Rob, Barb, and Star were helpful, accommodating, knowledgeable, and just absolutely friendly. The island is definitely a different way of life, and from my first inquiry via email, months before our stay, they were communicative and upfront about everything. There were no surprises, and honestly, that just made it so much easier for my expectations to be so far exceeded!!! They greeted us at the pier when we landed and, driving us to the inn in a golf cart, gave us a quick tour with some history of the island and places to check out - it gave us a chance to get immediately familiar with our surroundings. The room itself was clean, well air conditioned for the summer heat and equipped with just the loveliest treat and thoughtful card for our anniversary - their neighbor makes these adorable (and delicious cakes) with her own farm fresh eggs!! Barb and Rob have really thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable? Forgot bug spray? They have it! Need some extra water to beat the heat? They have it? Need breakfast in the morning or a quick snack? You betcha, they have it. The beauty is that they really treat you like family and help you out with the little odds and ends. There is no "nickel and diming," which is just rare in this day and age. In addition to the accommodations, they offer golf carts to rent by the day, or bikes -- but seriously, if you aren't motoring around on a golf cart, you are doing it wrong They have beach chairs if you need them, I think blankets too, a campfire ring where they do s'mores and watch the sunset on the weekends and I know they have plans to keep expanding their offerings! I would be remiss not to mention the Mayor's tour, which they can arrange for you. Sounds odd, and my husband was skeptical when I told him, but IT IS WORTH IT! We learned so much just talking to James (I think they call him Ooker or something, but I can't spell it sooo... James it is) and taking a tour of his restored crab shack. It was a unique and rewarding experience, and since he doesn't have a website, this is where I am posting my review of that too All-in-all though, we had a fantastic time disconnecting and chilling on "Island Time" with the team at Brigadune! I 100% want to go back! (Full disclosure - the flies can be really bad. It is a low-lying island, but zipping around on a bike or hanging out on the water in a kayak or by the piers seems to help. Also, they were really bad for us the first day, but when the wind changed, they just disappeared! So you just never know, but be prepared and don't let it ruin this really unique experience!)

The Service: While we were in the process of booking our rooms, Barb was the POC, and she was incredibly helpful with providing information regarding pricing, accommodations, rentals and activities to do on the Island. Barb and her staff (Star and Chris) were very nice and accommodating for our needs and the process of booking the room was easy and straight. Special shoutout to Star and Chris for being super nice and friendly to all the guests! They really made our stay enjoyable! The Room: The room we got was incredibly nice. Very nicely decorated with the beach aesthetic. Very clean and spotless from the bed area to the bathroom. The bedding was also very comfortable to lay on. They also have a rollout bed as well, if needed. A Plus: On Saturdays, they do a bonfire for the guests at night, and it is an absolutely fun experience. Highly recommend staying for that if you can. We could not get good reception on our phones however a nice overnight stay, we went during the winter. I see so many great experiences when it gets warmer such as kayaking, beach, fishing, etc. We even got a nice going away gift. I would highly recommend for a couples get away.

The rooms are absolutely the best in the area and worth the money. I love the Margaret Brent room. The owners are there to help and the Inn Is filled with all kinds of photos and artwork from their world travels. There is not a country that they haven't visited! Rooms are large, oversized bathrooms and very comfortable bed. Would definitely return. Great area to relax and unwind or fish. Delicious home cooked breakfast and wifi was included as well as easy parking.

To get to Smith Island you need a ferry from the town of Crisfield. Would recommend the Island Belle II. A good size boat where you won't feel the waves too much. Once on the island only a few restaurants were open. Most were closed by 4pm. We made sure to purchase everything we would need to cook and drink before boarding the ferry. Staying in this gorgeous and serene house definitely elevated our small girl's trip. The house is newly renovated and tastefully decorated. We found it super clean with all the amenities we would need for making coffee, cooking/baking, washing our clothes. There were bikes available to peruse the island. There were 4 bedrooms total each nicely decorated with their own bathrooms. One of the bedrooms upstairs was a master suite with its own private bath and personal balcony. The bedrooms were all cozy and comfortable. The biggest draw for me was the wraparound porch on the 1st and 2nd floor gifting us with beautiful views of Chesapeake Bay as well as sunsets. Betty Tyler, the owner, was very personable and would answer our questions. She facilitated the delivery of steamed crabs one night for our dinner. Overall, a perfect location if you need a quarantine getaway on the East coast.

The rooms were clean and spacious with large spacious bathrooms as well. Our room had a 3 perspective view- the water, Main Street, and the mansion. The owner is very nice, accommodating, and easy to work with. The driveway was spacious and safe, and it's in a prime location by the water and near the end of a very tiny Main Street. Walk a couple buildings down to The Crazy Crab for a sunset dinner over the water, and then to the ice cream place literally across the little street for ice cream. Breakfast is delicious and served in-room. The ferry to Tangier Island (the reason we needed to stay overnight in Reedville) is a 10 minute drive. So ideal!!!

My boy loved the boat ride over, and just about every second of it except for leaving. Allen took us fishing and we caught Rockfish (my sons first Rock), Drum, and trout. Dory made us homemade pizza and a wonderful breakfast with eggs and scrapple. The photo's and memories we made will be with us forever even though we were only there for a night. If you want to experience true Smith Island living for a little while this is where to go and the right people to be with. If you haven't been to Smith Island read up on it a little ahead so you know what to expect, time stands still here but that is the entire point of going. Ask a lot of questions and learn, your hosts will be proud and happy to talk to you about the Island We are already planning a trip back in the spring!

Everyone on the Island both at Ewell and Tylerton were so warm and welcoming. I've never experienced anything like this before. I was there for the 4th of July weekend and it experienced a bit of Americana with the kids parading in their decorated bikes and the adults in the golf carts. Dory made sure that I enjoyed all the festivities taking place on the island. She is definitely the hostess with the mostest.

Modern but still captured the old coastal feel. It was super musty and smelled like it. There was a dehumidifier but it was so small, in two nights we actually had to dump the water bucket 4 times. And if we left all day, we came back to a damp room. I'm not sure what causes that - we live in a super humid area and don't have the same issue, but maybe a larger humidifier would help. The breakfasts were fantastic - you can order anything off their restaurant menu. I didn't have anything bad, everything was super fresh and came in huge portions. I do wish they had an espresso machine but the coffee was okay. Check out was also a breeze. This isn't a luxury location, my main complaint was the price for it feels steep, but it's one of the only spots in the area which is probably why they can charge so much. Overall, a great stay and I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again.

The rooms are well decorated and nice little food treats are left in the room in addition to little treats/amenities at night. Housekeeping was very good and friendly. All staff were welcoming. There is ample parking, which is nice. It's absolutely fantastic that they are dog friendly. Although the restaurants' china, silver, glassware, etc., are lovely and the food is presented in a beautiful manner, the food is average at best. That real downside to our stay. Even the drinks were not that great. How can you not brew good iced tea or make a decent daiquiri? We weren't told, but found the morning coffee and tea bar. Again lovely, but the water was never hot for the tea. Another disappointment is that they have a dedicated room to make things. Supposedly there's even a clay workshop. We were there in July, i'm assuming that is in-season for them, and there were no activities. That was very poor. I would've paid to do some kind of activity, but nothing was available. It was threatening to rain on and off, so it would've been nice to have something to do. It was too iffy to plan outdoor activities. Most resorts have some sort of activity, even if it's just a gratis yoga class/lecture/activity. There was nothing. Mind you, you really are in the middle of nowhere. There's nothing around to do. There is some kind of waterpark for young folks. I'm assuming that was open, not an adult activity. On top of it all, in the surrounding cities, most restaurants were closed on Sunday; Monday almost everything was closed; Tuesday even restaurants and shops are closed. This is in the summer? I wish I was warned about that!

There was plenty of dock space available, and the restaurant was practically empty, which made the experience even more disappointing. We used to visit The Tides regularly by boat, but it seems those days are over. I understand businesses have policies, but this one feels like it will discourage spontaneous visits from local boaters and could end up costing them a lot of business.
