The outdoor bar looked like a great spot to have a beer outside in the shade and my Dad said he probably will stop there again to do that in the fall. The food was incredibly hit or miss. Cherry burger: my husband said "as long as it isn't a burger with three sad cherries on it I bet it will be great". It was a burger with three sad cherries on it! He appreciated that they cooked it properly but was underwhelmed and agreed it was not what he expects from a $22 burger- even in a tourist town. Jambalaya: My Dad loved this even though he said it was too much rice. There were 3 large shrimp and some sausage in it as well. He is truly picky and would order again. Kids noodles: bow ties, good portion. My son loved them. Kids chicken: unusually heavy breading which was borderline burned in the frier on top of tough chicken. I had to peel the breading off for him to eat any of it. Walleye and Morels: the walleye was GREAT. Lightly breaded, moist and flakey. The morel sauce was a miss. Not much flavor and the morels- though quite a few- just weren't that good. Not the best $35 meal I have had by a long shot. The wild grains were all sage and the veggies were extra oily- seems like a seasoning issue more than anything on that plate. Overall I would go back and might even order the walleye again with the sauce on the side and see if I can sub the sides. I also had the lobster bisque and would order that again (but I would ask for bread). May the ordering and seasoning odds be in your favor!

Any time is a good time for ice cream, I believe :) The menu at Scoops 22 is overwhelmingly huge! They serve such a variety of flavors & combos that my head was spinning. I was craving something with fudge in it, but they sadly didn't really have an option that contained anything more than chocolate chunks, so I opted for a combo of a scoop of cherry/chocolate Moomer's ice cream & a scoop of cookie dough to go with it. You obviously can't really go all that wrong with ice cream and cookie dough, but the cookie dough could've tasted better. It was overwhelmingly just dominated by sickly sweet sugar rather than any kind of flavor. Either that or perhaps the combo of cherry and cookie dough just didn't really mesh well. Probably just a bad pick from me and I will play it more safe next time when I come back here! They're a great establishment that also carries several several non-dairy & vegan options that they make in house as well, which is a really wonderful thing!

We ordered a bottle of wine quickly and had a very attentive server. 90 minutes later the bottle of wine is almost gone and our entrees are not here. I will update as we make it through the meal. Update 1: The food came out as I hit send. The cook on the meat was very correct. However, the rack of lamb came out lukewarm to room temperature. Presentation was beautiful, but seemed to be too long rested. Sides on the plate (white bean puree and the vegetables) came out to correct temp. The plate was returned and came back with the comment the puree was supposed to be chilled. Understood, but the lamb was not warm. The kitchen solution was to use a warm jus. The filet came out correct cook and great presentation. Very flavorful. Wine selection is well done and well-priced. The server, Olivia, was lovely and did a wonderful job attending to us. May come back again next time we're in town. For the first visit it wasn't spectacular, but a nice date with the Mrs. Regardless.

I'd bathe in it. This time was celery root and 5 years ago was parsnip. They have the same base of garlic, onion, cream puréed and just know how to do it. Excellent service each time too! My husband loved the SALAD (which he had never said in his life before) as well as the wagyu steak dish and Butterscotch mousse w/ short bread cookie that was best we have ever had (the chefs step dads recipe).
