Disappointed with sales staff. Paid little attention to what I wanted. Tried to force me to take their deal

It was a balmy 95 degree day, when my Jeep's air-conditioning went out during a 7 hour drive. We had a planned stop in Macon GA, as part of our travel itinerary. To my delight, Five Star was only 1 mile away from the hotel. I called them first thing in the morning and explained my situation. At first, I was told Monday was the soonest they could get me in. But when I added that I was traveling through from 700 miles away, They were able to get me in, to diagnose the issue. The service representative who I worked with, really went above and beyond to get me on the road, with little disruption to our travel schedule. While I was waiting for my car to be looked at, I had a great chat with one of their salesmen, who further gave me some travel tips for the rest of my drive. I truly appreciate all the effort this team gave to helping me out.

Worst customer service experience I have ever had. I purchased a Range Rover in February turns out…read morethat it had a roof leak. Came back seven days later with pictures and video. They said they would fix it. Turns out that after returning to the lot and checking on the status the left the vehicle in the weather including days that it rained, so of course I have pictures and video of that. Told them I was not happy and didn't want the vehicle since they had made no effort to fix it and in fact left it out in the rain after being told it leaked. They then again to get me into another vehicle. They then depreciated the value of the Range Rover that they sold me with a leak and left me upside down in a loan on a Jeep Compass. Not happy with the situation I cut my loss and left. Then because I'm out of state and in Macon due to work, I went home to pay the taxes and get my tag for the Jeep Compass which I'm told is not in my name. Call ALM CDJR Macon and repeatedly get sent to voicemail of the tag clerk and voicemail of management who has full voicemail, so I get no answer. When I finally get someone on the phone, they always state that they will give me a call back which I never receive. Driving with and expired temporary tag I am now frustrated and angry with the treatment. Very upset and always in a time crunch due to the nature of my job I drive to the dealership to see managers and works comfortably seated and relaxed. Knowing that I was upset I left my car running to be in and out as fast as possible so that I wouldn't throw a fit. Tell the manager that I need a resolution and I leave. Not sure how my situation will end but buyer please beware. Also, I'm now looking for a lawyer to seek compensation for the depreciation value that I loss from a car that had a roof leak and the hit on my credit because they did not pay of the Range Rover in a timely manner and I had to continually call and tell them I was getting collection calls for the vehicle that they were to pay off. My next step is to protest in front on their lot with signs until the situation is resolved. They have no idea what they are doing. They even put me in a dirty rental car with the previous customer information and paperwork in it which again I have proof, pictures, and paperwork on. I'm exhausted dealing with this dealership. Never again will I purchase anything from this brand.

Butler Toyota Service has lost my trust. I rarely write reviews, but I am writing this one for two…read morereasons: (1) I believe warning other customers about my experience is the right thing to do, and (2) I hope that one day Macon will have a Toyota dealership service department that operates with integrity. I have been a Butler Toyota customer for more than 10 years and have owned multiple Toyota vehicles serviced there, including a 4Runner, Tundra, and Sequoia. Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars in their service department. I understand that dealerships charge premium prices, and I have no problem paying more for convenience, quality workmanship, and honest service. Unfortunately, honesty is where Butler Toyota failed. The final straw occurred on June 17, 2026. My wife's vehicle was brought in for service, and I was told that every lug nut on the vehicle needed to be replaced because of safety concerns and the possibility that they could not be removed in the event of a flat tire. Later that same day, I brought my truck in to repair a tire with a nail in it. Once again, I was told that all of the lug nuts needed to be replaced and that the tire could not even be removed because of their condition. What makes this difficult to believe is that Butler Toyota has been the sole service provider for both vehicles for years. They have rotated the tires numerous times on both vehicles during the past two years and never once mentioned a lug nut issue. Are we really expected to believe that all 40 lug nuts on two separate vehicles suddenly became defective at the same time? I returned to the dealership parking lot with my own impact wrench and successfully removed and reinstalled the lug nuts myself without difficulty. After I challenged their diagnosis, the explanation changed. Initially, I was told the lug nuts were "rounding off." Later, I was told they were "swollen." I was still able to remove and reinstall them with no issue. What concerns me most is that Butler Toyota originally intended to repair my tire. However, after I questioned their lug nut recommendation, they changed their position and suddenly claimed it was unsafe to repair the tire. I left the dealership with a nail still in my tire despite having purchased the tires there and despite being sold on the value of their roadside hazard warranty. The following morning, another service department repaired the tire in less than five minutes. As a result of this experience, Butler Toyota has lost our business. We have purchased tires from them, serviced multiple vehicles there for years, and spent thousands of dollars in their service department. Yet despite countless service visits, we were never told that either vehicle had lug nut issues until both vehicles were brought in on the same day. I encourage Toyota to investigate how this service department is representing the Toyota brand. Based on my experience, the service department relies on pressure sales tactics and inconsistent explanations to upsell repairs that may not be necessary.

We broke down on our way to Arkansas. We were meeting up with family members also going camping in Arkansas. Our daughter and her family lives in Lizella right outside of Macon. Our truck pulling a 38' camper broke down. Engine lights flashing, gauges overheating. Well you get the picture. Our daughter-in-law recommended a place down the street from their house called Stephens Automotive. We came in limping late Thursday to Arrowhead campground. While we were parking our daughter-in-law went down the road to talk to Stephens. She explained our situation. We were to leave with the group at 5AM Friday. Surprisingly the owner/ manager said to come on over. They would look at our truck. You NEVER get a place to see you if 1- show up on short notice, 2- have deadline, 3- have never met or done business with, 4- around closing time and 5- present them with no chance of repeat business. These wonderful people took our truck, hunted down the parts we needed, and made repairs. In less than 24 hours we were back on the road to Arkansas. If you ever need mechanical assistance go to this local shop. The work is top notch. However, the information given about my vehicle was WRONG and almost cost me thousands of dollars. I took my car in to be diagnosed as the Warranty company said please take it to the dealership in which we did. They tried to tell me that my transmission cooler line had rubeed against a sensor and popped it, causing the transmission to be no good and said they were throwing CVT trans codes when hooked to the scanner indicating the transmission was bad. My husband spoke to them and they said if warranty covered it, the cost would be roughly $4800.00. When they called to let us know warranty was sending an inspector out, and that warranty denied the claim I knew something was up. We have one of the best warrantys you could ask for, warranty caught on to the fact they were trying to get more money out of them. Picked my car up after they told me $7050.00 (roughly) to replace the transmission. We then asked warranty could we get a second opinion, took it to Gibsons Garage (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED), they did confirm the line was busted, and warranty would not cover the line under drive train. However they had NO trans codes coming up. They replaced the line, added a half quart, to a quart of trans fluid, and my cars been good as new, not to mention they saved me almost 7 thousand dollars. I will NEVER recommend anyone to take their car here. Theyre just out for the money and not looking out for their customer.
