First of all, my hair was a mess. Half of it was shorter than the other half and there were chunks just missing from the bottom. I had been chopping it myself for years, part of it was still damaged from bleaching it six years ago and honestly I had given up on ever liking my hair again. But then I went to Joanna. I reached out to Johanna to see if she might be able to squeeze me in, and luck was with me that she had a cancellation and she fit me in. Cheyenne is awesome! My 18-yr-old daughter wanted to get her first real hair cut and style with highlights so I jumped on Yelp and found Thairapy. Johanna replied right away on a Saturday and was able to schedule an appointment with Cheyenne the following Tuesday. From out of town, my hair really needed to be done it was bad. To the point I didn't where it down anymore it was 2 different things and dead. They were able to squeeze me in last minute after calling early this morning today. I went and Cheyenne did freaking amazing. Started seeing Johanna because I found really great reviews of her. My mom and I started seeing her and from the first call I sort of felt like I was working for her. She asked me questions to see whether she would take me. I decided to give her a try because if she was super good I can go with that. After meeting her she did fine. She was sweet to my mom which was very nice. She said if someone left she she wouldn't take them back which is her choice but it felt very off putting. It didn't seem like we clicked like we could. She txted on her phone while she was cutting my hair. Literally, stopped working on my hair to txt on her phone. With everything else this was disappointing. I txted her needing to cancel my mom and my upcoming appt and she didn't respond at all. She canceled it in her program but no response to my txt. The two times I saw her she burnt my head both times with the curling iron when styling. The buzzers left a nasty red mark on the lower part of my moms neck. She didn't ask how I wanted my hair styled. I told her I was vegan and she automatically decided that my thin fine hair was due to that and not eating enough protein when actually I have PCOS which I told her. She just could have been better as far as how she comes across. 3 stars because she can cut hair but didn't wow me. New to the area, I searched and found Johanna under wigs. I was looking to buy a topper. Through a text she told me she could help me and I made an appointment to see her. I believed I was going in a store to purchase a topper. There was never any communication or discussion about a consultation or a consultation fee. To make a long story short I purchased a $550 real hair wig from her. After three weeks I received a text saying that it is on back order. The fact that she deals with this all the time I thought she could give me an idea of when it might come in and I asked her that. She couldn't give me an idea and said she would have to talk to her rep. I told her that I wasn't happy. I had given her $550, nothing was given to me, a receipt or anything in writing, and she doesn't have an idea when the wig would be there. My next text from her was a raging, angry person and a refund for my wig, short $55 that she charged for a "refund of a hairpiece". I was never told she would keep money in the case of a refund. There is a long list of fees that she charges at the end of her page that new customers will want to check out before you do business with her. It appears she does a good job but she is very expensive. At the end of her text she told me her mother had passed recently and her husband recently had become ill. I feel very sorry for her that she's going through that, I did not know that. I wish her and her family well. I still feel the refund charge ($55) and her attitude were unnecessary. read more

Not only did she get back to me within 10 minutes she was available after work. Hallelujah!!!! I was in town for work and like most cities I visit in US, I get a blow out the morning after I arrive to whatever city. I usually get NO APPTS, we don't do only blow dry, or the worst one..... they attempt to dry my hair with a baby brush which even though I tell stylist it takes about 1 1/2 hrs just to dry!! I have Long super Thick and Lots of hair so.... I found this treasure Johanna on Yelp with only great reviews. It was late at night so I figured I was out of luck but No. I messaged her and she messaged back in 10 minutes got me in next day at 9am (I don't think salon opens that early) but not only did she get me in early I had a wonderful blowout with a big huge brush and most importantly Johnna is a Doll. Finally, after much research in which my hair cut took a major beating, I have finally found someone who knows how to cut a short, textured style with finesse. Johanna, who looks like Christina Hendricks twin from Mad Men series, was able to take a ragged hair cut from a previous hairdresser (should probably have checked the credentials on this one) and cut and style a snazzy, current cut. The true test of a good haircut - you don't go home and shampoo and restyle. Not happening here! I was able to go out into public with my perfectly coiffed hairstyle and hold my head up with pride! I just got my hair done tonight by Johanna for the first time and before she did my hair, she texted me everytime I had a question and would respond quickly. She was extremely kind and professional. When she did my hair tonight, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she got it exactly like I wanted it. Ive colored my hair several times and I must say she is the best stylist I've ever met and I'm not just saying that. She had reasonable prices as well. I came home and my husband was so excited lol he said this was the best color I've had as well. I requested a consultation with Johanna after receiving a trim by someone in another state. The trim went terribly wrong and I sought out advice from Johanna after reading her reviews. I sent her some photos of what my hair looked like before the trim and what it looked like after. She responded in a timely manner and got me in for a consultation quickly. She was on time and ready for the appointment. She spent time with me, looked at my hair, showed me some of the issues that would need to be addressed for correction, and explained a few different options that would work to better my current hair situation. She then showed me how I could style the current cut to better hide what was done. Even after only 15 minutes in her chair I felt more confident about my situation. Wow, after being here almost 1 year I finally found a great stylist/colorist. Johanna was able to fix my brassy hair (which was from another local salon). I told her I would like something low maintenance and she recommended highlights and lowlights to help blend so the gray is less noticeable. It looks awesome!
