He showed up on time, and completed the work in a timely manner. He was careful not to track any wet shoes in the house - which is really hard when it's so rainy out. I recommended MacKenzie after using him to consult in a possible leak in. 2017. He gave sound advice and didn't charge for his opinion. I thought- wow, this guys is great! I used him years later to replace a wax ring for a toilet. He was prompt and down to earth and seemed fairly priced. When we had an ongoing issue with black sediment coming out in our bathtub, he was the first person we called. MacKenzie said he was 90% sure the issue was coming from the cartridge to our faucet (he did not check the water heater). He said it would be $275-300 for the fix. I asked him if he wouldn't mind recaulking around the tub if he had time since it really needed it. Not thinking that would be a big ticket item, I was shocked when the total price for the work was $526, $175 of it being the caulking. The next day there were holes in the caulk that he had charged $175 for. I hate calling people back on their work, but for $175 my husband talked me out of driving to ace and fixing it myself. Mackenzie came back out and fixed it at no cost. Once the caulk dried we tried the faucet for the first time. It looked like the water pressure was much lower, but he had commented on the water pressure possibly being too high beforehand, so we figured maybe it was a good thing the pressure was lower. The black sediment came back a week later, which meant his diagnosis was incorrect. It was never the cartridge. We reached back out to him and he said we should replace the water heater and see if that fixes it. We called a water heater company, told them what was going on with the black sediment, and they knew exactly what we were talking about. We had the water heater company replace the water heater without going through MacKenzie. I kept feeling uneasy about the low water pressure as the weeks went on so I reached back out to MacKenzie and sent a video of the facet running shortly after the work was done. (It now takes twice as long to fill the tub for our kids' baths.) He said the cartridge might be faulty and we'd have to pay for the work to be redone- parts and labor not covered. The work we never needed done in the first place because the diagnosis was wrong. I understand a missed diagnosis, but for him to know it was a wrong diagnosis and to not cover parts or labor from that work that never needed to be done and in fact, made a non issue worse? We received his name via a recommendation, which in retrospect, must have been from a friend or relative. We advise you to use extreme caution if you decide to go with this plumber. He does NOT stand behind his work as was evidenced when we paid $1454 to him to Upgrade some plumbing (which I might add was done at his suggestion when he arrived to do other work for us). We agreed to the upgrade which failed and began leaking within 3 days. When he came back to "fix" the issue which involved taking out all of the plumbing he had installed 3 days prior (using pvc) and changing it to copper plumbing (probably what he should have done initially). He then had the audacity to charge us another $818. We did not intend to be charged at all for him to come back to "fix" the leaks on all the new work he put in! He also damaged the laundry sink we had him install on the first day. He did not offer any discounts for installing a damaged sink. He did not think it was a big deal at all. It was in our garage so I didn't press him on it. Our toilet was running, he installed a new flapper valve for us. When days later it was still running, he told my husband we should replace the toilet. My husband ordered a different flapper valve and fixed it himself. This guy is not on the up and up and I do not recommend him even for the smallest job at this point. He is just not an honest tradesman. read more

I eventually wanted to replace all the toilets so I asked how much it would be to install 3 toilets. He gave me a quote of 3 Toto Hurricane Flush toilets, parts and labor =$2580. Great service and communication. Super easy to work with. We just purchased an older home that probably has not had the toilets replaced since it was built in 49'. As such a 2 toilet install became slightly more involved, as would be expected. Everything that popped up, Mackenzie was able to repair quickly and cleanly at reasonable rates. We called and explained the problem to Mackenzie. He was in the area so came by when he finished his prior job. He bent over, looked at it and said can't help. You should call a leak detection company. Was at our house MAYBE 5 minutes....and wanted $50!! My friend said I have $15 on me, will that work, thinking he didn't do ANYTHING. Mackenzie said, No, it'll be $50! So he followed him to an ATM. An hour later, a guy came by, and was able to fix the problem, for the cost of a new compression cap to stop the leak on a copper tube. Didn't even need to heat or sweat the pipe....but Mackenzie charged $50 for a QUICK look! read more

this guy is horrible and has the worse service!!! he was referred to us by a friend, but worse mistake ever!!!! we recently renovated our home and asked if he would redo our entire plumbing. he agreed and of course collected payment, but never finished the job. there were days that he never even showed up to work. finally after a couple of weeks, he finished the job and said we were set to go. we tried running the water and realized we don't have hot water. so we called him letting him know the problem and he said okay i'll be there tomorrow to fix it. the day came and went without him showing up. we left him a few voicemails and he returned our call saying he would be there within 2 days. again no show! he then sends us a text message saying he is too busy and thinks it's best if we find another plumber to fix it. are you effing kidding me!!!! i have myself, my husband and our 3 toddlers living in our home without hot water all because he messed up somewhere and now dosn't want to come back and fix it. this is unexceptable and unprofessional. now we are forced to look elsewhere and spend who knows how much to fix what he may have damaged. legal actions will be taken for this!!!!!!!!!! read more

He came out four times to fix the backup problem on our toilet and couldn't fix it. He ultimately called another plumber out to help him and we paid for that as well. We should have realized after the 2nd dispatch that he had no idea what the heck he was doing. He seemed eager, but lacked the skills to do basic plumbing. read more
