I was beyond embarrassed, and I left this school in tears today when I was asked to leave because I had my 3-month-old sleeping son in his stroller with me. I was here a couple of weeks ago with my son (same situation, he was sleeping in his stroller) for the same nail service, and there was no issue. Apparently, there is a new rule that there are no "extra people" allowed on the floor during services. Not only was the floor not busy this morning, but my son was asleep and we were not in the way. Furthermore, Kaley was completely unaware of this rule enforcement as she was shocked by my being asked to leave. I am a single mom of 2 children, and while I would agree to being asked to leave should I have brought my 2-year-old daughter with me, I am astonished by my sleeping newborn. Paul Mitchell has been a well-respected name in the beauty industry for years. This has left the most sour taste in my mouth, and I would not only NOT recommend this school (for attendance OR service), but I also would not recommend their products simply because it was the worst interaction I have ever had. I do not know about other Paul Mitchell schools, but based on my experience at this specific location in Nampa, I would caution anyone considering attending to do thorough research and consider all factors. I believe the experience at this school may not be ideal for everyone, especially if you're someone who values a supportive and conflict-free atmosphere. That said, others may have had a different experience, so this is just my perspective. I do want to mention one teacher, Gwen, who was incredibly supportive and the only staff member I felt truly cared about my well-being during my time there. I deeply appreciate the guidance she provided. Ultimately, I hope the school will reflect on areas for improvement, but that is up to them to decide. I'm sharing this review to help others make an informed decision, but I understand that every experience is unique. Edit: I want to shout out one more teacher. Otherwise, I love the warm yet functional interior of Mane Street Salon. I had a hard time finding a trustworthy stylist when I moved to the area and went 6 months between colors. By word of mouth, I found Kari. She was so incredibly warm, understanding and desperately wanted to fix my gray. I think she actually cared more about my color and finding the right color for me than I did. What a gift. She worked to find the right color mix and she expertly went to work. She was careful to make sure my clothing and facial skin was clean and dye free. Within a short amount of time, I was gray-free with fabulous auburn hair. She's continues to have the same level of diligence every time I go to her and I'm happy to say she's the only one I trust with my hair.
