That being said, ROW DTLA is a dreamscape when it comes to filming content and just catching city vibes in a safe space. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. Good for a short stay or half a day, if you're looking for things to do in LA proper, ROW DTLA is worth your drive.

You've got all the essentials like Target, Sephora, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, and even Gold's Gym just in case you want to fit in a quick workout after shopping. The food options are definitely something I need to check out. I haven't tried most of them yet, but there's a solid variety that's definitely on my list like Morton's The Steakhouse, New Moon, Mighty Bowl, George's Greek Grill, and Indus by Saffron. Theres plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. My go-to sweet treat is always CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice for their delicious house milk tea with sago!! I also appreciate that it's consistently well-maintained and that security is always visibly patrolling, which definitely adds peace of mind since DTLA can get hectic. Plus they also have a parking structure, not 100% sure if they validate though or how much it costs.

It's the kind of selection that makes teenagers feel like they have options -- whether they want to shop, browse, or just look around for inspiration. Even the food court has a great variety, with choices that fit different tastes and budgets, which makes it easy for teens to grab something quick while hanging out with friends. That variety gives the whole place a sense of value, because you don't have to spend a lot to enjoy yourself, and you can always find something that fits your mood. I also noticed how many areas were perfect for taking photos, especially around the outdoor walkways and colorful walls. Teenagers were stopping to take pictures in front of different backdrops, and it made me realize how much creativity the mall encourages. It's actually interesting to see a diverse crowd hang out here compared to back then when it was nothing but Korean people. The first floor retains most of the stores that existed back then too; Music Plaza which always had an insane selection of Korean music, the quaint coffee shop near the food court, the stationary store and bookstore near the elevator and of course the Food Court itself. Has the best prices of all sorts of Korean cuisine out there; I always gravitate towards the Dddukgook (Rice Cake Soup). The H-Mart used to be the mall's own market (called Plaza Market). I was a small kid back then, but it's quite congested as a grown adult over 6 foot tall. The layout is exactly the same from back then and I love it. There used to be a very tiny bakery next to the H-Mart on the left, but they have a much larger bakery on the right. The decor is still that same 80s-esque pink and teal tile, which I hope they never change. The second floor used to have this toy store that used to sell all sorts of Power Rangers and Pokemon toys. I miss it dearly, albeit I believe it was very overpriced back then lol. I believe it's the mail store now. The third floor used to have this appliance/electronics store called "ABC Plaza". It had literally everything from USA albums, Korean appliances, and a whole section for Japanese import games. As a kid it felt like paradise. I believe it's now turning into a gym, which is cool in itself. My wife bought me some Pokemon cards from that toy store near the food court, and it reactivated all my memories. Then as we entered I noticed it was mainly all Korean stores that we passed by. The place does look old and a little ran down. And the elevators wasn't working when we was there. We had to use the escalators since we parked upstairs but didn't even kno that lol. We passed by a Korean skincare stand that looked really popular or maybe they had an event cus it was a line of girls. We went to another store that sold needohs and squeeezy squishes but they was way too fuckin overpriced and tbh I couldn't tell if they was the legit real ones or not so passed on that. Then the food court was probably the best part of the mall that we explored besides H-mart. I went to use the restroom there and it didn't look too clean. The food court had so many different little eateries I wanted to try them out but we was already going to a noodle place after. Took photos of two cool murals on the walk from the parking lot to Aratani theater. I honestly love it when cities have murals in their downtown areas. It brightens up otherwise dingy sad looking walls and makes it a more welcoming space.
