Stylist: Vivian & Kevin. Peer pressure tipping along with a horrible service. I chose this salon because of previous positive experiences, but this visit was highly disappointing. My bf sister (17) and I were quoted $300 and $280 for our services, but upon arrival, the prices were raised to $320 each, with an unclear explanation from the manager. Despite this, I trusted them with a larger service involving a haircut and balayage. I explained my desired cut to both the manager and stylist Kevin, emphasizing layers and a shorter front. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was uneven, slanted, and not what I asked for. When I pointed out the issues, Kevin initially asked me to wait until he finished eating before making adjustments. Even after "fixing" it, the haircut was still slanted and shorter than I wanted. To make matters worse, I felt uncomfortable and disrespected during checkout. I tipped $10 despite my dissatisfaction, only to overhear the stylist complaining to the manager in another language about the tip amount while I was standing right there. The manager then attempted to shame me by comparing my tip to someone else's $80 tip and lecturing me about tipping etiquette, which I found highly inappropriate. I left feeling disrespected, unhappy with my haircut, and disheartened by the unprofessional behavior. I expected better from a salon I previously trusted, and trusted with a family member. My boyfriend's sister was in tears over her hair color, leaving completely disappointed with both the haircut and the color. During my session, I even got up to ensure her stylist, Vivian, wouldn't leave her blonde, with the manager also reassuring us. Despite being so unhappy with the service overall, she still decided to tip $10 instead of the $25 she originally planned to give the stylist. As we were leaving, the manager told her she also needed to tip the person who washed her hair, which made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. Out of peer pressure and discomfort, she ended up tipping $10 to the person who only washed her hair. We left feeling disappointed and eager to get out of the building as quickly as possible. We encouraged her to return to the salon to have this issue fixed immediately since we spent over 600 dollars but was too uncomfortable to even go back. Requested style: 2 Balayage with 2 haircuts. So I came back today for a haircut and Kevin wasn't available so I got another hairdresser to do my haircut. I was asked if I wanted straight cut or round cut and I said straight cut. I feel like I did not get a straight cut and I had to ask multiple times to straighten the sides out and it looked really uneven. Then I asked to cut my split ends but try to keep the length and she asked if this length was ok, I said maybe a little less? but then she already cut a part of my hair to show me. So I basically got no choice. And then she gave me layers in my hime cut which i didn't ask for, and then she flat ironed my hair and this is the worst part because she doesn't know how to use a flat iron clearly if you can see the photo. also after she laughed at my haircut and said cute but it was very obvious she thought otherwise. then i got home and tried to fix it and my bangs are clearly uneven and now i have to fix it myself. why did i even come to the salon??? i dont think ill come back. read more

I've been here quite a few times. This review is for today. Today, we did a toner/dying my entire head back to natural to fix all my bleaching or hair. That costs $90. I also did a special shampoo + oil conditioner to attempt to heal my hair. That was $20 - I was charged $110 and I got a great head massage and I was in an out with a full blow out in 2 hours! If I was to compare my experience & pricing here..., I am paying $15 more but I am at a much cleaner salon, using better products. I am also fully taken care of and every detailed is explained to me as they do my hair and I am not rushed in and out. Parking is a plenty on Bell Blvd with meter. I did let them know my meter time and they helped me keep track so I didn't run over. read more

I got my hair blown out and straightened and the hair dresser did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. All the time included wait to be served, wash and blow dry, and the conversation about how i need a proper haircut and they couldn't deliver. Oh and I stand there 2 mins for their broken cashier. He is extremely talented in what he does and you can tell he generally wants to give you something that you like and that suits you as well. He is also honest which I really appreciated - we both knew my hair was in bad condition. Nonetheless he worked his magic and my hair feels SO healthy. I can't stop touching it. Kevin took his time to make sure everything was perfect. I'll be back here again, and yes, it's a 2 hour drive for me!!!!! I have extreme trust issues when it comes to doing ANYTHING to my hair solely because I've been let down over and over, paying for a haircut nowhere near how I described what I wanted -- until I met Vivian!! Naturally, it was just time for my yearly haircut but this time I wanted to do something different and do a nice highlight. I used to go here for hair styling for weddings and Kevin cut my hair once and did a decent job so I decided to go back for color and cut but made the appointment with Vivian, solely based off of reviews and seeing pictures of her work. Kevin has been cutting my hair for a year now and I am sticking with him because he actually listens to what I want and is great at cutting layers. Please stay away from this place. I went in for a body wave for my daughter and possibly a keratin treatment for myself. Kevin quoted me $120 for my daughter's perm. He said a keratin would be $280 or $360 depending on the treatment I chose. I decided not to do the keratin treatment but for the rest of the time I was at the salon, Kevin kept pushing me to do the keratin, showing me videos and pictures and continually lowering the price (lunar new year special, he said) to a rock bottom $220. I said no thanks. It was very uncomfortable. When my daughter was done, her hair was moderately wavy. Although it didn't look anything like the pictures we showed him, we left satisfied that she had some waves. I tipped Kevin and the shampoo guy generously. When we returned home, the waves had loosened; a few hours later, it loosened even more (see first 2 pics). The day after, it was only slightly wavy (3rd pic). After washing on the 3rd day as Kevin instructed, all the waves were gone and her hair was rougher and frizzier than before the perm (4th pic). I brought her back to the salon the following week to show Kevin. I requested a refund for her perm ($120) because her hair was in worse condition and appearance than before I brought her to his salon. He refused, rolling his eyes at me and raising his voice. He offered to redo her hair and I declined, seriously afraid of the further damage he would cause. I genuinely regret coming to this salon. Upon further examining their licenses, it turns out they are licensed in cosmetology only. They are not color specialists or understand the chemical processing of hair. The shampoo guy that colored my hair has a temporary license that is soon expiring. Please look for another salon. There are better options in the area. read more

I went to this salon not knowing what to expect except for the excellent reviews for Vivian. The person who took my appt was extremely nice. Then I got to the appointment and met Vivian who also works with Coco. Vivian and Coco were so courteous, nice and very knowledgeable. Vivian educated me on what is good or not for my hair texture and health. I'm sure she could've made more money by doing as I asked but she refused to do it citing that it would further ruin my hair. She and Coco worked on my hair a minimum of.4 hours meticulously tending to me to ensure everything turned out great which it did. She also gave me a free deep treatment and haircut! This salon from the owners and stylists are awesome! Cannot recommend more!! I am glad I took a chance on them a I will make sure I never go anywhere else from now on. read more

I've colored my hair for years and I've stayed loyal to my usual hairstylist, but due to COVID-19 I didn't want to make a trip into the city. Conveniently one of my friends told me about Vivian and how great she is with color. She really is the queen of color!! She was extremely professional and thorough about asking about my hair color history and how it would affect the final results. She did have to order my color since I told her ahead of time that I wanted to be strawberry blonde and the salon was out of stock.
