I couldn't be more disappointed in my carpet purchase as Maaco's Floor Covering in Appleton, WI. We specifically purchased our carpet because of the Stainmaster warranty. After only 4 years the carpet is matted and crushed in all of the traffic areas. Maaco's did send someone to our house and sent an "independent inspector" but when the warranty brochure says 10-15 year texture warranty, that doesn't mean due to matting, crushing or corn rolling I was told. This portion of the warranty only means if the carpet tufts are "bursting, blooming, opening or losing their twist", not matting and crushing. You would think that after spending $7k on a whole house full of carpet, with a warranty that it would mean something but in Maaco's world it does not. Will never buy from them again! read more

I am going to join the one star club. I have been dealing with Macco's for 16 months on flooring and install for a remodel. The sales person was great, installation crew and scheduling, NOT! After all the run around and not getting a firm install date, we have decided to hire someone else to install. I don't have any faith in them. Go elsewhere. read more

I had a vinyl flooring job quoted for around 3.80sft to install. Dakota did the measuring and even double checked the thickness of my tile to make sure everything would line up. He told me the new floor would line up with my current tile. Mandy the sales associate told me no one uses wide thick transition strip anymore. You butt the floors together and use a flat "T" strip or caulk. She told me Macco's is quality and not like a big box store. The two installers started laying the floor Thursday 11/07/19. Things were not lining up. When the new floor met the tile it was off over a 1/2". They told me I need to use a wider thick transition strip. They even mentioned they never laid a floor this far off. When they put the door back the gap between the floor and bottom of the door was over 1". It looked terrible see the pictures below. I advised the installers to stop and called the manager to discuss fixing this issue. They sent Dakota back out to check the measurements. At this time Dakota told me this was all good. This was done correctly. This is the quality work Macco's does. He told me if I wanted something more like the floors lining up and less of gap under my doors I would need to add and pay for a 1/2" sub-floor. I talked to the co-owner Jeff Macco. He told me it wasn't a mistake but they could fix it but I would need to pay for it. (Why fix it if it isn't wrong??) I said this is clearly wrong and it should have been quoted with a sub-floor. He said most of their customer would be fine with this job. He said he could pull up the flooring and just leave or have them fix it for an addition 3.00sft to add the sub-floor. (An addition $3,000). My old flooring was already ripped out. My furniture was piled in rooms so they could work on the floor. We had been living on the base wood for a week. So I felt I had no other options but to have them complete the work. I am sharing the pictures of what they told me was quality work for Macco's. read more

I went to Macco's to manage a hardwood flooring project for my condo unit. While the salesperson, Rachel, was helpful in assisting me with picking out colors for my flooring, she failed to advise me on the flooring direction. After the flooring was installed, I had a few friends over, one of which has interior design knowledge. They advised me that the flooring should have been installed the length of the room for the best aesthetic result. After doing some research, I found out that this was correct. Upon pressing Macco's about this issue, their position was that floors can be run either way. However, after reviewing Maccosflooring.com their website even disagreed with that premise. Under ""Hardwood Flooring FAQ" it states the following: "3. Is there any rule-of-thumb for the direction that the planks in a hardwood floor should be oriented? Yes. The rule-of-thumb is that they should run parallel to the longest wall in the room in which the planks are being installed". I was NEVER informed of this so called "rule-of-thumb" nor was the direction of the flooring ever even discussed. I hired Macco's to help advise me on all major decisions related to the flooring install in my condo. THEY FAILED TO DO SO. I am now left with floor running two different directions in my condo. I am extremely disappointed with the outcome and wish I would have done more research. Bottom Line: In my opinion, If you plan on using Macco's, figure out everything related to the project beforehand and do not rely on them to be a full service flooring provider. read more

I went to Maccos today to get some help picking out flooring for a room. I ended up walking out after not even being acknowledged after trying to find what I needed by myself for a good 15 minutes or so. I left this store with a bad taste in my mouth and I will be buying my flooring from somewhere else in Appleton. This was my first experience at Maccos and it will be my last. I don't need to spend my money there. read more

The worst! I absolutely do not recommend using maccos. My tiles were laid incorrectly ( I did receive a credit for this), my table and cupboards were damaged and the final straw is that my grout turned green. It's been four months and the issues are still present. As an organization, they have not lived up to their warranty. To add insult to injury, Mandi Pryal hung up on me while I tried to discuss my issues. Months later, my grout is still turning green. This is ridiculous! The right thing to do is remove the grout (and apparently the subfloor you installed) and start fresh. So much of my precious time has been wasted while you attempted "cheap" fixes for the subpar materials you used. read more

Our salesperson was very helpful and patient while we found the perfect new "hardwood" option of that matched our home's style. She even came to our home to help the guy who does measurements and sent a second guy out when we had a question about our subfloor. We had a tough project to do because my 120 year old house has some pretty crooked & bowed original flooring so we opted to have Macco's professionals install vinyl planks for us- knowing full well were not skilled in this department. They estimated it would be a 2 day project, but the installation guys whipped it out (and did a good job) before 3pm on the first day! They were super personable so we actually enjoyed having them work on our home. We are really happy with how beautiful our floors turned out- it's like a whole new house! read more

Only care about providing service until they get the sale... after they have your order and money don't expect to hear much from them. We were told we would have our flooring in two weeks... took a bit longer and several boxes of floor were damaged so we couldn't finish the install. 2 weeks later, replacement flooring for the damaged boxes were supposed to arrive... no word from Macco. My husband ended up calling them to find out what was going on. He was told there was a manufacturing issue and it would be another 4 weeks. If a company wants to provide service, when something like the above happens, they should be providing updates to the customer before the customer has to call them. We were offered no additional discount for the inconvenience nor a real apology. DO NOT buy flooring from Macco's flooring if you want any type of service after they get your money! read more

Second Time, Same as the First! I thought I would give Macco's another try. What a waste of my time. It's been over a month now that I'm waiting for any kind of follow-through! Does one have to re-do an entire house at thousands of dollars in order to actually get some customer service? Do you wonder why there are never cars in that parking lot parallel to 41? Here's a clue.....if you walk in and you're the only one there and there are two people shooting the breeze, you can walk around until you're dizzy until you decide that you need to initiate questioning for help. Once you have piqued the interest of anybody, you may get an accurate answer, but according to my experience, not. I asked for a particular shade of carpet. The salesperson said he had not sold that color for over ten years. After more questions and looking around a bit, I noticed two samples of carpet on my way out of the store that were exactly the color I had been asking about! OOPS! That is, unfamiliar with merchandise at hand, lack of ordering a sample, unfamiliar with distributors who may carry carpets of a particular company, .....shall I continue? Shame. There are slim pickins' in the Valley as far as I'm concerned. Is everyone here just waiting around for retirement or reorganization? read more

I bought wood laminate flooring for my home here, didn't know at the time that it is the worst rated product (Shaw) in the industry. When problems cropped up, they tried to install same product a second time-same issues. Paid more money, went with solid wood flooring-installers damaged furniture, put down a couple of boards with chips in them, etc. Friends have used them, with problems as well-vinyl flooring that shrinks away from walls, bad seams in carpet, poor customer follow through. I like to buy local, but this is one local vendor to stay away from. read more
