One thing that every homeowner hates is having to call a plumber...in the middle of the night...to fix the water main that brings ALL the water into your house...when you already have to go to the bathroom and can't flush. But I digress. Here's some background: The water main to my house broke last year and water was gushing everywhere (outside, fortunately). The water company comes and turns the water off and says "Get a plumber. Have a nice day." and drives off. I live in a condo so the HOA called a plumber to fix it and they came out and did the job. Water main repaired. House has water. All is well. Fast forward one year later and the same thing happens like deja vu: water main breaks, water is gushing everywhere, water company comes and turns the water off and says "Get a plumber. Have a nice day." and drives off. I had a total Bill Murray on Groundhog Day moment. This time it broke in the early evening and by the time I was home to get the repair done, it would have required an after-hours call to a 24/7 plumber (insert money with wings emoji). Thankfully we had plenty of water on hand for drinking and I filled up a 5-gallon jug so I could refill the toilet basins so we could well, you know. So we were able to make it through the night. Thanks to all things holy, in the morning the HOA called Plumbing Care. It just so happened that Eric O. was nearby so he called to let me know the HOA had contacted him and that he would be right over. He came over, was very polite, and quickly examined the scene. Within a few minutes, he let me know what the problem was: the last plumber had used the wrong hardware to fix the break in the pipe. It was more of a hack than anything. So he let me know what needed to be done and got right to work. Not more than an hour or so later, he had the break repaired and working great. He explained the repair and let me look it over, all the while being polite and easy going. There was even some dirt on the ground from the leak and he offered to wash down the street. I declined because, hey, I had water now and I wanted to play with it! :D After the repair, Eric let me know the other services that Plumbing Care could do if I needed any other plumbing work done. He went into detail about the services they provided including gas line re-piping which I was interested in for my patio. He took a quick look at the patio and let me know what it would take the get the job done. God forbid you or I should ever have a plumbing problem again. But if I do need to call a plumber I will definitely be calling Plumbing Care before I call anyone else. read more

I called this company to clear a drain after a toy was flushed, clogging both my toilets and bathtubs. The technician told me the job required rooftop access and a second person due to liability, so I signed that agreement. I agreed to the charge and paid -- part in cash, part on credit card. There was no attempt to clear the line from the roof even though that was what was stated in the contract and service fee I paid. Instead, they were able to clear the blockage through a front-yard access point, which seemed great at the time. The drains worked briefly while we tested them, but just a few hours later, both toilets and bathtubs were clogged again -- exact same issue. I called the company that night and was told my technician, who was very kind, would come back out the next afternoon. He came the next day, said he would now have to remove the toilet to resolve the issue and quoted me for another service. I scheduled for him to come back a third time since he was not able to help me at that time. I felt uneasy about paying for the service again, when the issue was only temporarily resolved. I called and spoke to Michael, who heard the situation and said he would speak to his manager and call me back in about 30 minutes. That call never came. When they returned the third day, they acknowledged the original service didn't resolve the issue and said they'd now need to remove the toilet to finish the job -- for another few hundred dollars. This is the same problem I already paid them to fix, and day three of not having workable toilets or baths for my little boys. To me, this is like giving Tylenol for appendicitis -- it masks the symptoms for a few hours, doesn't solve the problem, and then you're back in the ER with a worse situation and a bigger bill. Bottom line: the issue wasn't properly diagnosed or treated the first time, the communication was ineffective, and I'm being asked to pay again for work that should have been done right the first time. Very disappointing and not how you build trust with customers. Plumbing is super tricky and I get that! But I don't feel that this has been a good experience and I learned my lesson about paying for services like this in cash. read more

5 stars are not enough. The gas fireplace wouldn't light tonight so I took it apart to clean. In the process, I noticed the gas wasn't working. Concerned, I ran to the kitchen. Next the hot water and furnace. All were out. Tonight's weather is forecast to be in the 30s. With a young one in the house, I panicked to get the heat fixed. I contacted the plumber who remodeled this house. Then another trusted group. And a local highly recommended guy. None could come tonight. I did the unheard of and did a Google search. Knowing the problem, I found local highly rated plumbers. Plumbing Care answered immediately. Rosie understood the issue and had her tech Keith call back within an hour, actually under 30 minutes. Together we learned that the part needed may not be available on short notice. Keith apologized and I turned to yet another source. But, in the meantime, Keith called his boss. Turns out that the part we had wasn't available but a different brand was, which ironically was the one that PG&E suggested we get if we could. Keith was back. Within 45 minutes he was at our house and solving the problem. In less than an hour he had the emergency gas valve shutoff replaced and lit the water heater. We also tested the gas fireplace, stove, and furnace. All by social distancing and while wearing masks. He didn't even have to come in the house. I could not thank him enough. He went out of his way to solve our problem. We were very lucky. You can bet we will hire Plumber Care again. Their name says it all! read more

I noticed a stain and soft sheet rock on the ceiling in my garage. Of course I was very anxious about the cause, extent of the damage, and the cost to repair. Plumbing Care was highly recommended by my Nextdoor community, so I called them and got an appt for the following day. The dispatcher informed me of the cost for the leak investigation, which I OK'd. The following day, they texted me with an ETA and photo of my technician Andre. I was very impressed with the advanced notice. Andre was very professional and friendly and diagnosed the problem after cutting away the sheet rock. It was bad soldering by the previous company. He explained how he would fix it (remove and replace with new copper pipe) and gave me the cost, which seemed reasonable. Andre did a great job completing the work and did not leave until he was certain there were no more leaks. There was a misunderstanding in the main office about who would patch the hole. As a courtesy, Martin, another tech, returned the following week to rough patch the drywall. Like Andre, Martin was very professional and personable. I was impressed with Plumbing Care's quality of work and desire to provide the best customer service. I would definitely recommend them to others. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Plumbing Care. My water heater recently broke down, and I hired them to diagnose and fix the issue. However, the plumber they sent was highly unprofessional and completely misdiagnosed the problem. Instead of identifying the actual issue, they falsely claimed that my water heater was beyond repair and insisted that I purchase a new one from them--at an outrageously high price, several times the cost of the actual fix. Despite failing to diagnose or repair the problem, they still charged me for their so-called "diagnose service." Fortunately, I decided to get a second opinion from another company, which correctly identified the issue and replaced the necessary part, restoring my water heater to full functionality. This company's tactics felt deceptive, as they attempted to take advantage of my situation to upsell an unnecessary and overpriced replacement. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their services and would encourage potential customers to seek more honest and competent professionals elsewhere. read more

Plumbing Care came out right away when we had no hot water, beating others that were trying to fit us in late in the day. I waited a few weeks after the repair to leave this review and I can say there have been zero issues, the repair took perfectly. The plumber that came out (forgot his name after a few weeks, sorry), was extremely friendly and informative, and worked very fast as well. He had to leave to get a part but returned right away (in my experience, leaving for a part often turns into a few lost hours). He obviously rushed out and back, it felt as if he truly shared my urgency. He was able to tell me about maintenance (or rather, maintenance on which I shouldn't spend a penny), replaced a very inexpensive module in our tankless gas water heater, and provided a ton of information on if we ever ran into bigger problems and when we should and shouldn't spend the money to replace or rebuild it. Again, he was not only impressively knowledgeable, he was fast, very friendly, and the charges were very transparent. Plumbing care will be my first choice next time around because we had such a positive experience. read more

After an intense night of rain, we realized our deck storm drains were clogged. Alex from Plumbing Care Inc. did an amazing job helping us to drain the 2" of water we had on our deck. He worked with the plumber's snake multiple times before diagnosing that the clog was in the storm drain on the street level of our condo complex. The clog could not be removed with the standard plumber's snake. He explained a clear solution to our problem and a plan to implement the solution. He cut one of the drain pipes and it took 2 hours to drain all of the water. Alex waited patiently for the water to drain completely, even though it was really cold after dark. He identified the clog in our storm drain and set up a prompt follow-up appointment to remove the clog. He also created a temporary fix in case of rain in the next few days. Martin is not only the best plumber that I have ever met, but he's also the nicest and most honest worker i've ever met. I woke up to cold water this morning. I called Martin during my lunch hour and he said he was so busy today but he can come over in 10 minutes. He did that. He came by on my lunch hour and had the part replaced on the water heater in under 20 minutes. I made it back to work with time to spare. I have also used him in the past for for a sink and garbage disposal replacement. He also replaced the water pressure valve in the front of my house, and switched out a rusty outside faucet later the same evening after his dinner 5 hours later for FREE. Then he saw I had outside heating filters that I had no idea where they went. HE REPLACED THOSE FREE TOO. All of this at a price that would beat even the lowest price at Home Depot. Can I say I probably just had one of the kindest experiences with a service provider? I was almost in tears, honestly. I just bought a house a few months ago and it seems like everything is going wrong and on top of that I have a new baby.
