And each time I have, they've come to my rescue. Ruth and Helga are like Apple superheroes. I actually found Art of Mac on Yelp a few years ago when I was having some computer issues. So I feel it's only fair to pay it forward and recommend their services to my other Mac-loving friends. Ruth and Helga are incredibly knowledgeable in the ways of the Mac. Over the years, they've assisted me with everything from retrieving lost files, solving email issues, reconnecting me to the Internet, to cleaning up my hard drive. If it weren't for them, I would've been out of business long ago (no joke). Best of all, they make house calls! Their pricing is very reasonable. I think it's $75/hr (two hour minimum). But $150 for peace of mind and a functioning computer is well worth the price. I can't recommend these guys enough.

In hindsight, I wish I'd done more research rather than just reading the glowing reviews. Once Catalina OS was installed, I watched as my battery life was decreased to less than an hour and at times it wouldn't even charge. That was unacceptable! Rolling back an upgrade was a bit trickier than I was comfortable dealing with especially when I found an article that said "Unfortunately downgrading to an older version of macOS isn't as simple as finding the older version of the Mac operating system and reinstalling it. Once your Mac is running a newer version it won't allow you to downgrade it that way" (https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/downgrade-macos-3581872/). After speaking with Suzanne I felt comfortable in her abilities. She took on the task and in spite of the issues she encountered (inability to restore from the USB, etc.) she restored my laptop to its former pristine functionality and fixed it so my backups would work again. Suzanne was friendly, fast, beyond competent, local to Stinson Beach, and absolutely reasonable in cost. She pretty much had my life in her hands since I keep everything on my computer. She will be my go-to person for anything related to Apple for now and forever :)
