After the free diagnosis/evaluation, they had an $275 starting service fee on top of the $1800 they said it would cost to fix the damages and recover my files. AND it would be another $88 for them to provide a replacement hard drive. Talk about some serious over charging and hidden fees. This was not something I could afford and after some time, they did offer to give me a discount but at that point I was very uncomfortable with the whole situation.

Data Doctors is staffed by very nice guys. They are friendly and are quick to offer to fix your…read moredrive. Here's the catch. They take your drive and charge $140 to "check it out." Then they send it off to a repair center in Arizona. Be prepared for a wait of up to three weeks from start to finish. Once your drive is gone, you will get a call telling you the fee to get your drive back. My quote was for another $1200 which was a shocker. Once the drive has been shipped off, you are sort of stuck. If you want a faster turnaround, you might also call TaylorMark or one of the other data recovery centers in Dallas. I talked to three different persons at the national center for Data Doctors and they explained that they replaced the heads on the drive. Once they did this, the drive booted right up. All of the data was there. There was no data recovery involved...$1400 total cost seemed pretty high. After posting a negative review on Yelp, an executive from Data Doctors called me and agreed to refund 1/2 of the fee AND he promised to ship my drive back overnight...this was on a Monday. My drive was returned on Friday...not overnight as promised. Next time I will use a recovery service in Dallas.

Kevin was methodical and diligent about isolating my computer glitch and then fixing it. His patience and methodology even amazed me as after 2+ days of continual experimentation, Steven texted me and game me good news. If you have a problem with your computer, give PC ICU a chance. I did and if I ever have another issue, I know where to find them.
