First off let me start off by saying that the miscommunication on him forgetting to inform that he only takes cash or checks was a bit irritating. Because he got agitated trying to figure out how to get paid and was acting slightly like I was not going to pay him even though I had my card in hand ready to pay like I have just about every service I've ever hired. Thankfully we did get that situated thanks to his wife. For 305$ worth of service I find it a bit irritating that he didn't do the all of the areas I had asked. He picked and choose spots of his choice instead of getting the whole room. I'm unsure if that's what's the price was for only certain spots but again if that's the case that's another big miscommunication for me. I would of paid more for the full room to get cleaned not little spots of the room. Also they were going to leave my walls a disaster, I had to tell them to clean leave it the way I had it before they came and cleaned the carpets. And still left me with a mess to clean up. Jim I believe is the owners name...seems like a nice guy hit his work ethic just wasn't there for me. To your response. I didn't leave you a tip, I offered to pay for what you didn't do that I assumed was covered with the 230$ you had already charged me. I had my mother and some friends who came over and even said the work was bad. That's what lead me to leave this review and take the pictures. I've been using carpet cleaning services for some time now as you mentioned I have pets and that's why I'm always hiring professionals. I wish I would have asked more questions before hiring him. I didn't realize until he came out to clean my carpet that he sprays his solution on the carpet and then he uses what is called a bonnet which is like a spinning disc, which just appears to push the dirt around because he doesn't have any vacuum or suction to suck up the dirty water. Right away when he left and I walked on my carpet with white socks they were so dirty. I called him to discuss it and he said wait until the carpet dries and then vacuum and see how it is but at that point I just rented a carpet cleaning machine from the grocery store and it sucked up a whole lot of dirty water. He was a nice guy and he did respond to my texts about the dirty carpet, but I didn't see any point in having him come out again if his cleaning method is just pushing the dirt around and not sucking anything up. read more

I put a request out on yelp for a carpet cleaning company and McDonald Carpet Cleaning was the first to respond. They immediately offered an appointment for the next day. They show up not just on time , but they showed up early ( yes they asked if early would be ok). Jim and Elijah did a great job cleaning my carpet and removing the stitch of pet urine , my furr baby is having separation issues and has recently started acting out, ON THE CARPET! They were so quick and the equipment they used was super quiet. They put towels down to ensure no slip and falls from the damp carpet, provided a business card for future needs, a complimentary bottle of spray solution for future mis-haps and they honored the original quotes. We hired this company to clean three rooms ( 2 small bedrooms and the master bedroom) in our rental property. They were prompt in responding to our questions and we were confident that based on their reviews we would have a good outcome. Unfortunately, the finished product was basically the same as when they started. I even cleaned some areas behind the door with Folex after we had allowed it to dry and the stains came out. We contacted the owners and requested a refund ( they did not refund their fees) since we felt that the work was poor quality and not typical of other cleanings we have experienced in the past from other carpet cleaning services. We hired another company, that came out on a Sunday. The job was done and our carpets were left in very good shape and clean. Don't waste your time and money, there are some excellent ones out there that do good work and stand behind the quality of their work. I have attached the after picture below. read more

Consumer beware: I used Macdonald carpet cleaning. They came to clean the carpet on the stairs and a bench for my dining room table. At first they were nice and claim to be a family business leading you to believe they are kind and fair. They state they are honest. I didn't have that experience. Once they arrived they sprayed and drenched the carpet and pad with chemicals. Then proceeds to take rotary buffer to buff the carpet and the bench. They leave all the dirty chemicals in your carpet and fabric. My carpet was drenched and still dirty. I put clean white socks on to walk on the carpet on the stairs and the dirt and chemicals soaked into my socks and made them brown from the dirt still in the carpet. It was gross. My carpet was not clean. They also soaked the dining room table bench with chemicals. They used the same buffer. I only had one stain on the bench. The fabric on the benched was soaked and after it completely dried (mind you it was over a week it took to dry) it turned the fabric a different color from the matching chairs. It also left a water chemical mark. I reached out to them and they wanted to come over to see it. So after Labor Day weekend I reached out and told them they could come look at it but I wasn't allowing them to touch it again because I didn't want more damage. I also only requested a refund of $175 instead of the $500 to replace the bench. I was trying to be fair. If they didn't want to refund my money then I wanted to put a claim into their insurance / bond. Surprise they are not insured or bonded. They have since went silent no response no refund nothing. That doesn't seem like they are honest at all. Don't be fooled by how nice they are at the beginning because they don't stand behind their work. They don't care about their customers. Soo I was hesitant to write a review. They were attentive, communicative, responsive. Every question I had they answered. Honestly a GREAT company. But unfortunately, I only had one issue. It was more my fault than theirs but I didn't know they don't suction out the dirty water after. It's just a rotating pad. It did make vacuuming easier after! My dyson picked up much more after they cleaned my carpet so that's helpful. I'm a little bit bummed because I did think they'd vacuum beforehand but that wasn't the case either. We bought a house and the previous owners left confetti and some trash and that was still there after. DO NOT USE THEM! If I could give them no stars or negative stars I would. They do not know what they are doing! I had them in last Wednesday to clean my carpets - chose them bc of all the good reviews. They left my family room carpet worse than it was before - they dumped dirty water or soap or something all over it - left dark dirty streaks as you can see in the photo below. The ones near the yellow wall in the photo - that area was underneath my couch and perfectly clean before the came. And along the bottom of the photo, that whole dark area was never there originally - And it was very wet. Odd it was so wet since this was not steam cleaning, I had to cancel furniture delivery and call them back to reclean it. When they came, there was no apology, no offer for a rebate - the owner Jim simply said - oh yeah - I see what happened. The second time it was much better, how I expected it to be first time around but I still had to spot a few places with folex because they had left a few dark spots, like drips about 2 inches wide, not even there in this photo, so newly added, and I was afraid to call them again. The spots were a result of what they did - we have not used the room since the first cleaning - it has no furniture in it. And they are terrible on the carpet edges, where it meets flooring. The edges are dark in every room the cleaned where the carpet meets the flooring. The lady Tiffany you talk to when booking the appt is nice - but don't be fooled... Either they don't know what they are doing or are using dirty equipment, dirty water, or something... CALL SOMEONE ELSE.. read more
