Due to some damage to my car, I was needing an estimate. I called around to see how quickly and…read moreeasily I can get an estimate or two. Homewood auto body does not require an appointment to get an estimate. I was really appreciative of that fact and flexibility. When I arrived a little after four and walked into the office, a friendly man named Hubert greeted me and asked me how he could help me. . He immediately went out and assessed my vehicle and within 10 minutes or so I was on my way with a printed document for the repair estimate. Super convenient. Friendly people. And the parking lot was packed so that tells me a lot about the work they do and the reputation they have. Besides, their wall is full of accolades for who they are as a business!

I am highly dissatisfied with the service I received from Homewood Autobody Specialist. I requested…read morean estimate to have the entire exterior body work completed on my car. I was quoted and paid $9,897 in cash under the clear impression that this covered the full job. When I picked up my car, it still had scratches and an entire unfinished patch on the roof. When I brought this up, I was told those areas "were not included in the estimate." This explanation is unacceptable. For nearly $10,000, no customer should walk away with visible, unaddressed damage--especially when I was upfront about wanting the complete body work done. I am hurt and extremely upset and feel as if my money was waisted I had to take another vehicle of mine to classic collision which is were my insurance referred me to 0 issues and they sent me daily updates and pictures of what the were doing so if you would like a better option then Classic Collision is were you should go Although the staff at homewood auto was polite, professionalism goes beyond manners. It means delivering what was promised and standing behind your work. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. I will not return to this business, nor will I recommend them to others. Customers deserve better accountability and integrity than what I experienced. AND AS I STATED IF I ASKED YOU TO DO THE ENTIRE OUTER BODY OF THE CAR AND YOU FAIL TO INCLUDE IT IN THE ORIGINAL ESTAMINET KNOWING THAT I DONT CLEARLY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE WRITING SHOW POOR PERFORMANCE THAT IS YOU JOB BUT NO WORRIES I TOOK IT TO CLASSIC COLLISION AND THEY ARE CURRENTLY CORRECTING ALL THE INSSUE HERE IS YOUR WARNING DO NOT GO HER EVER!!! THEY ARE VERY POLITE BUT THE WORK ITSELF IS HORRIFIC!!!

This is my experience with Brown's. I had damage on the front end of my Rav4 -broken pice of grill…read moreand some paint scrapped off from a chunk of ice that hit my car on the expressway from an 18 wheeler, and had backed into another car in my driveway which caused a small dent in the back door. I went to Brown's during lunch for an estimate. That was probably a mistake because I think I interrupted the estimator's lunch. I tried to introduce myself to him and shake his hand as he tried to walk past me in the lobby, as he blasted by me asking me which car it was, he finally offered up 3 of his fingers to shake my hand. Not a good start. The estimate to replace the broken section of grill and repaint the scrape on the roof was $2,100.00. The estimator explained it is a 3 step process and really expensive to paint. The scrap on the roof is about 3 inches long and an inch wide. Only the paint is missing, there are no dents. The estimate to repair the small dent in the back door was $2,500.00. The guy doing the estimate said the entire door had to be replaced. The Rav4 emblems all the way to the interior panels of the door. WTH?? I tried to tell him that the door worked fine, there was no alignment problems, no scratches in the paint, it was only a dent on one part of the door, but he said the Rav4 was a terrible design and it all had to be replaced. All the interior parts that hold the sprare tire were busted. But I tried to explain there is no noise...indicating broken parts, there is no problem opening or closing the door. Nope he said poor design, it all has to be replaced. I asked him that I would take the tire cover off and the tire, would I see the damage. Yep he said. He never offered to remove them himself to verify. When I got home, I removed them both. There was no visual damage. I went to another shop, they are bumping out the back door for less than $500.00 and replacing the grill and painting for $350.00. They removed the cover and tire and saw there was no other damage. So, instead of paying $4,600.00, the bill is less than $850.00. I can't help but wonder if I had been a man, the guy would have listened to me and tried to do a little more diligence in estimating the work, or if I didn't come during lunch. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this shop.

I've (unfortunately) needed to visit a body shop here in Tuscaloosa more than once, but Brown's…read moremade it a simple experience both times around. My 2014 Honda Accord Coupe was rear-ended on McFarland back in 2017, and I was recently backed into while parked in town. They were able to work with both parties' insurance companies easily and took the care to do the best work and not rush anything through. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. I certainly recommend them.
