We could not be more pleased with Aaron, and the work that MacCoy Home Solutions did for us. We saw a project they worked on in our neighborhood (also reviewed on this page by that home owner) and were very impressed. We had Aaron over to discuss our project - new siding for old house, making repairs to old rot, installing new windows and doors for a converted garage, replacing and adding insulation in the crawl space and attics, extending gabled roof lines, adding two new decks, replacing windows, and repainting the whole thing. He is very personable, and was eager to help sort out priorities, the "needs" and "wants", and worked with us on a schedule that would fit our financial situation and ensure that the work would be done in a timely manner. After the project started, Aaron was patient with us as the scope evolved (and unfortunately expanded due to deep foundation repair issues that no one could have found without tearing into the house), and as we kept looking for ways to minimize costs. In the end, although our project ultimately was much larger than initially scoped, we feel that our house is now solid, safe, and free of any major issues whatsoever - it's amazing that our house was even standing before, and now it feels rock solid - and it looks incredible! Aaron and his team were always willing to look for ways to minimize impacts to our lives, were very transparent on cost and schedule using a great online tool (Buildertrend), sent out daily work summaries complete with photos, were great at organizing subcontractors, and generally seemed honestly vested in this project and it's positive outcome. Aaron's crew was at our house for a few months and we could not have been more pleased with their incredible punctuality, friendliness, and quality of workmanship. For several months my wife and I were hoping to take on a kitchen remodel project, but were very apprehensive about which contractor to hire. Living in a larger area, it seemed there were a lot of contractors out there, but we didn't know where to start. Many of our friends had hired small (1-man operation) contractors to manage their projects, but as I reached out, it seemed that a lot of these people were either working for someone else now, or I got the impression that our project was just a bit too much for a smaller contractor to take on. Someone suggested that I visit Dunn Lumber to get some recommendations. This made a lot of sense to me. After all, you see who has steady work, a good crew, pays their bills, and has an overall reputation as a quality contractor with integrity. I walked into the Lynnwood store in early June and spoke with one of the guys at the front desk. He had a printed list on file with several contractors categorized by project type. He went to the kitchen section and walked me through the list. He specifically highlighted MacCoy Home Solutions and told me that the owner (Aaron) was highly talented and great to work with for projects like mine. He said that Aaron had several years of experience in a wide variety of areas and had recently started his own company in the past year or so and he is really making a good impression. I was certainly encouraged by the recommendation from Dunn and I went home that afternoon to research the list a bit more (visiting websites, reading reviews, etc), followed by calling a few of them to discuss my specific project. My call with MacCoy Home Solutions was highly encouraging. I spoke directly with Aaron, explained that Dunn referred me to him and gave an overview of my project goals. Aaron listened attentively and then walked me through some of the highlights of what I could expect from him and his team. I was impressed and we scheduled a time for my wife and I to meet with him and his brother Jason to talk about the project in more detail. Aaron and Jason were great to work with on the front end. They came over to our house and talked through design ideas, scope of work, budgets, and timelines. We liked the idea of the 3D design renderings of the project as a way to see some concepts of what the end result could be. This seemed like a minimal investment and a good opportunity to see what working with MHS would be like like. In early July we met again to review the concepts and we were very impressed with what they presented. They showed multiple options at varying levels of investment, all of which were within our  budget window. Impressed with the proactive planning and their overall professionalism, we signed a contract with MacCoy Home Solutions, and scheduled the start date in early August. The project lasted a bit over 2 months and I have to say that the end result is even better than what we expected when we initially reviewed the proposals that Aaron and Jason showed us. Aaron was fantastic to work with. He took ownership and responsibility of every detail. We checked in daily and he was prepared to cover every detail that was brought up. As with any project, there were unexpected surprises that came up, but these are where Aaron truly shines. He always stepped up and remained flexible to the situation at hand, and no matter what the surprise was, the end result was always better than expected. I also really appreciated Aaron's transparency throughout the project. If he encountered something that he was not sure about, he would find someone who knew more than him and would get it taken care of. It was a joy to work with MacCoy Home Solutions on this project and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Before this project, I had no idea who MacCoy Home Solutions was. My condo was flooded by the neighbor above me. Servpro dried everything out but had no idea how to find a contractor to reconstruct the walls, flooring, fixtures and everything else that needed to be done.
