Glad to be supporting local businesses during this time. They have plenty of flavors, and I love the chocolate/nut/creamy varieties more, as they are very smooth and creamy. The fruits are good, but I prefer a more intense fruitiness. The shop is located in the big plaza on Kendall and 137th, on one of those "islands" closer to the Kendall Drive. Love their cute little nutella display by the register!

Authentic Italian Gelato, friendly service, and clean interior. This is a nice little place; if I'm in this area. I'd go here for Gelato, but if I had my pick between here and Doral, I'd go to "Made in Italy" over coming here, just for the closer authenticity (neither are 100%). Here they server Nestlé, but at "Made in Italy" they serve Lavazza, which is authentic Italian coffee. Either way, other than arguments about authenticity, this place is a real gem and I recommend checking it out. Great place to enjoy a cold treat if you are lactose intolerant!

I went with my daughter for a quick ice cream break and it was definitely a great idea to come to this place: It was close by my house Great and ample parking lot A neat place Indoor and outdoor seating area And we had a delicious ice cream. The flavors my daughter chose where tiramisu and coffee. We loved the flavors very much, it was creamy and the texture and taste were on point. We decided to get it on a waffle ice cream cone and this was delicious and crispy.

FINALLY! Some quality gelato in the Kendall area! This is definitely top tier gelato and I loved the variety of flavors. My boyfriend had a cone with raspberry and tiramisu and I had one with almond and cookies and cream gelato. So good! Even the cone was very fresh and tasty. Will definitely be back soon! Very nice shop and the owners were very kind.

Passion fruit and coconut ice cream, amazing!

Picadilly was bought by T.H. "Tandy" Hamilton in 1944. In 1988 they purchased another cafeteria chain, Morrison's Cafeterias which was founded by J. A. Morrison in 1920. At their height, there was 270 restaurants but poor management led to bankruptcy in 2003 and again in 2012 and they were sold off to Yucaipa Companies and Diversified Investment Management Group. By 2012 they were down to only 41 locations. South Florida had two Piccadilly Cafeterias, one in Hialeah at the Westland Mall and on the Palm Springs Mile. Both are now closed butthere is a Facebook page dedicated their memory. Today there are only two locations left in Florida, Jacksonville and this one in Hollywood! I couldn't believe there was still one left here and I made it a point to stop by for lunch.' As soon as I walked in I was flooded with nostalgia. Even the decor looks the same as I remembered. You grab a try and slide it down the line telling them what you want added to your plate. Meals include a protein, two sides, and a bread. You can add more sides for an additional price. They also have a selection of desserts of cakes, pies, and cobblers. Expect to find homestyle dishes like chicken, teriyaki chicken, fish, and fried shrimp. Vegetarians can order the four vegetable plate. I had the roast beef drenched in au jus, carrot souffle, and broccoli rice au gratin. It was all as good as I remembered, especially the decadent carrot souffle which is a dessert in itself. I just found a copycat recipe for the Picadilly carrot souffle and it is getting added to the Easter dinner menu. So many of our memories are associated with food and this was like a warm hug from the past. I started to tell a server how excited I was that there was still a Picadilly left and she said honey we hear that all the time. I gather a lot of their diners come here for the memories. So many of us grew up eating at cafeteria style restaurants with beloved family members no longer here. Eating here is a way to connect to the past. The restaurant was filled on the week day I visited so hopefully they will be here for a long time to come. I am already planning a visit back with a family member who is going to be elated to come here.

So I had to feed my childhood craving and decided in having lunch. I went in with an open mind but I was sad to see, it has not been maintained at all! The inside immediately feels dated nor clean. I decided on a few of the classics. Honestly I only had a few bites of each dish. Food was cold and it had probably been sitting around for quite some time. Within a few hours after having finished my meal, I had gone straight to the bathroom. (Not in a good way). Very sad, I would predict they would be closing their doors soon. The only positive was the service. Everyone was kind and attentive. Great staff!

It was lunch time and the place was actually empty so we were skeptical but gave it a try anyways. Definitely looks like a family owned and family-run restaurant. The menu has a lot of choices. I believe the main dishes were only available for dinner so we went with the breakfast and lunch option. Steak, egg, toast, coffee- hubby got this breakfast special and the portion was huge! Look at the plate. It was a big slice of steak, 2 eggs (scrambled) fries, a side of bread and a cup of coffee. We could have totally shared the one entree and be full for 2 people! The price definitely beats the portion. Steak sandwich- I got the sandwich which was also big in portion. It came with chips fries on top. The sandwich had onions and lettuce, tomatoes. It may not be the tastiest meal but it def satisfied our belly and our wallet. The service was great. The guy who took our order was very nice and the lady seems like she didn't speak a lot of English. The food was not salty so more on the bland side so you can definitely dress it up with sauce. We would definitely stop by here again if in town to try their dinner menu. Price definitely is great for budget friendly people :)

There is absolutely nothing touristy or manufactured about it. Stainless-steel tables, red plastic baskets, a busy counter, family photos covering the walls and a dining room full of people who clearly come here all the time. And the sandwiches are HUGE. Enriqueta's, opened in 1964, is best known for its Cubano and pan con bistec, but Rachel and I shared a medianoche, a tortilla con chorizo y queso and something called the "Super Cheese" with bacon. That last one is basically an enormous griddled pile of bacon and molten cheese barely contained by Cuban bread. I also grabbed some empanadas to take on the plane. The tortilla was beautifully browned, packed with chorizo and cheese, and substantial enough to be a meal by itself. The medianoche had the proper soft, slightly sweet bread, pressed crisp around a serious amount of pork, ham, Swiss, mustard and pickles. Nothing dainty happening here. The iced café con leche is also extremely strong. I will not be falling asleep on the flight out. Best of all, we got to meet the boss herself, Lucia Plá, the beloved matriarch on Saturday morning, greeting customers. Her husband, who bought the diner in 2000, Jose Luis, passed in 2019. This is the classic Cuban diner experience--a completely different vibe from Versailles or La Carreta. Smaller, more personal and much more like Puerto Sagua: a real neighborhood restaurant serving real people, with no interest in becoming a theme park version of itself. I'll definitely be back.

Located a couple of blocks off a major road (Washington Ave.), Las Olas Cafe felt like a hole-in-the wall neighborhood joint - a team of off-duty police officers were enjoying their dinner inside the restaurant, and families were eagerly lined up at the to-go window outside the restaurant. As I waited in line to order, I perused the menu, which included breakfast items, coffee, and a variety of sandwiches. Even though there were only a couple of customers ahead of me in line, each meal was made-to-order before the next order was taken. This meant that the staff prepared about half a dozen coffees, a couple of smoothies, and several meals before it was my turn to order. When I finally placed my order for a Cubano sandwich, I waited about 20 minutes for my food to be prepared. My sandwich was served piping hot, and I eagerly took my food to go so I could enjoy it at the beach nearby. Despite the wait (about an hour from the time I arrived at the cafe despite the short line), my food was delicious. The sandwich was stuffed with crispy shredded pork and ham, and a generous amount of mustard, melted cheese, and pickles pulled it all together.

They have outside tables you can dine and I loved that the whole area is decorated in an airport theme throughout the property. There was even a set of airport waiting seats and luggage as you make your way on the plane. Roaming the ground you will see adorable roosters, hens, and their babies which is super adorable. You place food and drink orders inside the cabin of the plane where you can also see the cockpit. They had the viral Dubai chocolate and strawberries along with sandwiches, pastries, and coffee beverages. Their sugar croissant was a must. Service was friendly and warm.
