We had to make a short line to order our food. They give you a number sign that you place on your table. We didn't wait too long for our food to arrive. My sister had the Iron Man and I had the Berries Pancakes. The food was delicious, but not hot. Food was just warm. My sister had coffee and she said it was good and strong. We stopped by Macondo Caffe for the first time, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The modern decor and cozy vibes immediately made us feel comfortable. We ordered the Mama Mia sandwich and a Cheese Steak sandwich. Both were delicious. For the coffee, we had Affogato and an Iced Mocha. Both coffees were rich and extremely good. What stood out to us, was the friendly staff. Overall, we are so glad we discovered Macondo Caffe, and we can't wait to come back and try more. The entrance evokes the ambiance of a coffee hacienda, with canvas bags of coffee on a platform trailing with tendrils of ivy and plants. The mismatched chairs make the place more cozy and inviting. Like many upscale coffee shops, there are a variety of hand brew methods to pick from, and many types of espresso drinks. Beyond that, they also have an extensive food menu. Besides the standard baked goods and breakfast items, there are paninis, pizzas, salads, wraps, burgers and even arepas and empanadas, the full spectrum running from vegan to salmon and steak. Not to mention they also carry a line of gluten free bakery goods as well as a shelf of wine. So whether you want just a bite to go with your coffee, or need a full scale meal, there's likely something for you. I enjoyed their coffee, smooth and rich. Their carrot arepa is a little drier and less fluffy than the original - I can see how someone may dislike it, but I enjoyed it fine. Feeling like a nice Sunday brunch without having to drive east, Macondo in Kendall hits the spot. Greeted when I came in, I walked towards the cash register to place my order and was handed a menu. They have a good amount of options for both food and coffee as well as some pastries. You get a number after placing an order and can go get a table where they'll bring your food out for you. I stopped by this spot after a workout and man, what a hit!! First of all, I'd like to say that the decor has an organic feel to it. Loved the vines and handwritten menu on the wall. As soon as you can walk, they have a couple booths where you can work on your tablet, while sipping on a smoothie or meet up with a couple friends for breakfast/lunch. The food came out on a timely manner. Presentation was on point and taste was A-1. I like to get local coffee from places I travel to so that I have something to enjoy for a couple weeks after a trip. I got a Matcha Latte, it was very good, service was quick and friendly. Service is good and they are very patient in explaining their varied options. You can get your coffee made in a variety of ways and strengths. The food is made to order and is super fresh. The wraps are light and flaky but not so much so that it crumbles everywhere..a great breakfast to start the day. I LOVED IT! Another little hidden gem in my neighborhood. They have it all: a varsity of coffee that'll put Starbucks to shame, teqeñios, arepas, aci bowls, pizza, breakfast, wraps, sandwiches, vegan options, they also have mimosas (we love that.) I mean the options are endless. Order at the counter, and pick a seat. The food will arrive in less than 5 mins, hot and fresh. Service is exceptional. Tried this place out after seeing how many good reviews it had. Upon entering, we had to sit where the free water was available. After waiting we were able to sit at a dirty couch and small table. It was fine just had to bend to eat. The coffee was good, nothing out of this world. The Fabio's Plus was pretty good. One half was like eating lox, the other was prosciutto. The vegan pancakes were unique and tasted better than they looked, but definitely wish there was an alternative for butter. Came for Father's Day. Was initially worried about finding a table because the pics on the website made it seem small. Was larger than I thought but groups larger than 5 will have a hard time finding a seat. They have a few tables outside but again better for a couple. We got a booth and added a chair at the end. You order at the counter and they deliver to your seat. Someone came around regularly to bus the table. They are water dispensers on a counter by the window that are self serve. The service was excellent and everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. On to the food. We were 4 adults and 2 kids. Several allergies in the group including nuts and chickpeas which they serve. We advised of the allergies and they were very good about noting them. Nothing ruins fathers day like having to whip out the epi pen. We ordered iron man no eggs, salmon pizza, omelette, mama mia with no pesto, empanadas and tequenos. The omelette was delicious and flavorful. I appreciate the butter being soft and the bread was good. The iron man was a hit except for the potatoes. 4 out of 6 liked them. I was not a fan. We differed on what the seasonings were. Thought maybe curry. The mama mia was good and didnt miss the pesto. The salmon pizza was good but could've been great if the salmon was put on after the pizza was baked. Was very tasty. The tequenos are listed as "to share" but the order is two tiny tequenos so dont count on sharing. The empanadas were exquisite. The pastry is buttery and the fillings very tasty. Had the mushroom and the bacon/egg/cheese. The star of the show is the coffee and the reason we chose the place. The dads are very serious about their coffee and have almost every coffee brewer you can buy. We had cappuccino, regular coffee and the V60. We asked for both V60 to be strong but one came medium. You can really taste the difference. Definitely the strong is the way to go. The medium tasted a little watery. The cappuccino was creamy and didn't need sugar. This was a little out of the way for us but I'd make the trip again. Nice place with industrial decor, background music not too loud and clean, well stocked bathrooms. Macondo was a good "go to spot" whenever i wanted to treat myself to some good coffee. Unfortunatley as the time has passed attendance has dwindled down and today i got an impression as to why that is happening. I arrived an hour before closing, there were 3 people working and every single one of them gave me the dreaded "get out" look upon entering. Which in hindsight i shoulve left at that point and never returned. I ordered my usual Macchiato and boy did it ever dissapoint. Tasted more like warm milk than anything else. As i sat there and attempted to drink this tempid glass of lukewarm milk- i noticed more people walked in and were given similar treatment. Very sad. This used to be a good chill spot to enjoy a cup of good coffee, but i guess well probably be looking for a new spot. read more

Maybe it just wasn't my day. Today was the first time i walked in there. I didn't even know the place even existed. Well today is my birthday and I just wanted to have breakfast somewhere nice and this place has the highest reviews in the area. From walking inside everything looks nice. I almost thought I was about to have a great morning. The first employee greeted me and walked away. I was so lost. There was no sign that says seat yourself so I walked up to the counter to check out the menu but nobody talked to me either so I just walked out. I wanted to try the food so bad I sat in my car for a while checking the menu through Uber eats but after a few minutes of looking I said you know what, just go somewhere else.
