I went to the Brush Prairie location. The shop looks great and everyone was friendly. The insurance company recommended this shop, so this is how I got here. They repaired the vehicle and it looks great. Paint matches. It was a very expensive repair compared to the other shop, more than double! They forgot a minor thing but somehow this turned into rambling excuses and tried to make me feel like somehow it was my fault. Strange way to handle a simple mistake. I think they will do a good job but if you end up with a problem or dispute then I think they would rather argue instead of just taking care of the issue without excuses. Looks bad and makes people feel bad especially if they're going to fix it anyway. Probably just needed a diaper change and a nap. Great for insurance repairs but I wouldn't recommend for self-pay. read more

I first took my car to Five Star (I had gone there previously for some insurance work after a minor fender-bender) for an estimate on some minor damage (non-insurance) underneath the front end from scraping the curb a few times while parking at my workplace. They wanted to do a lot of unnecessary work, and the quote was over $2300, and they wanted to keep the car for a week. Disheartened, I took my car to Mackin's for a competitive quote. The quote was about $300 and they would keep the car for maybe two hours. Obviously, I took the car to Mackin's. They did everything in about two hours and did a fantastic job. Had my truck in for rear end damage and they forgot to check my suspension as was agreed upon when given the repair. I tried to talk to the manager about the issue. He was very rude and would not even let me speak. Said his team was not qualified to check frames or suspension and that I would have to take it to the dealership to get check. Worst experience. Five days ago we were involved in an accident. Called State Farm and they arranged tow. I used Mackins 2years ago after getting rear ended so called them to let them know car was coming. They said they already had the paperwork from State Farm. Yay! This is moving along quickly I'm thinking! Today -5 days later-I called looking for an estimate as I though I might get a call by now.... They can't find my car!! Said "let me walk around the lot and see if it's here and I'll call you right back". Over an hour later I got a call back," sorry not here"!! Called State Farm and they locate the car at the tow yard. Mackin's never let State farm or me know that they refused our Volvo because they are too busy!! I got no apology, no consideration and that's terrible customer service! I had asked them why didn't you call me and let me know you didn't have my car when I called you specifically on Friday and let you know it's coming??. And then you think if they refused it from the tow truck driver that they would've called me or let State farm know!! Meanwhile my car has been sitting for 5 days in a tow yard. Worst customer service ever. They are too busy to care about past customers or current ones! Done with Mackins and I will spread the word. read more

I own a Dodge Hi-roof pro-master van 2500 which is my Business and ice cream truck! I backed into a metal apparatus with the right rear door open; my fault and my carelessness or stupidity if you will which the result was that door would not close properly! So I took it to mackin's after calling them and which is about 2 minutes from where I live! After calling I then took my van in for them to look at which they did and straightened it out within 2 two minutes where it now it closes like it should? no charge was good news? So to keep my promise I will stop by there this summer when we have a warm day and complimentary ice cream for Mackin's crew! read more

I chose Mackin's Auto Body in part due to who could get me in as well as some good reviews. After a long long LLLOOONNNGGG journey with them. My truck is all fancy and new again. My truck was in their care for just about 6 months.. NONE of that wait time was any fault of Mackin's. There was a major part for my truck that they needed and none were available in the US until a couple weeks ago. As soon as that got to them.. BOOM! They hit the ground running!! One day I stopped by just to see what's going on, as I kind of envisioned my truck sitting in a field, with critters nesting in it while awaiting the parts. Wrong, it was stored in a climate controlled super nice warehouse all cozy and protected. I'm terrible with names most times, but, Alex was who did my estimate and first bunch of questions. But Lauryn was who put up with the main barrage of stupid questions and ideas. She was so patient, kind, friendly, professional and kept me informed through all this ANNNDD put up with my crap. She deserves a huge raise! I'm so happy with the workmanship and quality of overall service I received from Mackin's that I'll surely be back if ever I need body work. However, I think they know what I mean when I say, I hope I never have to see them again!! Unless it's to pop in with my puppy and lunch. Oh!!! If I could give zero stars..... I took my daughter-in-law's PT Cruiser for an estimate - broken window and damage to the window frame due to burglary. Was told the damage was to the frame of the door and would need to replace the door. The glass company pointed out the damaged part was a trim piece held on with three screws. My daughter's vehicle was hit and we had the car towed to Mackin's because of the great Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, it was going to be an out of pocket repair, and the cost was prohibitive because of the age of the car. So, even though we did not get the car repaired there I cannot believe how kind and helpful Alex was. It took us the entire week to figure out what to do with the car, and they were so pleasant and understanding of our situation. If a business who is not making a penny off of you is that cooperative, I can't imagine that they wouldn't take equally great care of all of their customers. Thank you Mackins! read more

Incompetence meets friendly customer service is how I would describe this place. I was in a hit and run and took my car to several locations to have the damage assessed. While Mackin's quoted me higher than everyone else, I actually decided to move forward with them because the initial customer service that I received was the best. That is the last positive thing I have to say. After emailing the person that assessed my damage to confirm that I wanted to move forward, I was asked for my claim number so that they could coordinate with my insurance company. Eli, the person that I spoke with, let me know that they would take care of it from there and would reach back out when they were ready to make the repairs. After a few weeks of waiting, I reached back out. I assumed that the delay was because of difficulty in locating parts. When I called in, they had no record of my claim number. The person then began to review the initial assessment and told me that they were incapable of acquiring several of the parts needed. This was clearly not something that had been attempted and worked on, but something that was quickly realized while glancing over the order form. They also let me know that after reviewing the assessment, they were hesitant to do any work because they anticipated needing to do more work once the work began and could not guarantee their ability to complete it. If all of this had been mentioned to me in a timely manner, I would have been very understanding. What happened though was that I was promised a lot, ignored, and then after following up myself, told that there was nothing that could be done. I now need to find a new location to make the repairs, delaying me weeks and weeks more. You can give this place a try if you are willing to gamble a lot of time and energy. If I can't trust you to even look at the car and follow up, how could anyone trust you to actually start working on it. read more

Professional and friendly and also did good work on my car. All that being said I had a terrible experience with them. My car had a dent in one of the doors and the whole passenger side of the car had to be removed and painted after the dent was removed. I called them the first week of May. They said that I had to make an appointment the get a quote. I got one for the following week. Then they said I couldn't make an appointment until the other party's insurance responds to them. "It could take until the end of the week." I called them late on Friday and they said "yes, they responded but they need to know if they are going to cover a rental car." When were they going to call and tell me? 5 mins before close? I told them yes, and that I'd like to make an appointment (since I knew the insurance was going to approve the body work) and they told me again "you can't make an appointment until they approve it." So I asked if I could make a different appointment for something else (rather than waiting another week to make an appointment) and I was able to...for August 2nd. They should have called me and made that suggestion for me so I didn't have to keep waiting to wait. I brought in my car in on August 2nd and got a rental, which costs insurance out of pocket for every day I have the car. They said they would call me by the 5th to tell me the status. They never called me so I waited until the end of the day to call them. They said it would take 2 more weeks ", as long as they get the door in my Friday the 12th. When would they have called me to tell me this? The door was delayed twice (they should have had it by the 1st if not the 5th) which wasn't their fault. But other than the side of the car being taken off, no work got done on it in about 10-12 days after dropping it off so I could have been driving it rather than paying for insurance on the rental. They didn't call me so I called them back at 4:30 and asked about it. They said "it SHOULD be done and ready by the end of the week but either way, we will call you." When we're they going to call me to tell me this? Once again, I waited around all day to call me (expecting them to tell me it wouldn't be done until after the weekend) and had to call them at 4:30. They said "yeah, it's being touched up, you can pick it up now." When we're they going to call me. 5 mins before close when I was across town and had to fill the tank. I got there 12 minutes to close and they told me that the rental place would charge $15 per gallon that it's not filled but the gas station is close. So I raced to the gas station, got back in time and they said "it's a good thing the gas station was close." I said "No, it's a good thing I didn't wait for you to call me...again" I called them 3 times at the very end of the day, each time they basically told me that they were just about to call me. If I didn't call them and make a perfectly logical suggestion, I would have had to wait 2 extra weeks for an appointment, and an extra few days to pick up my car in a rental that was crap. I would have rated higher despite my experience if I didn't have to do their job while I waited to find out what's going on read more

I will start by saying I've used the Macken's before and had such an amazing experience but when I called in to this Macken's i was greeted by a terribly rude and disrespectful woman Chyann who basically just sounded like she was annoyed with me calling. I asked if i could swing by for an estimate since i was going out of town for a funeral. She said Sorry but youre gonna have to wait because they were booked up with appointments all day which i get but then when i was going to schedule i told her my car is a 2002 Subaru and before i said another word she said " NOPE, sorry we dont work on cars that old and therefore we cant do an estimate for you". i was floored with how this woman could be in the customer service industry.. Then when i asked to speak to her manager she stated my manager is just gonna say the same thing. I use to recommend Mackins to all my friends and family but now i will take my business else where. I have no idea how she got hired on and still has a job. Crashing your car is already stressful enough, after that conversation i was upset and stressed. Whenever We called to get any information or we came in to get any information, it seemed the front desk person was very impatient and wanted to do the bare minimum to help. A friend recommended Mackin's Auto Body to me. The entire team at Mackin's Salmon Creek was professional and friendly. Scott Passer set up a same day appointment for us for an estimate to repair a damaged front end...a new bumper and window washer reservoir and pump. We were able to schedule the work and the price was 2/3 of the cost of estimates from other shops. We were kept up to date on the progress of the repairs. The final result was a work of art. The car looks better than it did, even before the accident. Bonus for the detailing...the exterior and interior were immaculate. After an unfortunate auto accident, Mackins Auto Body on Hwy 99 in Vancouver was a pleasure to do business; they made the entire process very pleasurable, walked me through the process step by step, arranged my rental car, and sent me daily text status updates. I dropped my vehicle off at the appointment time, picked up my rental, signed an authorization, and was on my way. They finished the repair three days early! I pulled in, left the rental car there, signed one more paper and drove off! This location did a repair on my car recently. The work they did was excellent- I have a brand new bumper that looks perfect. They went above and beyond by washing and vacuuming my car (basically detailing it), and when my rental car company kinda fell through (not the fault of Mackin's) they gave me a ride to work. They saw I was frustrated and took immediate action. They kept me updated on the process with text messages, which I really appreciated. It was a great experience. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of any car repairs. Also, the invoice I received was a lower cost than I thought it would be. I went through insurance, so didn't have to pay anything, but the parts and labor costs were lower than I anticipated. It was an all around great experience. I brought my vehicle to Mackins in Hazel Dale, Washington. I was very hesitant to use them but I was assure they would take care of "gray areas." They replaced my rear bumper cover which was nice but there was a spot where it was not flush with the rear quarter panel. The explanation was "well it's because of the way the bumper is made." BULLS*** when I asked to see the old/damaged bumper they said "we thru it away!" By law you have to keep damaged parts for at least 30 days. No matter if it's under insurance or if it's out of pocket. So am I even sure that my "new" bumper isn't my old one? NO!! They told me my front bumper was aftermarket but how could they tell me that if they didn't take the whole bumper off!? There are scratches on my driver side door, on the estimate they were going to buff them out. I bet you can guess, the scratches are still there and I was told that they couldn't fix it because they say it was painted before which wasn't "original paint." Could you tell me how you know this? Or is it just some sly trick you try on all your customers to see if they will believe you. I want proof of all the things your telling me, you gave the proof on 1 panel but what about the rest? I was told you would take both bumpers off to assess the damage but the story changed when I went to pick it up. So to answer your question, NO, I'm not satisfied with the "repair" you did on my vehicle, or whatever it is Mackins thinks they did for my car. read more
