Not the worst store but also not the best... I usually just come in an out, so nothing remarkable happens. I just wanted to shout out Ulta for being a great place to get my bangs trimmed. I couldnt believe it was $10. However, one star was off because I didnt like the vibes my hair stylist was giving off. I dont know if it was because I arrived early or if it's because I existed at all (I wasnt rude), but this "Ashley" seemed like she hated her life. It made me feel bad but I nonetheless tipped 30% anyway... But amazing shoutout to the ladies wandering around the store to help. I didnt get her name, but the black girl in the perfume section with the beautiful braids was so amazing and supportive. Make up artists Satori was awesome , she helped me find some middle price range concealer as requested. She applied some samples from different brands and color palette on my skin to find the perfect shade. We settled on a brand by Tart , which till this day has been perfect . Most of the time I would have to return or exchange the products once I am at home testing the product in natural lighting . This week I came in around 2:45pm on Tuesday and upon entry I walked right to the order pick up line- because I had an order to pick up. The store was kind of busy and only one cashier with about five people in line so I didn't expect to be helped right away. But I did expect to be acknowledged which I wasn't until I began looking around for another worker to help me. Thats when the cashier asked if I had an order pickup and I said yes. She said ok be right with you. Then another worker walks up to me and asks if I have an order pick up I smile and shake my head yes because now I'm getting irritated. I look up at this large sign that says order pickup. So I'm not sure why I keep being asked if I'm here for an order pick up. I'm like why is everyone asking the same question and not helping me. They were all "nice" I'm just confused at the question. After about 7 minutes the cashier paused checking out customers to help me. But the scanner was with another worker so it took time to get that as well. I'm more bothered that the cashier had no support than I am about the wait to get my order. The customer service here is terrible. I booked for specialty braids (two Dutch braids) and called to let them know there was traffic on the freeway and I was running a little late. They said I only had a 5 min window as the girl has a 430pm appointment right behind me. I get to the store at 406 and was refused as they said I booked a specialty braid consultation for 30 mins but it would only take 30mins to braid my hair. The manager Karina was arguing with me about it instead of helping out me as a customer. Come to find out when I asked for the general manager the girl who I booked to braid my hair was working on someone since I got there at 406pm. I told the general manager so you can do that to me but I was denied service cause I was 6 mins late then told I booked the wrong service. Okay I will never shop at that store. This was, without question, the worst makeovers I've ever had. A soul crushing experience that left me having a panic attack in the parking lot. My appointment with the makeup artist was scheduled for 11:00 a.m., but she didn't even start until about 11:15. I was told it would be quick, yet somehow it still dragged on until around 12:20. She kept reassuring me it wouldn't take that long but had no mindfulness of timing. My event was at 12:30 which I ended up being late to. From the moment I sat down, the entire experience was a mess. She repeatedly turned my chair away from the mirror so I couldn't see what she was doing. That's a huge red flag, and by the end I understood why. Instead of turning me toward the mirror to reveal the finished look like every competent makeup artist does, she handed me a tiny handheld mirror and told me to curl my own lashes. I felt so terrified when I saw my face in the mirror, but she kept telling me I looked cute so I tried to believe her. My skin was horribly textured, flakey and the foundation was horribly heavy. I asked for a natural, everyday look. What I got was a thick, cakey foundation that highlighted every pore and every bit of texture on my face. The eyeliner was uneven and looked rushed. She also pressed far too hard around my eyes throughout the application, which was uncomfortable as hell and completely unnecessary. I felt like she was stroking my eyeballs. The entire appointment was filled with comments about how "cute" I looked, but confidence doesn't make up for bad technique. The makeup looked terrible. It was sloppy, heavy-handed, and nothing like what I asked for. The whole experience was shocking. She seemed really nice and overconfident. I thought I was in good hands. But now I realize that a makeup artist that doesn't involve their client in the process of figuring out what they want as a look is a red flag. Between the lateness, the lack of communication, being hidden from the mirror, and the poor quality of the makeup, this appointment was an absolute waste of my time and money. This individual ruined my special event. I was a whole hour late to my event. I sobbed in the parking lot and had a panic attack after I ended up paying for the service because I was gaslit by being told I got a cute makeover. The person that took my payment gave me a dirty look when I declined giving a tip. I walked in expecting a professional service and walked out wondering what the hell happened. I would never book with Ulta Beauty again, and I absolutely cannot recommend her. Be cautious of this locations makeovers. read more

Lousy. Reporting this company to the Better Business Bureau. Ulta pushes you to get a credit card thru Comenity Bank and then refuses to take a payment in store. I have called over and over and there is no way to make a payment without speaking to a person and giving my personal information over the phone. I have called their corporate office and asked for them to fax a copy to me: This request was denied. I called and asked to speak to a manager to email me a copy of my bill: This request was denied. I clicked a link via email to pay my bill, and they ask me for a credit card number which I do not have. Never do business with these fraudsters. Utterly disgusting!!! read more

Instead of just answering, she read my redeemable value out loud for everyone in line to hear and ended with a dismissive smile, which was really embarrassing. On top of that, she put my shampoo and conditioner in a tiny orange bag that barely fit them. I'm really disappointed. I took my daughters for tinsel. They saw it all over tik tok and wanted to try it. I reached out to a couple of people and they definitely had more than 3 strands of tinsel in their hair for $15. I went and they told me only 3 strands for $15. If I wanted more it was double so $30 for each. I really feel ripped off and taken advantage of I paid $30 for 6 beads of tinsel on each girl. Total of $60 Never going back again. To top it off the cashier asked me for a tip I told her $5, then she said what about for the service for my other daughter. Excuse me, after you ripped me off you want double the tip. When I said $5 for both she stared at me as if I was wrong. I can't believe this is acceptable. Ulta do better. Staff change? I always went out of my way to shop at the Plaza location because the customer service was better than the other locations. However, last couple times has been really bad. Today made me realize that those days are gone. Both staff I interacted with had really poor customer service skills. They seem irritated and unhappy. Sorry to give them such a bad score however the make up artist did not know how to do make up whatsoever. She first doesn't even add primer to my face. She finished within 15 mins. It looked like I could have done way better, she did not take her time what so ever. Then I realize my eyebrows are crooked and wayyyy tooo long and blocky. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND I WANT MY MONEY BACK. This experience would have been rated 5 stars if it had not been for the blunt rudeness I received while paying . The employees assisting with testing of perfumes great, make up, great. But the cashier not only did she refused to enter the info on my ulta gift card and after I asked if she needed pin for gift card she continued with " you'll have to enter it yourself!". That proceeded with grabbing receipt half placed in to the ulta bag and pushed a crossed the counter , not handed in my hand like other cashiers did with the customers ahead of me. I walked in to exchange a product for full sizes in stead of the sample size and I simply asked the manager Karina if she can honor the sale price buy one get one half off and she denied my request very rude. I purchased the same brand and it cost more then the items im exchanging it for and never asked her for a price match as she kept assuming that's what I wanted. I clarified with her i only wanted to know if she can honor the SALE? I still went ahead with my transaction. My cashier was a doll, i just feel bad that the staff have this type of management because every store will honor the sale price if it's the same brand especially if the items were not used. I had a hoodie on and just some sweats walking around browsing and killing time before I went into work and they were following me around!!! I even heard a comment saying "Mellisa is on her don't worry" and when I went to check out the same lady who said that checked me out. First and foremost communication goes a long way. Clearly this location is short staffed and I understand that but when you acknowledge guests in the order they were in line is essential. We waited patiently to pick up an online order. I looked for assistance on the floor and there wasn't anyone I could see then right before the cashier was going to help the next person I asked her to help us since we were there first. Instead she called for back up. Once we were getting help we attempted to redeem a gift with Luna (online order help) she said she couldn't do it since she was on the floor. I explained the cashier is busy and we have been patiently waiting she said yeah no you have to wait in line. So we got in line only to witness Luna assist a customer from the line she sent us to. The cashier switched spots back and forth with her because it was getting busier and more people came in for online orders. Luna is not on the floor still and after 7 people we are still in line. A Simple here you go let me get you out since you have been waiting would have prevented my frustrated review. Instead Luna then leaves the cashier with even more people waiting to pay. Luckily a second cashier returned from break to help that line. The store looked like a hot mess so I don't know what was so important on the floor. Review cameras Ulta management. A little more training around stop tasks for customers especially paying customers at the register should come first at least when you have more then 5 people in line. Be strategic with breaks and lunch's. read more
