    Mr Beef Brisket sandwich

I ordered the brisket sandwich. It was flippin' delicious Maddy was my server/ bartender. She was so sweet. Answered all of my questions. I asked to have an additional order take out. I asked to have it wrapped a specific way since it was going into a cooler while I'm traveling. She was so accommodating. I highly recommend this place but be sure to sit with Maddy. *Takeout Review* Food: 5/5 Hidden Gem in West Chester. This is my first time visiting Mabel's with my girlfriend, but not the first time I've had Soul Food. With that being said, it is definitely one of the BEST Soul food places I have ever visited. With that being said the restaurant isn't big, only has 2 or 3 sit down tables. But that will not stop us from going again, was not expecting a 5 star looking restaurant went there for delicious food and that's exactly what we got. Service was prompt, we ordered 20 minutes ahead for pick up and it was ready by the time we arrived, in and out in less than 2 minutes. You get 2 sides with your entree, also very reasonably priced (Considering the portion of food you get). Not to mention it is ABSOLUTELY Amazing. Everything is seasoned and flavorful. What we ordered: 1/2 Ribs Fried Whiting Fish Sides 1: Green beans, sweet potato. Sides 2: Collard greens, potato salad. Highly recommended.

The people who work here are very nice but I wasn't the biggest fan of their food. The Mac n Cheese was so peppery that it was of putting. The breading for the wings were okay but the meat was under the dry side. They had a good coleslaw. I wish the ribs had some kind of smokiness element to them but they were just okay.

We stopped by on a Sunday after a visit to Linvilla. The availability of menu items were limited because they were also catering an event off-site. I had the ribs, my husband had catfish and brisket sandwiches. We shared the sides: collard greens, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and potato salad. Everything was delicious. Great portions for the prices. Service was good. They didn't have any drinks because of the catering event but allowed us to bring in sodas we purchased from Wawa.

Mabel's Barbeque is 5 stars across the board. My co-worker and I stumbled on this small restaurant as we were getting coffee in the morning and remembered to come back for lunch. Menus are posted on the wall and you pay after you consume your food. The owner greeted us and asked us if we enjoyed the food afterwards and engaged us in conversation and provided some history on the establishment. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a piece of cornbread, and a water. The total was around $12. The cornbread was massive measuring around 3"x3"x3". It was absolutely delicious and moist. The pulled pork was bare with bbq sauce on the side. This as well was cooked to perfection. The sauce was my spicy, but added a perfect touch of sweet to the sandwich. This is the best bbq I have had in awhile. I am saddened I don't live closer or I would be a frequent customer. The inside is clean and homey. It is on the smaller side with a few tables, but your eyes start to burn a bit as I don't think the exhaust was on in the kitchen. We stayed for about 35 minutes and my eyes started to feel the irritation about 20 minutes in. It wasn't too bad, but was still there. I think it was just a matter of not putting the exhaust on. Food and service was amazing!

The dinner was delicious as always. My daughter requested that we enter this restaurant as our go to place for soul food. I had the chicken wing dinner with Mac & cheese / greens...baby girl had fried whiting fish with mAc & cheese /greens! The family staff were inviting and warm. If you happen to be in West Chester, treat yourself to some good ole Soul food at this establishment.

Perfect fried chicken. Sides are great, too. My new favorite: fried pickles with baked beans.

The ones we had in Hawaii had a spicy kick at the end. These were comparably good. One flavor all around. No spicy after kick. The Kalua Pork and Cabbage was spicier than what we had at Hawaii. It actually tasted better. They added ginger and it was spicy. I liked the Taiwanese cabbage better than what we had in Hawaii, which was regular cabbage. The ribeye steak ramen was good as well. It makes me want to try the rib eye entree. I like the black pepper flavor. I took the steak out as soon as it served, so it would not cook anymore in the broth. I was impressed that they made it medium rare. The chicken broth was not too salty, which it can be in other places, so I was pleased that it wasn't. The menma bamboo was crunchy. Many places have it too soft. The black seaweed/wood ear like topping was also crunchy. The wavy ramen noodles were perfectly QQ or all dente. There were two doors to open at the entrance. Handicap accessible. No steps. Two gender neutral restrooms. Spacious. Handicap accessible. We found street parking right out front. We came at 7 PM on a Monday after the dinner rush. Our server was very attentive. He also answered all my questions. I asked it they were Pulehu Ribs. When he did not know, he went to ask his colleague. I would come back for the same dishes, get a bigger order of the short ribs, and try the garlic shrimp. Definitely a new staple for us. Before going to Hawaii, we never had Hawaiian food before. This was a good way to revisit our vacation!

We definitely over-ordered but told plenty home for leftovers. For appetizers we ordered the pork belly bao buns and the Thai salad with shrimp. These are more entree size so be forewarned. The bao buns came in a taco server and had three buns filled with plenty of pork and a spicy aioli. The Thai salad came with 5 nicely charred shrimp and a Napa salad. This ate a little dry-I would have appreciated a bit more dressing- but I can see where more dressing might have made this a bit soggy. We would definitely order these again For entrees, we tried the burger and the chicken pot pie. The burger was a double patty with cheese, pickled onion, and a mayo based sauce on a sesame bun. I have to say I was happy to see that they opted out of the usual sad lettuce and anemic tomato that is typical of early spring. I think it was lacking some salt as it was missing something but overall was ok and served with crispy shoestring fries. The pot pie was topped with some puffed pastry and had a nice velvety sauce with hints of tarragon. Very nice. My dining partner finished my burger and took most of the pot pie and the side salad that came with it home. Even though my dining partner couldn't finish his regular entree, he wanted dessert. After looking at the choices the server suggested the seasonal dessert which was beignets with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries. I was reticent but was happy with the choice because the chocolate dipping sauce (of which there was plenty ) was DELICIOUS! The beignets were fried puff pastry or croissant dough that one dipped in the warm chocolate fudge-y ganache and/or whipped cream. I ordered coffee which paired well with the dessert and it was delightfully fresh. Service was good, friendly and attentive. Decor is industrial farmhouse. Clientele consists of workers from the local courthouse up to about 6 pm when we saw families starting to file in. Nice place, good food, good value.

We were finally able to stop in after a movie and ordered few items for takeout. There's also indoor dining available, but the seats are limited. The restaurant itself feels very unique, comfortable and there's definitely a hint of history showing. What we ordered: -Beef Patty (Delicious, very fresh and flavorful) -Vegetable Patty (Delicious, very fresh and flavorful. The taste reminds me very much of a Grandma's home cooked Chicken potpie) -Jerk Chicken platter (Very good and delicious. With the exception of cabbage, it had no flavor, could use some salt and pepper at least) -Curry Chicken platter (Very good and delicious, same issue with the cabbage) Keep in mind the patty's can take up to 30 minutes to make and cook, I didn't mind it they are well worth the wait. a MUST HAVE.
