My friends and I had been planning a month in advance to meet up for dinner, only to realize it was Cinco de Mayo. We figured only Mexican restaurants would be packed, but nope! Not 100% sure if it was due to the holiday, but we were told an hour wait. There's plenty around, so we had a beer and went over an hour later. We weren't seated until about 20 min later. I think it could have been earlier if the restaurant does what others have done during COVID: 90 minute time limit. There were people there clearly an hour in and still there when we left 90 minutes later. Glad they were having fun though! I got a takeout order today during the covid quarantine. I got the lobster roll, and fried chicken sandwich. I would consider both to be fairly expensive for the amount of meat you get. Especially the chicken sandwich. Both were good though. The lobster roll was tasty but definitely expensive based in the amount of meat given. With a nice toasted roll. The fried chicken sandwich had only half of a chicken breast so was definitely small but had good, if not great... flavor. We came here for happy hour during a week day and while I understand businesses are trying their best to accommodate customers, we didn't even receive any service. We were seated at a table outside and were told that we needed to limit our time to the table to an hour. Ok sure I get it. The server that seated us never came by to check on us even after 10 minutes of us trying to get her attention. There were two servers working and neither of them made eye contact and only tended to literally every other table except for ours. The thing that was upsetting was that other tables that were seated AFTER us got their waters and drinks before we could even put in our order. Well, we wanted to savor these, and have them as dessert after dinner. The anticipation and build-up fell extraordinary short in flavor. The two flavors we got were key lime pie and berry pie. For the key lime pie, the crust was completely hardened at the bottom of the jar. And pretty salty. I could barely scrape it up to eat with the key lime filling on top. Which was way too runny. And the berry was the opposite. All salty crust on top, and berries at the bottom. I'm not sure if the whole pie in a jar works. Open during COVID! My daughter and I had a lovely outdoor dining experience while we were running around Polk doing errands. First, their outdoor seating is really solid, comfortable, and a GREAT place to people watch. It was evening and the owner brought out heat lamps (though we didn't actually need them). Second, the food is yummy. You have to get the pretzel - they are homemade and come out warm. My daughter LOVED it and suggested that they make one sprinkled with cinnamon sugar;) She also enjoyed the mac n cheese which uses high-quality cheese. I loved the lobster roll - it's a simple preparation - fresh lobster and served on a toasted buttered bun that has a hint of sweetness perfectly complementing the lobster. Amazing experience! Food and staff were amazing! We came here to celebrate one of my good friend's birthday and it. did. not. disappoint! I work as a manager as well so I'm a little bit more sensitive and judgemental when it comes to the industry. Especially with what's going on right now, everyone is trying to put quote times on tables to ensure a proper rotation of guests. We didn't feel rushed or anything. I guess one of the downside that i have about the place was the music was very loud that it's hard to understand one another. I understand to be honest since its by the sidewalk and they want to gather as much patrons as well as to maintain the atmosphere. We ordered the chicken tenders which were so crispy, the lobster roll, fries (don't make the mistake we made, and just order one for the whole table!), the chicken sandwich, and the skirt steak. We ordered food last night for my birthday and it was a bit disappointing. My lobster roll tasted very fishy (never had this happen before) and there was way too much black pepper on it. I came here the other night and received some of the best service by three extremely friendly and hardworking bar men by the names of Jake, Aaron, and Jorge! We had a whole bunch of food from the mussels and lobster roll to the fries and chicken tenders! Everything was really good! The lobster roll definitely had more than enough lobster(which is often a problem at lesser establishments). The drinks came quick, and all were quite balanced I particularly enjoyed the drink called "Simply the Best." Definitely appropriately named.
