Instead of going high with the clippers, he stayed low and left some length up above to allow for some movement of the hair. No one has cut my hair this way (to my recollection) and I was very happy with the result. The best haircut I've had in quite some time. Jason is also very nice and personable and keeps the conversation going. One of my favorite parts was that she took detailed images of my scalp at the beginning and explained exactly what she was seeing. It was fascinating and so helpful to actually understand the condition of my scalp instead of just guessing. Based on those images, she customized my treatment with specific products, tinctures, and even supplement recommendations that were tailored to what my scalp actually needed. The treatment itself was incredible! She used several different jets, massage tools, and scalp treatments throughout the session, and every step felt intentional. THE STYLIST: Jen arrives from Salt Lake City where she had fifteen years of experience as stylist at an Aveda salon - with all the great training Aveda provides. I imagine Jen's former clients in Salt Lake must really be missing her - and their Facebook posts say that is true - because Jen just cut and colored my hair for the first time and both services were simply top notch. My hair is fine - and I have found that unlike fine wine, fine hair does not improve with age - and challenging to cut. I have tried a number of different stylists in the six years I've lived in the Boise area and Jen provided not only the best cut to fit my hair that I've had here but among the best cuts I've had in a dozen years. (And I say that from the perch that my long term stylist in my previous city was crackerjack good.) More than ample clear floor space for path of travel from stylist's chairs to shampoo area. Accessible loo too. One would assume 30 years into the ADA being law all salons would do as good a job of getting it right as does Studio.
