As a Boricua who's spent plenty of time around Dominican food, I can say this felt authentic--like sitting in a friend's kitchen rather than a restaurant. That's not something you come across often. These people are the real deal! When you walk in they got salsa y merengue music playing. I saw chivo (stewed goat) on the menu and said let me get that! It was great. Reminded me of a chivo I tried in a Dominican home. Definitely coming back for the ox tail though. A true hidden gem. read more

We found this place on google while trying to find somewhere close to eat! Great service and very attentive guys! Little hole in the wall with amazing Dominican food! Highly recommend this spot if you are looking for an authentic Dominican experience. My daughter had their chicken tenders and you can tell that they were freshly made in house! Nothing frozen! Their sandwiches were so delicious, big and loaded! My husband had the bistec sandwich and I had the ham and cheese one and they came loaded with veggies (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes) they come with a side of fries and the kids nuggets do too and we tried their rice and beans it was very flavorful as well. The food is usually good, but lately it has not been the best. Last Saturday we ordered a Mondongo to go and it was cold and salty.

We visited this location yesterday 11/26/23 around 5 pm. We googled Dominican restaurant near us and chose them since they had good reviews and were close to our destination. We ordered some appetizers (quipe) and the gentleman man that served us didn't even put small plates for us to use to eat appetizer. We ordered 4 plates. We ordered the kids what they always get in any dominican restaurant pollo, the kids were like what is this? I believe they put too much breading on the chicken and it came out hard and we had to peal it off basically to get to the actual chicken. They probably ate 2 pieces of each chicken on each platter since they did not like it at all. We ordered beers and were hot, we didn't say anything because we were just hungry and it was hot inside so we just wanted to ear and leave. Maybe its because it was close to closing hours since they close at 6pm but i was disappointed with the food and service. When we ordered the bill surprisingly it was expensive since they ad their own gratuity. That server only came to my table maybe 4 times to get $20.00 tip for nothing. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile. I think I may have learned about it from a tv show called Check Please! The luncheon menu is extensive with all kinds of interesting dishes. They also have a special menu of the day. We enjoyed lemon chicken with red beans and Mangú. It was all delicious! I've never had Mangú before and I really enjoyed it. It had a texture more like Mashed potatoes than typical mofongo and was served with sautéed red onions on the top. Definitely a dish you can share with someone. My husband ordered mofongo with pork strips both were delish! Again, they serve large lunch portions so come hungry or plan to take some home. We wait around 15min to received the menus. We got them because I went to ask for them. After, we finished I went to ask for a go-to plates. One of the server told me "I'm not assigned to your table". I was shocked. I was asking myself WHERE IS THE TEAMWORK IN THIS PLACE. OMG Mangu for days!!! This small little gem is truly a mouth watering treasure. I tried to look through the whole menu but kept coming back to page one. I absolutely Love mangu, so when my sister and law was like," I know this Dominican place"....that's all she had to say. I'm not familiar with this area so I definitely had to use navigation but it winded up being super easy. On the outside the restaurant has pictures of the food on their actual windows so that just draws you in period! Once inside a little counter/bar equipped with the Dominican flag. They have a good size set up with just the right about of tables and booths. They have one flat screen but its perfectly centered so everyone can catch the latest. They also have 2 blackboard showing specials of the day and their most popular dishes. We all ordered the traditional mangu breakfast(sis in law copt out of the eggs though). The dish was perfect. The sausage the fried cheese the onions and of course the mangu. Everything just completed eachother and all the plates looked as if they had been practically licked clean. We weren't playing. For a place in Miami I felt like I was in DR enjoying a home cooked meal. The coffee is good, the food was phenomenal, and the customer was amazing. I walked in and was seated right away, they brought me bread took my order and handed me some of the best coffee and orange juice. My food came out a few minutes later and I will say I enjoyed every bite. When I visit Miami again, I will be back for some more good food. read more
