Can you say, five star service? I called and asked if they had fleshpot lipstick available in the store and they did. I went right in. I went in with my daughter and we got immediate attention and help from Alex. Alex knew the information about every product in the store, and had some great recommendations. She also gave some freebies to my daughter. She was kind, genuine, and didn't pressure me to do anything. Honestly, the customer service here is top tier. I came in not having any clue for what I wanted. I had a lady helping me out but it was clear she was new. Whom I assume is the manager, came and took over, gave me amazing recommendations. The computer system went weird and it caused me to wait quite a while for my transaction but I was not in a rush. I have been using Mac products since the early 1990's. Today, I shopped at the Folsom store and had the best customer service ever. I didn't get the salespersons name, but he was so helpful, kind and fun. I bought more than I planned since he let me know it was 30% off today. He helped me find the perfect color for a red dress (I don't usually wear red, but have an event coming up) and gave me samples to use for my upcoming travel. I've shopped many Mac counters in the Bay Area, Nordstrom and Folsom and this was hands- down the most enjoyable and productive. I had a very poor customer service experience here last Thursday. I had booked an 11:30 appointment and was advised to arrive 10 minutes early, which I did. When I arrived at the store there was a dark haired woman working with two other customers. When it was my turn I told her I had an appointment and she looked at her watch and said well it's not quite time yet, I'll be right with you. In the meantime another employee with blonde hair came out from the back room and did not acknowledge me. Two other customers walked in the store. The woman with whom I spoke to regarding my appointment started waiting on one of those customers. She encouraged the woman to sit in a chair so she could try some products on her --knowing full well that I had an appointment and was just standing around. I got my phone out to see what time it was, and the woman who was working on the customer reiterated that she would be with me in maybe five or so minutes. This was now 27 minutes after I arrived to the store. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when the shopkeepers wouldn't give her the time of day. I ended up walking out and went to ULTA where I was immediately greeted and helped. An hour after I originally walked into MAC I received a phone call from the woman I had been speaking with. She told me no one is in the store any longer and could I come back?! Hard pass. Anyway, I HIGHLY recommend ULTA which is right across the street! I have been to several MAC stores and this is by far the BEST one I have ever been to. I love the customer service and I love every time I have gotten my make up done here. PEY and Abby are amazing make up artists and I definitely recommend them to turn your face into a masterpiece. They turned my face into a masterpiece and trust me - I DID NOT WAKE UP LIKE THIS. Also PEY recommended some nice Mac products that I would have never thought to use but I really like. For example, the strobe light cream gives you that glow that I've always wanted. Very Disappointed!! I've been buying Mac pro liner for many years. I had purchased a Pro liner but didn't use it right away because I found a 1/2 pencil in the drawer. Came time to open the pencil I bought but as I tried to apply it I found that it did Not glide on. I stretched my eyelid and kept pressing and it just didn't go on. Anyone ever using the Macpro liner knows that it should glide on. I went back to the Mac store a Palladio in Folsom and asked if I could exchange it for a new one because it was dried it out. The associate asked for my receipt which I did not have because I've used this product for years and know there's no need to return it. My mistake. She proceeded to say that there was no way that she could return it or exchange it if I did not have my receipt. I proceeded to say that this pencil was defective and dried out but she insisted she needed a receipt. I stepped aside and pulled up my bank statement on my phone and found the transaction. I showed her my statement as proof that I made a purchase at the Folsom location in which she took a heavy sigh and proceeded to say that that doesn't prove that I bought the pencil!!. Fuming at this point I said is there a manager I could speak to. She said that she was the manager. I said this is ridiculous all I want to do is exchange it for a pencil because pencil I bought was defective or dried out. She proceeded to say that she could not do it. I was in shock and disbelief. It wasn't like I wanted a refund without a receipt. Just a simple exchange. I decided to leave as it was becoming embarrassing to have this conversation about a defective product when there were customers in the store. So as I was leaving I said "This is a shame, you should back up! your products!!" Macys would Never! do this to there customers. Will not be shopping at Mac In Folsom. read more

Associates refuse to schedule appointments for make-up and tell you to walk in. When you walk in they then passive aggressively do other tasks hoping you leave. When you wait patiently and they see you aren't leaving they then ask you to come back another day and go on a cigarette break right outside. Work ethic and standards here are not up to par. My time was wasted and not once did they mention they were short staffed. The attitude of the staff was also discouraging. I hope to see improvements made by management. read more

Does anyone else notice how its more common these days for women to bring each other down and compete with one another rather than unite and lift each other up? Im all about women's empowerment and here's what that has to do with my experience at this MAC store. These days, if I step foot inside a MAC store, its usually for lipstick. People usually have a preconceived notion of how MAC girls are because of one bad experience they may have had. I wasn't expecting much from my visit, just wanted to grab some new brushes , mascara, and foundation. It was my birthday weekend and I randomly decided to get my makeup done too. Whynot? I was really getting spoiled for my birthday and when someone tells me to get whatever I want, Im going to get the whole nine yards, and then some. #treatyoself! I was greeted by Jocelyn and let me just say, her makeup skills, attentiveness, bubbly personality, and multitasking skills are amazing. She will go out of her way to not only help you, but everyone who walks in that store. Talk about goals. What's even better is how she has the ability to make you feel good about yourself. You can go from a 3 to a 7, real quick. Ladies, if you ever have a down day where you just want to look good and feel good, please go hit up Jocelyn. She's amazing. After Jocelyn did my makeup, Olivia saw that I was trying to take selfies and you know what this girl did? She brought me over to the ring light. I love this M.A.C store. The ladies who work there are so sweet and they never put pressure to buy anything (even though I can't go there without buying something). I had my eye makeup done for Valentine's Day by Haley and she not only did an amazing job but she was so sweet and fun to talk to. I was a dummy and got a massage with my husband before going out and as careful as I tried to be my makeup got a little messed up. I went back to the store and Pey happily fixed my lash that was coming unglued and touched up my makeup. They were both amazing and I highly recommend. They are my go to for most all of my makeup needs. The only downside to this store is the parking situation which can be horrible if you come during lunch or at night. read more

Customer service is usually great, however I popped in on a Friday morning about a month ago and the girl acted extremely inconvenienced by my questions. I was in the market for a new foundation other than my current Studio Tech, hoping try on something new. The associate had a phone call so she left me sitting in the chair for about 5 minutes while she talked on the phone. At this point I decided to purchase my usual Studio Tech and get out of there. I used to be pretty...I know a lot of women say that and I understand that aging is hard but it used to be my job to be pretty. I was a professional model most of my life but then I was diagnosed with cancer. I did what was necessary. Full hysterectomy, radiation, hormones. All of the change greatly affected my appearance. I have severe hyper pigmentation all over my cheeks and my skin is 20 years older then it should be. I'm lucky to be alive and that's what truly matters but deep down, I missed my old face. It got so bad that I started to avoid mirrors and even avoid people. Today I walked in to Mac and met Lisa. I explained to her that I just needed a foundation, something to hide my skin, I had an event that I had to go to and I just didn't want people asking what happened to my face. My self esteem was at an all time low but then things took a turn. I'm pretty sure Lisa is some kind of Fairy Glam Mother because with a flick of her magical makeup brush I looked in the mirror and saw the face I once had. She took 20 years off of my face in a matter of 15 minutes! She introduced me to products and how to apply them flawlessly, she gave me my smile back. She is amazing!!! I have spent so much money at Sephora and Ulta only to leave there with products that never did the trick but Lisa introduced me to a whole new world and I can say that for the first time in a very long time, I feel pretty. Either the brand has gone down hill or this is the worst Mac store on the planet. I had placed on online order and received the wrong color. I figured returning it in-store would be easiest. First day I arrived and they were closed two hours early from posted time. Second day I arrived they were closed for lunch at 2! I waited the hour in the area and attempted the return and she couldn't get an iPad to work. I came back a third time and the iPads still weren't working but they called customer service, and told me the return was done and I would get an email. A week later I still hadn't received an email I so called them and they told me to call customer service. I waited on hold forever to be told a return was not in progress. Online customer service finally processed the return when I explained what happened. I have been using other makeup brands for awhile but decided to give MAC a try again. I got my makeup done by Natalie and my mom got her makeup done by Jesse last week and the makeup was flawless and fabulous! I have had my makeup done at so many places but will not go anywhere else. If you call in advance and set up an appt, they will provide a dedicated makeup artist to do your makeup and they will not walk away to help others who are shopping - total for the dedicated service is $60 and includes FREE mascara! The store is pretty small but I had a stroller with me and they made it work so I could get my makeup done comfortably and have the stroller next to me. read more

Good customer service! Everyone was very friendly, all of the employees had great make-up. People usually are a little sour when you show up for a return but I was treated warmly. They are located in a big beautiful building facing the street but a bit smaller inside the store. I was just there at MAC to buy a Lipstick and found out only 2 girls were working and doing makeover. One welcomed me and I started to look for the lipstick I want. After couple of minutes the other girl came and asked if I was doing OK. I asked her a question and she showed me couple of products and kind of slipped away saying take a look I am helping my friend and will be right with you. Then I spend another 5 minutes and told the first girl (asian) that I am ready and get me the lipstick I wanted. She asked me to look at the stuffs on that wall and take my time :O Then spend another 10 minutes waiting for my lipstick and a group of 4/5 ladies came in and started to look at stuffs. The Asian girl was done in next 10 minutes and started to help the group that came after me and when she came closer to the drawer I was standing and said I will grab your lipstick next!!! This is very disappointing, I was first in the line waiting but i didn't get helped. I found it very unprofessional and ridiculous. We went here to get our free makeovers that they advertised outside on their sign, only to find out that they "closed." They we're supposed to be closing at 9 and we got there at 8:20 and the doors were locked. With two workers still inside. Overall highly disappointing experience and probably won't be coming back. Mac lost a very valuable customer today:( I mean honestly, who closes 40 minutes early?!! As a professional makeup business, it was very unprofessional to close 40 minutes early when every other website and the doors said they closed at 9.
