Chicken burrito
Yurie H.

Very filling and dank this place has bomb Indian food. Maast is located in a small plaza with 5-6 other shops. The restaurant itself is small with few seating. You can order at kiosk or the register. They have various bowls, wraps, and curry dishes. I got the chicken burrito with tandoori sauce hubby got the lamb with malai. ($17-$20 a burrito) The burrito is huge and packed. Chicken was a bit dry but the tandoori sauce had a perfect kick for mild space. My hubbys burrito is rich with lots of flavor, Overall solid place if you want a huge meal. Would love to try the wraps my next visit!

There's so much customization options, i caused a line trying to decide what I can fit in my stomach in one visit. I want to get one of everything and then two of anything else. With all your veggie add ons, tofu and paneer. Why, thank you, I thought you'd never ask! This is also the perfect kind of food that holds up great the next day. Big chunky samosas with lip-sweating mint chutney that I can't get enough of. Thick fried dough and fistful of filling. I'm hungry again just thinking about it even though there's still leftovers sitting in front of me. But those burritos though.. those burritos. Talk about substantial. If I wasn't already into men, I'd propose to the lady who took our order.

Finally some authentic Indian food in LA!! They have the best butter chicken ever!! and that 65 Sauce on the chicken wings is godly. Family-owned Indian Fusion restaurant where the team treats you like one of their own. I am coming back here and bringing my indian friends too!

I'm actually very surprised this place have such high ratings...maybe because people haven't had many authentic Indian food or there's just not many options around. The food was not authentic and tasted very catered to the Western palate. I got the chicken tikka curry bowl and it was very watered down, more creamy than the thick flavorful curries I've had before. The chicken itself also was not very tender, and not many pieces either. You do get a side of the flatbread which was actually good in flavor, but would be better if it was more textured with layers. I do see many people give high reviews for their burritos rather than the curry bowls, so maybe I'll have to give them a try again.

Parathadilla

I eat at Maast Indian every month because I love the food so much! I had been ordering their burritos, but have since branched out to try the munchwrap, their version of a Crunchwrap with an Indian twist, and their parathadilla, parathas with your choice of filling, sauce and cheese. I think the parathadilla might be my favorite. You get two parathas per order and they are very tasty and filling. I usually get chicken as my filling, but the spinach with paneer is now my new fave. You can customize your heat level - from very mild to x hot. I'm a spice wimp so I get medium. My husband likes it spicy and gets his orders (burritos and curries) hot. The curries come with rice and a paratha (which reheats quite nicely). Parking in the lot.

One of the best Indian fast food restaurant! You'll meet the owner, Nathan at the counter and his son is the chef. His daughter designed the place. It's a lovely family affair and you can taste the love in their food. Traditional food with modern twist on ordering. You can "build it" by choosing burrito, crunch wrap, parathadilla (quesadilla) or grilled sandwich, then pick your protein, and filling (curry, korma, etc). There are traditional curry bowls like tikka masala, street bites like samosas, masala stir fry rice, Mac and cheese, house salad. We ordered: -Build it: I got a butter chicken burrito. It's a regular tortilla filled with cheese, tomatoes, onion, rice, lettuce, chicken masala. I liked that the tortilla was thin to be able to taste the filling. It was delicious. It was so big that I split 3 meals out of it. -chicken tikka masala curry bowl: Finally a place the loves up to their spice level. We asked for level hot and it was legit hot! Very flavorful with lots of spice. Came with Paratha which is similar to naan but thinner and made with a mix of white and brown flour. -Popadams- crispy lentil crackers -samosas: 3 pieces, fresh, stuffed with masala potato and pea. Came with tamarind chutney. We also bought cilantro chutney. We enjoyed everything we tasted. A second location will be opening in Fullerton. Catering options. Plenty of parking in this lot. It's next door to Rooster and Rice.

Tandoori chicken burrito
Lawrence M.

I tried the popular tandoori chicken burrito and it was deceivingly filling but delicious! I asked for mild spice and it had just the right amount of kick. I was slightly disappointed with the masala chips as they barely filled the bag (see picture). All of this food for $19 was quite expensive but it was a decent try. I only waited maybe 5 minutes for my food and parking was easy.

The owner here is super sweet and nice. He saw that I was standing there waiting for my friends and told me to have a seat while waiting even though I hadn't ordered yet. He also asked if I had any questions about the menu which was really considerate of him. This is a very casual place where you can order on the tablet or at the counter. I like that there was a tablet to order from. Parathadilla: 8/10. The paratha used as the quesadilla was so good. I loved the texture of it and how it was simultaneously soft and crispy. I got the chicken which was good, but didn't fit the texture of the paratha. I think the chicken would be really good in a different item, like the crunch wrap. Loaded tots: 7.5/10. I liked the loaded tots but think plain tots were better because all the sauce makes the tots a bit soggy which is expected. Regular tots: 8.5/10. Really good. They did a good job of making it crispy. Overall, would come back here. The prices are very reasonable, the food is good and unique, and the owner is wonderful. Next time, I would try a different curry in a crunch wrap. Parking is super easy. It's a small lot but not a super busy plaza.

butter chicken Burrito

Food was so delicious. Had to get the curry and rice for a sense of traditionalism. It came with perfectly crispy but fluffy naan. The burrito was my favorite. All the best flavors in a satisfying way to enjoy. Owners were so sweet. They offered us complimentary dessert after finding out it was our first time! Not too busy when I came, plenty of seating.

What a fun place to try a new style of Indian food! Ordered takeout. Everything was still great by the time we got home, with the exception of the munchwrap. Came on a weekday after placing an online order, not as busy. What we got: - Butter Chicken Grilled Sandwich (5/5): Really get this you guys! The bread was toasted perfectly and was complemented by the various sauces/chutney with the butter chicken. It may initially seem like a smaller sandwich, but trust me it is not. - Paneer Munchwrap (4/5): Basically an Indian tacobell crunchwrap. Only downside is that the "crunchy" bit was not as crunchy when we got back. In fact, it was a little on the soggy side. - Masala Queso Fries (5/5): All the sauces went so well with the fries. No notes, so good. - Chole Samosa Chat (4/5): Only wished that there was more yogurt because then the ratio of the different flavors was off. - Paratha PIzza (5/5): Got this for our kiddo, but you know what this was also a good snack! I forget how flaky/crispy paratha is. Overall, love what they have to offer and want to try all that they have!

Never had an Indian burrito, but thought it was a great concept, so I stopped by Maast for lunch on Friday and I can't wait to go back! Service was super helpful and friendly, providing lots of recommendations because it was my first visit. Ended up picking the butter chicken and it was absolutely scrumptious, exploding with flavor and saucy goodness. It was almost like a soup dumpling where I was a sucking up the soup juices in that first bite, haha. Ambiance is casual. Can't wait to come back!

Ambiance- clean spot with cute decor. They even have a real changing table Service - friendly and fast. Food - plenty of food and choices and great portion size. Got the bhel..crunchwrap like taco bell but better with roti and your choice of filling. I got paneer and spinach. I also got a salty Lassi. Prices were reasonable too and kids menu too. Love the inso fusion idea.

Super fun on the inside. I got a chicken 65 burrito with masala fries. Fries were ok but def not the best masala fries I've had before. The chicken 65 burrito was really saucy but i think i should've tried the tandoori or korma.

We had the tikka masala, and Lamb biryani.

One detail I loved was the screen playing old-school Indian movies in the background. It adds a layer of nostalgia to the experience that's hard to describe, almost like the feeling you get watching classic black-and-white films. The food does take a little while to come out, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Service is friendly. Samosa Chaat (9/10) - An explosion of flavours. I loved that they leave larger chunks of samosa throughout the dish instead of turning it into one giant mashed potato bowl. Great texture and balance. Dahi Puri (8/10) - Refreshing, slightly spicy, sweet, and savuory all at once. Plus, it's a fun dish to eat. Lamb Curry (7.5/10) - The meat was tender and the curry itself was rich and flavuorful. Butter Chicken (8.5/10) - Packed with flavor and hands down the best butter chicken I've had in Orange County. My only complaint is that the portion wasn't bigger. This review is for their online ordering…read more This is my first impression of Mint. I live in Irvine and always eat at Southern Spice, Clay Pot or Natraj when I crave Indian food. However this time I thought I would try something different. So I ordered online with Mint. All the pictures and reviews were decent so why not? Well I should've stuck with my OG's because this was not it. I ordered x2 buttered chicken that was in a very small container (see photo attached) for $20 EACH! Garlic Naan that was $5, Mango Lassi also $5 and Gelato. First, if you guys are paying $20 for a small tiny container of butter chicken in LH please please do yourself a favor and go try Southern Spice. Their flavors are mouthwatering and the portion is huge. I understand inflation but this is ridiculous and the flavor is blah. It's like there is no spices in there at all just butter and tomato sauce AND the kicker...no rice! Super weird to me that they do not automatically give you rice! Like who just orders butter chicken or any Indian,Chinese, Korean dish for that matter without rice! I mean rice has to cost you guys a pretty small fraction no? Just give people 1/2c of rice! If not, at least you should make note of that on your menu so people know ahead of ordering. The garlic Naan is decent really no complaints there, the Mango Lassi they gave me was the size of a kiddy cup (see photo) Literally a child's sippy cup is bigger than what I received for $5 insane! And just to make matters worse, when I opened by bag they placed my gelato directly on top of the hot food! So when I took it out, it had completely melted. $10 for melted pistachio creamy soup, just what I wanted. You guys have to do better for your customers. I get the price increases but for what you are giving and the immense amount of lack of flavors...is wild. Save your money, drive a little bit further and eat some true Indian food in Irvine/Tustin cause this place is not it. The pictures posted are truly beautiful but pictures are not everything especially when it comes to food quality and flavor. I am only giving two stars bc the Mango Lassi and Garlic Naan were decent tasting.

The Chicken 65 was prepared with the exact right amount of spice--perfectly balanced and making me wonder what happened to chickens 1 through 64. The Dahl was fantastic, but the absolute showstopper was the Biryani. Take it from someone who has spent time working in Hyderabad: this is the real deal, highly reminiscent of the city's absolute finest. We finished things off with the Shahi Tukda, which was so incredibly rich and tasty it probably needs its own tax bracket. Beyond the food, the logistics are a breeze. It's right off El Toro Road with ample parking (a true Southern California miracle). They also offer catering if you want to be the hero of your next event.
