When a friend and I needed a quick place to eat before a surprise party we decided to check out yelp and stumbled across Macho Nacho. Three of us ended up going and found it to be very delicious. The prices are great and the food is very delicious. There are also lots of options and the have two great salsas to go with whatever you choose. I have decided to go back again during the St Pattys Day parade and even on what must have been a busy day for them the food was still good. Both times I have gotten the Chicken Quesadillas, but my friends got burritos and said they were great too! read more

The Spicy Veggie Burrito is awesome! Very very spicy with lots of veggie-bean-rice stuffing....the sour cream is delicious! We also ordered the Rancheros Nachos(veg.) and boy it's a huge portion...if you are not really really hungry then this alone would do to fill you up...lots of spicy tangy jalapenos with amazing tangy guacamole and cheese and sour cream and black beans....I mean it's a complete package! I wish I lived close by for I would order these nachos everytime Fedex played Djoker or Messi was messing around!! Although, I do like my mexican food more gooey and the Nachos lacked salsa which made it a bit more dry. They do provide some sort of green and red chili sauce on the table but it cannot compensate for some authentic mexican salsa or pico de gallo. And that's the only reason this place gets a 4 star and not 5. We also ordered the Veg Chimichangas and unlike most other reviews on yelp, I did not find them very delectable. They had too much rice stuffed into it and very little beans or veggies. By the time we started eating chimichangas they had gotten cold and was very difficult to cut them open. The decor is very casual...small dingy place...majorly a "to-go" type resto rather than dining in. The staff is mexican and I had some problems asking them if the veg burrito was actually veg and if the black beans were made in veg broth and not pork broth like some other mexican chains do(basically I nag most restos with these Qs as the definition of "veg" varies dramatically from place to place!). I've been here three times now and I just gotta say, the place rules. I've only ordered in store and waited patiently for my food to bring it home, so I've never actually eaten inside, but as for the food, it's solid. Sadly, all the nachos don't entirely retain their crispiness by the time I get them back to my place. When I finally opened the container (this past Wednesday evening), said nachos were about 10-15% flimsy, borderline soggy. This does nothing to reduce their deliciousness except for the fact that they do lose their crunch. And again, it's only a very small portion of them that this happens to. If you ate in the restaurant, I'm sure they would be 100% crunch-tacular! On my last trip to Macho Nacho, I also ordered the top special on the board that day which was the Habenero Chicken Burrito. Now, I don't know why my brain tends to shut down when I order at times but it does. The pressure gets to me and my mouth moves independently of my smarts. "Doy, uhhh, can I get the Habenero Chicken burrito special? That sounds good." Fast forward 20 minutes and I'm sitting on my couch, watching TV, sweating and dying from what could possibly be the hottest thing I've ever eaten. HEY DUMMY! HABENERO SAUCE IS ASS HOT! I know! I mean, I knew! This was a fact that, for some reason, was locked away in the deep recesses of my brain when I ordered. Regardless of the idiocy, I'm actually glad for it this time because, despite how the burrito set my face on fire, it was awesome. After the nacho appetizer, the hellfire chicken burrito was a challenge that I wasn't expecting (should have expected). Sad to report, I was able to finish about 3/4 of it before having to throw in the towel. It was great though. One of those hilarious food experiences where you kick yourself repeatedly but keep going forward anyway. The price for this swell dinner was just over $10. Pretty fantastic! If you want good, well priced Mexican food to go, this is your place. You won't be waiting too long once you place your order, and even if it is busy in there, it's well worth the wait. Just remember that if you live 10 minutes or more away, a small bit of your nachos will de-crunchify and, if you've ordered the habenero sauce on anything, you're in for a damn interesting experience. read more

I guess our first clue should have been that they also make BAGELS... And as much as I love a good bagel, making one has nothing to do with making good Mexican food. I love tacquerias and mexican food of all stripes, but this stuff was Bland with a capital B. Only meat that had any flavor was the chorizo, which was actually ok. Chicken, Carnitas and Steak were all utterly tasteless. We slathered everything in hot sauce to get it down, but it was a challenge. And since the Macho Nacho was littered with the tasteless meats, it was not a winner. Perhaps if it just had the chorizo, it would be a good after-bar snack, but the other stuff on there was hard to get through. Sorry guys... not good. Worst breakfast burrito ever. I used to live and Texas and with that this restaurant should not even be considered Mexican. Basically a big clump of cheese and eggs in a burrito. The namesake menu item, macho nacho, is the best thing on the menu. Mountains of tortilla chips piled high with ground chorizo, pollo asada, carne asada, and cheese; lumped on each corner is guacamole and sour cream. A tiny tub of very nice pico de gallo comes on the side. The large is only $8 and I get three meals out of it. On Mondays nachos are on special and you get it for under $6! Wide array of tacos, burritos, and other things like fried plantains and beans - all tasty so far. My only complaints are that the carnitas could use a more heavy hand with the seasoning, and some tacos should come with sour cream, cheese, or pico without an additional charge. Macho Nacho is my favorite place to eat in Morristown. It's tucked in a gritty strip mall and will be overshadowed to visitors by the flashier taco restaurant in the same commercial plaza. Don't be fooled--Macho Nacho is where it's at. The carnitas are really tasty--average California quality, which means exceptionally extraordinary for New Jersey. Salsas are fresh and bursting with flavor, tamales are reliable standbys (go for pork over chicken), tortillas are up to snuff and breakfast platters taste as good as they look. Well Macho Nacho has followed the same path of many businesses in Morristown - prices up and quality down. This used to be a pretty good place with decent food and reasonable prices. You would overlook the dirt/mold on the ceiling and just chalk it up to true Mexican ambiance. They have recently increased prices again - $7.50 for a burrito with some flavorless meat, a little cheese and some rice, with a thimble of sour cream on the side. There are far better Mexican restaurants within a mile, with the same or better prices. Hopefully Macho Nacho makes some changes for the better... read more

Good ole cheap, greasy, delightful Mexican food with generous portions. The perfect hangover food. My husband loves this place.

Cheap. Hearty. Authentic. Come hungry. $20 Enchilada dinner for 2 with appetizer chip/guac and plantain dessert. Macho Nachos order is HUGE. Atmosphere is not great (it reminds me of a shore pizzeria) and you'll eat on paper plates (although nicely presented, see my photo) with only bottles of drinks to buy, but the food makes up for what the atmosphere is lacking. The staff doesn't speak great English and you'll hear Spanish music coming from the kitchen. Lots of takeout orders, but we always eat there because somehow it's part of the experience. Seriously you won't be disappointed. The food at Macho Nacho truly puts the Taco Truck (with their tiny "artisan tacos") next store to shame. They also serve breakfast all day and have bagels. Get the plantains, you'll thank me later. If they could update and expand the interior they would have a gold mine here-but based on the constant flow of customers I think they already do. read more

Every Friday I leave directly from work to practice with my roller derby team, Jerzey Derby Brigade. There's no time for dinner in between, so I'm usually famished by the end of practice. I'm so glad Macho Nacho is nearby and open late. The portions are big and inexpensive. There's a lot of variety on the menu, but I usually go for the veggie burrito because they don't skimp on the grilled veggies so it feels like a healthy option. Service is quick, and the atmosphere is casual enough to handle some crazy derby girls fresh from practice. This place opened my eyes to the wonder food that is chorizo. The Macho Nacho dish is greatness in itself but usually I get a steak and chorizo burrito with black beans. The other day I tried out some hard shell chicken tacos with chorizo and it was excellent. Also, their hard taco shells stand out because they aren't like the shells at the cheapo places. The shell is sort of puffy and crispy and really gives the taco a very satisfying flavor and crunch. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for quality food at ridiculously good prices. P.S. This is a hole in the wall kind of place. But inexpensive and good food is in abundance. Stopped in for a quick bite while passing through and was looking for a place that wouldn't be a pain to find parking. They have their own parking lot which is very convenient.
