I was in Vegas for me and a friend's birthday and forgot to book my appointment. I called every Sephora & Mac Store out there and everyone was booked. I called in to Nordstroms and found out they had the Mac Store inside AND they had an appointment available for me on my birthday. Won't he do it?! I'm not typically one to write a lot of reviews, but I figured the guy who did my makeup several weeks ago really deserved a one up. I was in town for the weekend for my brother's wedding festivities, and his (now) hubby's MIL wanted to take me to have my makeup done prior to the events. While we waited some time to have our makeup done because they were busy, and I got pawned off by one of the other girls there, I couldn't be happier with the job that Alex (I think? I had Mischa do my makeup on 5/6 & she did amazing! I'm pretty good at doing my own makeup but like to indulge sometimes in having it done for me. It's a great value when you buy product in exchange for getting your mAkeup done, in my opinion. Anyway Mischa was amazing & friendly even though they were running behind because of Prom & she was juggling customers while trying to do my makeup as well. Not only that but I saw the poor girl get screamed at not once but twice by some rude customers & she still held her composure & did an incredible job on my makeup. I will for sure come back to her again the next time I am in Vegas & want to indulge. They all know their stuff when it comes to the products and techniques!! Even if my regular girl that I shop with isn't there, they all still take the time to make sure I still get the best service. They're all super friendly and make every experience there the best. EVERY TIME I get my makeup done here, I am always impressed and super happy with the results :) My sister and I made appointments for Friday 11/27 and called the morning of-we scheduled ours for 6pm. We actually got to the mall super early and asked if they had anyone available to do our makeup at that time. However, it was Black Friday (duh why did we even ask haha) and they were slammed. That was fine and we just walked around until 6pm. One of the MAC girls sat us down at chairs so she could tell our MUA we were ready. Kina greeted me, asked me what the occasion was and what type of look I wanted. I talked to her about my skin type and how I envisioned my makeup to be-she said "No problem," with a big smile and previewed what colors and types of products she would be using. She made sure I was okay with everything and even asked if I have a favorite MAC product that I wanted to incorporate. She started pulling product and told me that since it was Black Friday, she may have to step aside and help other customers for a bit but she would always let me know before doing so. She did end up assisting other customers but still finished my makeup under an hour. I loved my look and I hope to get my makeup done by her when I come back! Had my makeup done for New Year's Eve... It turned out fantastic, better than I expected. The artist, Destiny was so sweet and talented. I wanted to go as a pin up, and she achieved that look. I liked it so much I bought the products she used to accomplish the look. And I was surprised that it was under $100. And the makeup held up over 12 hours, still look good. I went to the mac pro store in the forum shops in Caesars palace and I was super excited because not only is Caesars a beautiful place but I had never been to a mac store before. So..I walk in and right off top there's a girl working with medium long hair and tattoos on her arms and hand and she looked at me and looked away and nd when she looked at me I smiled and said hi and she looked away then I kept looking at her like...hey? And she's like hi. Really quickly and walked away. So off top I was like Damn this is bad. Because I work in retail I work at a macs makeup counter and I freelance for mac at their counters so I know when the girls are going to be rude because they don't hunk you'll buy and lot because of ur appearance because I've heard mac girls bitch and out it before. Also this mac store is located in the forum shops in Las vegas...where they have Louis vuitton prada Henry Bendel and versace so they usually I guess see people with money or who have a lot of shopping bags. Well I was only going there to see the a store and look at the products I don't see back home cuz the pro store is so far away Anyway so now I'm looking at my favorite thing which is lipsticks and this chubby Asian girl comes over to me and says let me know if u Wana try anything on and walks away I'm like o.....kay? So after walking around the store for like 20 min just staring at shit not getting help from anyone my dad comes in and says hey and so I'm like okay I better hurry up and just choose what I want so we stand at the line where there is only 2 customers being checked out and there r like 4 mac workers just out on the floor working on selling to their customers I stood in a line of like 2 people for about 15 minutes then I walked away cuz i was like this is new be going to end. So once it's done with I went up to the counter and was standing there a way nd 2 mac girls came up and said....do u need something? I'm like yeah....I need this this this and this...like u guys r supposed to b grabbing my product I don't go grab it myself Idk where the hell u keep it. So then that happened and the bitch ringing me up with the tat on her hand and arms didn't even make eye contact with me she just glanced up and was frowning the whole time and like didn't say hardly anything to me. And my dad was standing right there he was about ready to say something because they were just being and acting so rude it was the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. I had the pleasure of having an appointment with Alex and I am so happy I had the opportunity to work with him. I am from alaska and made an appointment a week ahead to get my makeup done for a dinner date with my husband. On the day of I has to change the appointment and the employees were more than happy to accommodate. I was introduced to Alex and he is just a ray of sunshine. I have had my makeup done at about a dozen different Mac locations (I travel a lot) and Alex was the first employee to not only suggest new products but also change his initial look to please my husband (who had a few comments about a hot ombré lip) on the spot. He was polite and professional and i appreciated his conversation flexibility and skills. My face never looked better! I have worn Mac since I was 13 (so 15 years) and I think Alex gave my the perfect combo of products. He also taught me a few skills and most importantly I felt confident and ready to enjoy my dinner. I would strongly recommend seeing Alex in the fashion show mall. He is a great person and a great artist that will give you that extra boost of confidence for the rest of the day :) read more

Went to this MAC (in Nordstrom) last weekend to get my makeup done with some friends before going out. We booked early appointments (before 6pm) so there wasn't a wait. It was the first time I've ever had my makeup professionally done and I was a teensy bit nervous that I'd walk out with super dark eyebrows and makeup that didn't compliment me, but no need to worry, because my MUA was fabulous! She walked me through everything she was doing and asked for my input on all makeup choices. I came out looking (and feeling) amazing! If you go, ask for Tazia! Not sure if this is for the Macy's location or the Nordstrom one. But my review is for a girl at the Nordstrom Mac counter. I don't catch her name, maybe it started with an R? I used to live here and would visit this counter all the time and never had an issue. Well I went with my recyclables to get a free lipstick and didn't have the same wonderful experience I usually do have. She seemed new and didn't know her colors. I said I wanted something in the nude family maybe with a little coral for spring. She showed me a stand with a few nudes on it. I said I don't want matte. So the first color she picked up I tried and it looked like I had chapstick on, no color at all compared to my skin tone. The second one she gave me to try was a matte. I tried to anyway and didn't care for it. After that she asked her Co worker to help her (who was assisting another customer) and I overheard her tell her Co worker in a snarky tone that "we are very limited".... She meant our options were limited as I was being picky. Since when we are ever limited with the endless mac colors?? After that I told her I would look myself and then she told me to go to the pro store as they can assist me better. I will not be back to this Mac counter. Please give better training and have your employees treat customers a bit nicer. I ended up going to the pro store at town square and the girl picked three great colors for me!
