I was looking for a place to get my daughter's (6) haircut. I was supposed to have an appointment with Emily, I believe that's who cut her hair- I wouldn't know because she didn't introduce herself. She was nice enough but she cut my daughter's hair horribly. It was uneven and she didn't even use a guide, was just cutting by eye? She was also sitting the whole time as she cut it my daughter's hair. I should've looked more closely before we left, but it was cut so choppily I had to fix it myself once we got home. The people here are really really rude. No courtesy, No manners. I had purchased a Groupon for my wife and then called them to make an appointment . Since they were booked , they couldn't accommodate her in the time in which Groupon was going to expire . So, she was given an appointment at a later date and was told that my Groupon would be accepted, although it would expire by then. When she arrived there on the date of appointment we were 5 minutes late. She was talked to really rudely because of this and was told that she will not get the full service , since the "Regular Client" would have to wait. When she objected to this, she was told that she would not be given Any Service and that she was making a scene here. Why do they advertise on Groupon ??, when they have to discriminate between "Regular" vs Groupon client. I bought a Groupon for a cut, style and deep conditioning. Unfortunately due to COVID19, my original appt in March was cancelled but I was notified via phone. I called and left a message a few weeks ago when I found out that they were opening the salon again as of June 8th. I received a call back within a day and booked an appt for today. So I went in yesterday to get a bang trim (I hand long bangs and I wanted short bangs). The price was really good. I was expecting to pay around 10-15 to get it done, but bang trims are like $5. Please don't purchase the groupon. There are two options and my boyfriend got me the bigger option as a surprise gift, the $74.50 ($120 value) one which states: one haircut, style, deep conditioning, AND choice of full color or partial highlights. The stylist was very upset that I had the groupon and said that my appointment wasn't scheduled properly. She claimed that what is advertised on groupon isn't what they are actually offering. I felt very uncomfortable as if she was upset with me. Instead of receiving what was purchased (one haircut, style, deep conditioning, and full color) she only put dye in my hair then gave me a coupon to get $10 off a haircut for another appointment. As soon as the next person with a scheduled appointment arrived, I was ushered out. My hair was still WET. When my hair finally dried at home, there were a few bits of my hair that weren't dyed fully which bummed me out. Granted, I have thick hair and they used several boxes to dye it, but still. I felt like because I used the groupon and because I was a new customer that I was not valued the same as a repeat customer or someone who pays full price, and in turn was offered less quality of service. I did not once feel appreciated or like they actually wanted me there and wer happy to have my business. This was my first time getting my hair colored ever and I had been so excited because of their great reviews and I have been wanting to dye my hair for years now. I was happy and nervous to finally be doing it and it turns out that it was not a good experience at all. I would also like to mention that I am sure that it would have been a great experience had I not used Groupon, they are obviously having issues with Groupon. I had been going to the same stylist for the last 10 years, so you can imagine how nervous I was to try out someone new when I moved 6 hours away. These days I can't really afford to have a bad experience at a salon since I have extremely damaged hair from when I was a teenager and constantly bleached my hair myself. Beth did a fabulous job! And she was so considerate. I came in with a Groupon, and was a little nervous and had no idea what to expect, I had never been here before, or used a Groupon for a haircut (cut, shampoo, deep conditioning treatment, partial highlights, and style), but Beth soothed my nerves. She called me the day before my appointment to confirm and get an idea of the direction I wanted to go in, and she could tell that I had NO IDEA what I was doing so she added some time for a consultation into the appointment! My hair is curly but can be encouraged into being curly and I really wanted to lean into that, and it would be the first time for that, so Beth was launching into that journey with me. We talked AT LENGTH about my hair and what I wanted, and how we could get it to it's best potential and fit my lifestyle. She was great throughout my entire appointment, we got along great, and I am majorly indecisive so when I changed it up last second, she went with it, and it turned out great! I have gotten CONSTANT compliments on my hair, can't stop staring at myself, and my husband keeps telling me how this is the best haircut I have ever gotten. I loved how good Beth was, I even sent my husband in to get his hair done by her (full-price, no groupon) THE NEXT DAY!! And he can't stop staring at himself either!! (the picture doesn't do it justice since it was mainly noticeable in the sun, which is what i wanted.) then i later went back to him when i wanted some bits of caramels mixed in with my natural dark color hair. i could not have been happier with the way it turned out :) i will definitely be going back to him so he can lighten it more for the summer if you book an appointment with him, you will not be disappointed! read more

Firstly I would recommend as some previous reviewers have also pointed out that: "DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON FOR THIS PLACE", as they give differential treatment to "GROUPON CLIENTS VS REGULAR CLIENTS". I went to get full highlights by JR. I was shocked by how my appointment went. Everything was okay in the beginning when I was his only client there. But once another customer came, he left me to do their hair, and I was waiting with bleach in my hair for the longest time. I told JR that my head felt like it was stinging and was asking if it was okay, and he said it was normal and not to worry about it. But clearly with the flaking a couple days later.... this is not normal. It stung so much during the appointment, but I never got my hair bleached before so I didn't know what was normal or not. So I was in a lot of pain whereas he just went to take care of his other client. I wanted to tell him to wash it out but couldn't get ahold of him since he was on the other side of the salon with them. I finally got him to just take it out because I couldn't handle it anymore. I expected him to be real with me and not take my pain lightly, and not brush aside my question as if it is normal. Scalps are different, and it turns out mine is more sensitive. I contacted him later about the scalp flaking and asked for explanations. Tldr his texts sounded like it wasn't his fault and nonchalantly gave me some pointers on what to do. From a professional, I expected you to 1. Not overbook and have another customer come in in the middle of my session, if you knew it was going to take a while. You could at least ask another hair stylist to take over your next client. 2. Empathize and take blame when I describe my pain and show you my flaking days after. I have never had scalp flaking before like that, so I don't understand how it wouldn't be because of what you did. This lasted for days. read more

I thought this was great because I was able to find an appointment that fit my worK schedule. Walking in the salon I noticed that it was nice and had a friendly atmosphere. I was greeted and since I was early I was offered a beverage while I waited by several workers passing by. My stylist was Anthony. He was working with another customer when I arrived but greeted me a couple minutes early of my appointment. He was friendly and when telling him what I wanted done he was thorough and explained his process. I got a full color with a gloss treatment and a cut. I went from a light brown to a dark brown/purple. I love the way the color came out. My hair looks nice and shiny. I just got a trim but it's even and exactly what I wanted. So my hair has been FRIED from years and years and years of bleaching and then dyeing and then bleaching and then changing my mind- you catch my drift. Anyways, I finally decided I wanted it CUT and I wanted a different kind of blonde with a color melt instead of like a regular balayage that I have been getting for years. I sent Antonio like 25 million different pictures and he really didn't want to cut my hair because he could tell how indecisive I was over cutting it, but when I got there and saw it, he knew it was time to go. So, we cut off 5+ inches and my hair feels SO HEALTHY! He got it to the PERFECT shade of color that I wanted and its not too short and not too long- I am probably going to grow it back out, haha, BUT i absolutely LOVE everything about the cut and color. I recently moved to Folsom and since I am looking for a new salon here, I bought a groupon for partial highlights, haircut, style and deep conditioning treatment. I booked an appointment with Kat 1. Service for groupon buyers - Unlike many other salons, Tangled was prompt in giving appointments and gave a fair service. I am happy for that. 2. Cleanliness - I would give it a 1 on a scale of 1-10. There was hair all over the chair, workstation floor and dryer chair and floor. The hair stylist did not bother to clean it up before taking me in for a haircut or rather take me to any other work stations that were clean. When I asked her to clean the chain, she lightly cleaned it with a towel but not the floor.. It was disgusting. 3. Consultation - She was not very understanding and polite. She did not really listen to me when I was discussing hair color with her. I found her a little intimidating. And then she said that she is going to put a good color to me without actually showing me which one on the swatch. 4. Haircut - She actually did a good job with the haircut. Although, I found her haircut technique to be a little different than the other hair stylists that I've been to. She chopped my hair when it was dry. But she did a good job at it. 5.Highlights - This is where I would give her a 1 on a scale of 1-10. She did not tell me which color she was finally using during the consultation. The color turned out to be much lighter than I had expected. Also the highlights were rough and not placed correctly. There was a wide band of highlights on the face framing strands just on one side of my parting which looked awful! :( I was really disappointed with it and would have to go for another application to hide those ugly highlights. I called this morning in desperate need of a hair cut. Christine answered the phone. I explained that i only had 1/2 hour to get a hair cut. She said she could do it. I rushed in worried if this could happen in such a short time frame.... She was calm and friendly and super patient. Christine was able to wash cut and flat iron my hair in about 32 minutes....
