TRIAL lens and then gave me another free pair of contacts in my old scrip to last me until the trial lens comes in. Did I mention that the only thing I had to pay for was the visit?!?!? The best thing about Dr Putterman and his office is that they are friendly, happy people who make a visit seem almost fun. The nurses laugh and joke with you, (and give great recommendations for lunch) and Dr. P remembers you and the personal details you may (even incidentally) share with him. I just wish I could find a dentist who was like him.

I live in roxborough and prefer to support local independent businesses…read more Prior to my initial visit to Dr. Putterman's office I used another local independent eye doctor (whom I won't mention here.) Although I have written a review on that doc as well (1 star) You can easily access a business upon first entering its doors and facing the staff. Dr. Putterman's staff is efficient, professional and very personable. You can tell Dr. Putterman runs a tight ship and the office is clean, well lit and organized. Unlike the previous office I used to go to (did I mention I gave that place 1 star) You get the sense Dr. Putterman is dedicated to his profession and his patients. His energy and enthusiasm is infectious and it passes on to his staff. He fitted me with less expensive yet better contacts then I had with my previous doc and he also broke down my benefits which enabled me to add a funky pair of frames. As a small business owner It is more important than ever to encourage support towards local small business. Mediocrity, sameness and plain vanilla is what you settle for when you support large corporations. Dr. Putterman comes highly recommended.

I've been coming here for a couple years now and my favorite optometrist has been Dr. Chad Edmonds!…read moreI've only had to come for standard eye exams and contact fittings, but I appreciated that when we were talking about my work and lifestyle Dr. Edmonds was even able to make suggestions about what settings to use on the computer to promote more blinking (helps with dry eyes). He went above and beyond by even doing the cost comparison for me when I was considering two contact brands, the manufacturer's rebates, and their in-office promotions. I also love that this practice has the option to text their staff, I do find that to be easier than calling because their phone lines are often quite busy. When it was time to order my contacts I had the option to order through the site Dr. Contact Lens or through them directly to save an additional 15% off. I've been a happy customer here and would recommend it!

My daughter was referred to this practice for vision therapy, the doctor was fantastic but the…read morebilling department and front desk staff was horrible. They did not return our phone calls, they do not answer their phone, they were unable to answer our questions when we did finally get a person on the phone, did not mail a doctor letter of medical necessity to our insurance company and did not inform us that our insurance was not covering the therapy. We ended up with months of unpaid bills that we didn't know we were responsible for. We are happy with the doctor but the billing and admin parts of the practice are a nightmare to deal with. We will not be going back to the practice and we have informed the neurologist that recommended the practice about our horrible experience.

This provider engages in unethical/fraudulent billing practice to try to extract more money from…read morecustomers. I took my daughter to them for an eye infection treatment. They prescribed medication for her and asked me whether I wanted to schedule a follow-up appointment. I told them that I would call later if I need to schedule a second appointment. Three month later, I was shocked to receive a bill for a cancelled second appointment which occurred one week after the first appointment. I called the provider and told them that I never scheduled a second appointment. They said that I made one according to their records. I reiterated that was not true and mentioned that I did not receive any card, email reminder or sms about any such appointment. They insisted that that I told the receptionist "yes" when she asked me whether I need to schedule a second appointment and that she made one for a week later. I told them that I refuse to pay for a missed second appointment that I never made and told them that I will share my experience on social media so other customers won't fall into the same trap. It is a shame that this provider tries to extort money from customers using unethical/fraudulent billing practices without providing any evidence. I will NEVER go to this provider again and plan to report them to the Better Business Bureau.

You could not reschedule me for over a month. My appointment is next week. On Friday, September 26 I received a phone call to schedule an appointment. I needed to call you office, leave a message, and wait for a phone call to make sure my appointment, again, was not canceled. While I was on the phone verifying my appointment was not canceled. the person HUNG UP ON ME. This is very unprofessional. I wanted to ask her if I could opt out of the phone calls to schedule an appointment.
