I visited the M·A·C Cosmetics store at Tyler Mall in Riverside and I like coming here. I have been using their makeup since college and it is my go-to stop for high-quality makeup that is professional-grade. I needed to replenish my Studio Fix Fluid Foundation for full coverage so I grabbed a bottle in my matched color. I was also looking for some eyeshadow to try and the staff/artists were knowledgeable and was able to find a shade that works with my outfit that I plan to wear for a friend's bridal shower. There were a few other shades that we tried which looked good, but I felt that the staff wanted to sell me this product which I didn't need at the time. They also offered makeup services where you can get a full glam or natural look, and the cost can go toward product purchases, which is a nice bonus. I will try that next time I come back for shopping. As for the store, I do like their specials and sales. The inside of this store is somewhat clean, sleek and modern, and filled with rows of vibrant shades that immediately catch your attention. I had a nice experience with the MUA Yaya. I went in for the recycling program for the free items before the perk is discontinued in March. I didn't expect her to help me with colors since I went into the store not to make a purchase. She was so sweet and took the time to help me. She helped me find the right color of lipstick, lipgloss, and two eyeshadow (which were the free trade-in). I ended up buying a Bronzer, which I love. The perfect kiss of sunshine. I'm sad that the recycling program for the free item is going to be gone. I think people will be less likely to bring in their empties. I'll add that her makeup was beautiful and I used her as my inspiration for the eyeshadows I was looking for. Due to a system issue I couldn't book the appointment but they let me know even as a walk-in I would still be helped. I went that Saturday at noon and again was greeted by Alex and other staff. I did wait about 20 minutes to get my makeup done but i didn't mind. (But if you're in an absolute rush on your day..Book an appointment) My MUA was Yaya and she's was amazing. I came in today and per usual MAC was just a complete disappointment. It seems that losing most of their customers is not an issue for them because they continue to hire employees with poor customer service skills. I purchased a blush during their prime day and it was terrible super chalky and the color was orange. I went to return it at a MAC by my house and they refused to return it because they were not a "free standing" MAC. It should not be this hard to return a product you don't like. The closest free standing store is an hour from me and I finally had the time today to go return it. The employee working the cashier Monique was just so rude and had such a terrible attitude for no reason. She refused to return the blush because I was one day past the 30 days. Having worked in cosmetics before I know there's always a way to make an exception or make a customer feel appreciated Monique didn't do that at all. I tried being reasonable and asked if I could at least exchange the color she told me since I bought it during their prime day I would have to pay the difference for a different color blush. She could have at least honored that but she again she has zero customer service skills. Even at Sephora and Ulta they honor the discount MAC has become the Ross of make up however so instead of treating a customer with class and trying to get them to come back they prefer for me to call the Better Business Bureau write this review and leave upset. I have been meaning to do this review but I kept forgetting to. I came in on November 24th (I believe). I really wanted to get my older sister some new makeup for her birthday. As well as she just had a newborn baby and she had not really worn makeup during her pregnancy. I went through her makeup bag and I wanted to get her a new Mac lipstick and lip liner. I went onto MAC's website and seen they will be having some great deals for Black Friday. Long story short... I was greeted by a lovely, and kind employee. Her name was Monique B. She was very helpful in easing my tension as I was kind of clueless as to what shade of lip stick and lip liner would suite my sister. I explained my sister was tan and she loved a darker lip liner and lighter lip stick shade in the middle. She showcased me some swatches and even assisted me in helping me pick out an additional blush to add to her collection. I was so amazed with her hospitality skills and just overall light energy. I was not so overwhelmed with products, but listened to what I think my sister wanted. The cherry on top of my experience was she even informed me about the gift with purchase (which was a awesome deal) . I left with a compact powder, another lipstick, another blush, and some samples of their skin care additions. Thank you Monique for being a rockstar! *Nordstrom MAC* So this morning I went Nordstrom to go to the MAC counter . I was promptly greeted by Esther. I really appreciated that it was 10:00 and she was alert, make-up flawless and ready to help me. I gave her a picture from my phone and she immediately went to work on my face. When I tell you this women beat this face up.....she beat it up! She was extremely professional and had such a lovely personality. Esther explained the products that she was using and, and ..... Get this, she wasn't pushing extra products on me to purchase knowing I wasn't going to EVER use them. I've been getting my make up done at this counter for years and they are by far the best! The employees here pay more attention to the cheap-o's getting their "complimentary makeup" done with a $50 purchase than to serve a loyal MAC customer who clearly already knows what to purchase and will be spending at least 5x that amount. They need to work on that here. Also, they ran out of Technakohl eyeliner in Graphblack--- they obviously need to learn to stock up on merchandise esp before the weekend comes!! read more

The best MAC shop I've encountered this far. Spacious, clean, and free of the snooty reps you'd find at most other MAC counters. If you purchase $50 or more, you're eligible for a free make-up session. Which I always take advantage of, because nearly any two items you select is going to reach the $50 minimum, so you may as well get your make-up done while you're there - if you have the time. I got lucky and happened to grab the nicest member there to get her help in applying the magic face... I've never done this at any other counter, but I felt a tip was well-deserved and I happened to be carrying cash, so to her it went. First, I want to say I love MAC makeup, but I Went in today for national lipstick day to turn get a free lipstick. I was there from 9:20 til almost 12 and DIDNT get a lipstick. There were so many people cutting in the line way up in the front that by the time my part of line got close a worker came out n said they ran out. It would of been better for MAC to pass out a ticket or coupon to those in line and didn't cut. I literally just walked in here with my boyfriend, trying to find a matching foundation, I stood around for about 5 minutes and I was approached by a lady with black lipstick and I asked if she could help me find the right color foundation and she looked at me with distaste and asked me, "well, do you want me to try it on you?" And her face just said it all. At that point I looked over at my boyfriend and he knew I wasn't just imagining her attitude, so I responded with, "never mind, I'll figure it out." I'm not sure if I was given attitude because I look too young to wear makeup but I guarantee you I'm well over the age to wear makeup and afford MAC products. I've been to so many MAC stores (Rancho, MoVal) before and I NEVER look forward to going in. BUT this MAC store IS THE BEST one I have ever been to and the ONLY one I'll ever go to again. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by Christina and Monica with a smile! Christina & Monica were both SO personable, sweet, approachable, & genuine. They just were so warming & welcoming! I am also not sure why this location has a lower rating either. These ladies provided excellent customer service! It literally blew my mind because I had almost given up on this brand but seeing Christina and Monica, I have realized there are still some pretty amazing people out there! This place is trash. The workers cannot be bothered with your makeup needs (which makes sense cuz it's not like I'm there to buy makeup). Also I don't understand why it would take 10 min to get something from the back. The ladies that work here seem like they don't want to be there so my advice to them would be please quit your day job and let someone who actually cares take over. By far one of the worst MAC stores I have been too! Usually they are busy and not staffed for the weekends but this place is horrible! Came in on a Sunday late afternoon to exchange my used tins for some makeup and to shop around a bit. I spied maybe three workers (2 at the registers and one on the floor) no one greeted us as we walked in, while I was checking out the blushes I usually get someone passing by to ask if I'm doing okay. No one came by at all. I turn around to see the two cashiers having coffee chat and ignoring the customers especially the ones who were standing at the registers. Fed up and needing some help I walked up to the registers and asked can I please get someone to help me, I also have these I would like to turn in. That got them moving as both girls proceed to check the other customers out then one came and helped me. Right off the bat I was told that I could only get a lipstick, gloss or eye shadow with my used containers (okay, but I was told I could get a blush as well) nope said the girl as she smacked her gum (irritating). So, as I asked some questions about updating my blush and found one I rather liked. She offered to put some on me to see how it looks. Holy Drag queen, not that heavy chicka.. As she admitted, she put on way too much and had to tone it down a bit! Listening skills are clearly not her thing! After that, all I wanted to do was get the heck out of there. Told her thank you, and that I am going to wonder around a bit to see what else I wanted. Looked at the eye shadow and decided on getting a new color, had to flag her down and get the color from her. When it was time to check out she needed an over-ride instead of excusing herself she yelled to her supervisor "Hey, I need your over-ride code." Her supervisor was busy with a customer and did not hear her. So instead of walking over as she is supposed to she just waited until some of her co-workers who came out from the back to tell them she needed help. One of them who were clearly off said I'll tell her when I walk out, 10 minutes later I have my bag and vowed to never go back to this MAC store again! read more

MAC Cosmetics is always my go to for all my makeup. I love how they go over how to use products whether it's your first time using their products or it may be a product that you haven't used before. The individual stores are nicer than say Macy's that sell their product because if you have a palate that holds eye shadows they are the only one that sells it without the individual casing (which I have yet to figure out how to get it out of the case!). This location was super nice. I was traveling and needed an extra mascara and tinted lipglass. ( If you never have tried it you have to get some. They make your lips super sexy and sultry.
