I received 4 quotes for a toilet replacement. It was very easy to contact Plumbing Care and schedule the appointment. They were on time and sent the quote in a very timely manner. Ultimately, 3 companies (including Plumbing Care) had almost the same price (differing by ~$100). Another was about 25% higher than the other quotes so I did not select them. Ultimately, I selected a smaller company, which was easier for me to communicate with. I called Plumbing Care, spoke to a receptionist, who asked me to email their sales department, and there was some miscommunication. It would have been nice to just speak to someone on the phone to ask my questions without having to exchange several emails. Tub and sink weren't draining so we again contacted Plumbing Care Inc. (six months ago they previously resolved a separate plumbing issue) for an assessment for later today. Alvictor ("Al") called not long after we made appointment letting us know that he'd be available in 40 minutes if we wanted to adjust time. We agreed and Al arrived at new time. Al was courteous, friendly, and informative on options for resolving issues. We opted with Al fixing the clogs for which he resolved quickly. He was good with our dog as well - who is a very good judge of character. Price was extremely reasonable since we're paying not for the ten minutes it took for Al to fix the drains but also for for his training, certification, et al that goes with the trades. I have a 20+ year old Bradford White gas water heater that I wanted replaced before next year when electric heaters may be required. Plumbing Care was one of the BW recommended experts. I called up and a couple of guys showed up to look at the job. Subsequently, the manager called up with more information. The two men returned to complete the job efficiently and left with everything neat. They also installed a faucet to a deep laundry sink. I thought they would have to pull the sink out to get at the faucet, but they managed to do it in place. Their quote was the most detailed I have seen for any job. Tub faucet leaking and toilet drain leaking. The quoted price was the most reasonable of the 3 estimates that I got. Tub faucet with time the ring and the valve got stuck. It was a tough job. After using WD-40, and then allowing a little time, he was able to remove and replace my old Delta shower valve. Similar with the toilet. One of the screws was rusted and not properly installed so he couldn't unscrew. The next best option was to saw it and hope that the valve doesn't need to be replaced. Luckily it was old plumber who didn't install the screw correctly. When he replaced the wax ring, he put 2 wax ring. Then he confirmed everything was working, and made sure that there was no leak. Before leaving, he also gave me a new toilet flap. read more

Pablo showed up in a Sunday to help us remove and replace a kitchen sink drain. The flange nut holding our old drain in place was stuck and we couldn't remove it on our own (the entire assembly would rotate instead of unscrewing the nut. Pablo quickly assessed the situation and used his tools to remove the old drain and installed the new drain. He was very efficient and also very courteous and very good about not leaving a mess. I have a bespoke radiant heat system, engineered by a nerdy independent plumber in 2005-6, when my West Oakland home was built. Over the years, it's been quite a challenge to find maintenance and repair pros knowledgeable about such house-heating-plumbing systems and willing to diagnose and repair (even though it's pretty basic plumbing). I'm so grateful to now have my heat on and beginning to warm the house. It usually takes a couple of days to get the temperature up (differing a lot from forced air, which is nearly instantaneous and maintained by HVAC professionals, not plumbing pros). But, once that radiant heat is going, it's cozy and much less dry and noisy than forced air. Got a text the plumber was on the way at 10am and was there within 10 minutes. Diagnostics took about 15-30 mins, replacing the pilot assembly/gas control valve 30 mins (he had the part on the truck) Pretty efficient in my opinion $750 for parts and the labor was waived since I'm a repeat customer. My mom had a similar issue with her water heat but used a handyman and then a different plumber and took her longer and cost over a thousand.
