I just received 3 flavors of fudge in the mail-choc pecan, choc pb, & rocky road. They're good, but less buttery, creamy, & rich as I've had from there over the past 6 yrs or so. They seem to taste sweeter than before & smooth, but the texture seems a bit different. I'm a very picky fudge connoisseur, & the fudge is still good, but this is the 1st time I haven't felt it was great. read more

I ordered 2 gift boxes in late November or early December for holiday gifts. After a couple of weeks, I never received a confirmation so I called. We stopped here yesterday on our way home from Michigan, and I purchased fudge for some friends and myself. I chose the Turtle fudge and OMG, it is absolutely heavenly!! Creamy with little spots of caramel and pecans. I'm tempted to eat every piece of fudge that I bought for my friends, it's that delicious! I also bought some of the Turtle candy and they're absolutely the best I've ever had. The caramel is divine, soft and sweet. I will probably be ordering more fudge from them in the future, since it's quite a drive from Ohio to get back to the shop! There are many fudge companies to choose from, particularly on Mackinac Island, but I'm very glad I chose this one. I can't imagine a more delicious fudge! read more

While staying in St. Ignace to visit Mackinac Island we decided to go check out the little small businesses in town. Were big on supporting local when offered. As we were driving past this little gem, immediately I noticed rhe big bags of cheese corn and caramel corn! Did a quick you turn and stopped in. Unfortunately the corn was packing peanuts but none the less it got our attention! As soon as we walked in we felt welcome and knew we found a gem. The owner was placing candy in the showcase and we got to try free samples. They were soooo yummy. All the candies were made by hand with love and care. We talked and talked about candy making and as we browsed thru the items in the store like local made jams and other trinkets they all had a story. They had something for everyone on your souvenir list, candies, fudge, wind chimes and taffy and mugs and other gifts! We bought different types of candies and puzzles and of course taffy. Everything was wonderful. If your ever visiting St. Ignace be sure to add this to your stop you wont be disappointed! read more

The fun bags of "popcorn" outside were a hit with my kids. They made some great photo ops. Inside was a variety of candy, sweets, fudge, and gifts. They had a little clearance area with some Christmas items I was all over. The taffy was bountiful. So many flavors to choose from! The chocolates were good, too. The fudge was ok. My experience with Mackinac Fudge Shop was probably a bit different than most reviews, but nevertheless I shall proceed. I wanted to have Mackinac fudge as the favor for my wedding. We had lots of people coming in from outside Michigan and wanted to show off one of the state's most well known confections. And it was a TREMENDOUS hit. We had three flavors (chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and maple) and I still have guests telling me how they are appalled that they ate the entire 1/4 lb of luscious fudge in one sitting because it was too good. Any child at the reception was out of its mind with sugar madness because parents were too distracted with their own fudge to notice their kids surreptitiously eating all the fudge they could reach. Now that was just a review of the fudge. The customer service deserves its own 12/10 review because as a stressed out bride, I LOVED getting calls or emails from them because they always contained a "yes we can do that, and also we can do this!" Each piece of fudge was well wrapped in wax paper so it would stay fresh for a long time, and boxed in a small white box (perfect for putting a personalized sticker on, as we did). The different flavors had different ribbon colors that matched our wedding, and looked incredibly cute! When the fudge shipped, I got a tracking number and it arrived in an insulated foam box so it would survive the August heat. Literally any concerns I could have had about favors were addressed and put to ease like hot fudge on a marble slab (smoothly and deliciously). Common wisdom would have it you purchase your fudge on the island and haul the satchel full of peanut butter and Michigan cherry fudge back to your hotel, reminiscing of the ferry ride rather than the 45 minute wait jostled between two elderly ladies who viciously demanded and ordered pieces like the place was their monthly bingo game. But listen: you don't have to have the authenticity of waiting in line or trying to keep yourself from devouring a quarter pound slice in ten minutes, and telling yourself you'll hike it off. (You won't.) The Mackinac Fudge Shop spares you that and none of the joys or intimate selection process. It sits in St. Ignace on a picturesque road curving past bayside hotels lapped by the lake and seagulls. Blink and miss it, on the way to the Bavarian Lakehaus Inn. The women at the front desk (maybe the owner) made us feel very welcomed when entering and she answered any questions we had. I am so glad we drove over the bridge to St Ignace to "the Mackinaw Fudge Shop".....We had spend a day in Mackinaw City and seen all the dozens of fudge,ice cream and clothing shops. When I walked into this fudge shop it was senses overload! It smelled wonderful, it was clean and bright, with a large variety of sweets to pick from. There were samples of fudge that were the best I had ever tasted. Creamy and rich it was hard to pick just one, so I picked 3! They also had a nice display of assorted chocolates, all home made and just as good. There was also a huge salt water taffy display in the back. The woman who was working was very friendly, and since I wasn't from the area gave me some background on the store and the business. She also told me they will mail the fudge anywhere! I remember their sea foam candy from when I was a kid and how good all of their chocolates confections were so I just had to order them for my boss for xmas this year. First off, They are very responsive to customer inquiries as I received an answer to my email within 24 hours. I was in a pinch and so I only ordered it 3 days ago (on Friday). I was nervous that it wouldn't get here by Thursday for our employee xmas party but lo and behold, it was here today! Just three days (including the weekend) after my original order.
