Vibes

Best thing about this place is the interior, but I was disappointed in the food. Service was decent. We came for happy hour from 5-6, discounts aren't too steep 3 dollars off regular price cocktails. I accidentally ordered an old fashioned margarita instead of a regular one, they were kind enough to remake. Hibiscus margarita was good but nothing to write home about. We had tacos and churros. The tortilla on the taco had good flavor but the filling was dry and uninspired. It was grilled chicken tacos and they were quite literally only grilled chicken. The churros were a tad overdone but not bad. I wouldn't come back here unless I needed quick drinks in the area.

Mezcalito Burger

Excellent happy hour. I had the $10 burger with fries and a glass of wine for $8. The burger was so good. The caramelized onions and house sauce really made it top notch. The bartender was fantastic.

Surf & Turf Tacos and chicken fajitas

The service was good but the food lacked taste. It was really bland and could have used some seasoning like salt or garlic! The food came out quickly so we didn't have to wait which was nice. Their Cadillac margaritas were tasty though. The music was too loud for people to have a conversation. The couple next to us had to speak loudly to hear each other.

Ceviche

Quick service and number of items on menu. We started off with chips and salsa and moved how thin and crispy the chips were. I got the ceviche and it was good, but probs should have gotten something hot since it was so cold. My partner got a steak quesadilla and loved it! Margaritas were good too! The spicy one is spiiiicy and the seasonal one had a good sweetness - I think it was Jamaica! Lots of people coming here for the happy hour burger, will have to try next time!

Mezcalito is such a fun and chill Mexican restaurant with great food and fun drinks! Every time I've been here I've gotten the quesadilla and I have never been disappointed. While they don't have hot sauce, their spicy salsa is so good and addicting. If you get Kenji as your waiter you won't be disappointed! He was so attentive and fun! Will be back to try and make it to their happy hour and maybe get a flight!

Specials

Never disappoints! I was there for happy hour and got their burger. Only $10 and definitely one of the best burgers and fries in the area! Also they have a new "girl dinner" that they added to their specials which I am excited to try when I am back next.

Stopped by for taco Tuesday even though we didn't end up getting tacos . You can get 2 tacos for $12 all day long. They also have a great happy hour deal on week days. The pull pork quesadilla was amazing and I highly recommend their spicy marg or one of their mezcal cocktails. Great place for dates or a girls night out!

Tacos & chips and guac
Serena M.

Nice ambiance and really kind service, but the price is high for what you get. The tacos were super yummy, but around $8-10 per taco. Chips and guac were solid, but nothing special. Good for happy hour, a date or somewhere to catch up with a friend where the ambiance is doing the heavy lifting.

Scallop tostaditos (bite size)..small but yummy.
Ang D.

Chips and salsa were tasty. Scallop tostaditos were yum also. Only reason this is 3 stars is because Drink came out after we were done with dinner, and waiter seemed too busy to truly take care of us. We asked for receipt and waited and waited...finally decided to leave. Cool outdoor patio and lighting.

Corn appetizer.

I walked in with a friend at 6pm on Saturday night. It was just crowded enough to get a window indoor seat. Awesome. Happy hour on a Saturday so my friend got the tacos. I decided to get the kale salad. We shared the corn salsa-y with chips appetizer. Great service to take our order and give recommendations. Then our server left. Once we saw her again it was after we already asked someone else for a to go box. My salad definitely needed a knife to cut up the lettuce kale pieces. It was more work than I wanted because the bites were too big unless I chopped my own salad. Prices were good for Russian Hill. I could see going back and sitting at the bar.

Happy Hour Burger with extra house sauce. $12.00 as of June 2025

I love coming here for the happy hour specials and the awesome vibes! They've got a solid lineup of food deals, but the happy hour burger is the real winner--just $12 for a seriously tasty bite!

though this is technically a restaurant, I usually come here for the cocktails. Honestly, it's probably the best cocktail bar in the area tied with Bar Iris. They have an excellent mezcal and tequila cocktail list, plus a lot of more culinary-style drinks that feel thoughtful and well balanced. I almost always order the mezcal Negroni, but there are so many good options that it's hard to go wrong.

Enchiladas Suizas

Cool ambiance and great margaritas. Highly recommend ordering any margarita and the enchilada suizas. Great spot to hangout with friends.

The upstairs area is pretty cute with a large table, and the groups there can often get very loud FYI. Drinks were good too.

Kids?? Is it friendly enough for kids where mom and dad want to get out?

This really isn't a place to bring children. It's really an adult place maybe with teenagers but not children or babies. If mom and dad wanna go out, they should get a babysitter.

I feel right at home when I step into this bar. Plenty of space and a huge bonus: dogs are allowed! Do yourself a favor and go visit one of the best bartenders in town, Ali. This place has that perfect North Beach neighborhood bar chill and welcoming vibe, like a classy dive where you can watch the game or just chat for hours. The cocktails are next level: tried a few that tasted like grown-up root beer floats and Orange Julius vibes, super creative and balanced without being too sweet. They've got solid classics too if you're not feeling adventurous. Walls are covered in cool local SF photos and art that make it feel proudly San Franciscan. Only street parking available but there's plenty of bus lines that drop you off in ths neighborhood & there's no food served onsite, but they brought in complimentary Golden Boy pizza for the game watch party which quickly went into my stomach after downing a few cocktails. Staff was friendly and on point, and it's great for locals or anyone wanting elevated drinks without the pretension. Perfect pre-dinner spot in North Beach or for a full night out.

Memories. Oy the…read morenights we spent here back when it was the Washington Square Bar & Grill. And then Cobalt. It wasn't just pre-pandemic, it was when north beach was uber community oriented. *sigh* Those days may be gone, but petite lil's is filling that sense of community void rather nicely. As soon as we walked in, we perched ourselves at the bar, & we were made to feel nothing but welcome. I had H with me, & she & I tend to do that thing where we "don't know" what we should order, as if we've never been to a bar before, even though god knows, we have. We are many things, but ingénues are not one of them. No doubt it would be a tired game for a bartender lacking in prowess, personality, & patience. Fortunately for us, you won't find that kind of bartender here. Because we are not ingénues, our days of ordering silly things (fireball), "insider" things (green chartreuse, fernet), or just stupid things (fireball) are happily behind us. We are Napa Valley & wine lovers so of course we naturally default to wine. Another truth that makes that initial game of "what should we get" so ridiculous. After carefully perusing the impressive menu, we did order wine, but we noted the martini and Negroni options. Hungry? The menu is full of stellar options; caviar, oysters (both raw or broiled), steak frites, charcuterie...even French omelettes. They do a "booth steak," a 32oz tomahawk! $99 (limit only 2 per night). We had such a great time, instead of meeting up with my husband elsewhere when he got off work as planned, we had him join us here. I saw his face light up when he saw that tomahawk on the menu so needless to say it's now on the list. It's a huge space (always was), so it's perfect for a night out w all your peeps, & any game day/night. It was our first time, but we were treated like we've been here a hundred times. Everyone was. Incredible menu. Great vibe. We will be back for dinner and... everything. 5 stars

This happened in the winter- "Owner" screamed at a woman for closing the door. It was a giant fuss on an absolute cold March night and the owner just seems to make a sport out of embarrassing patrons who were trying to keep warm. Apparently North Beach is the best 'hood in the city for nightlife...right now…read more IF I was still in my 20s, I would start the night off at Monroe for Battle of the Decades where drinks start at $1 at 5 pm and increase by $1 every hour until 10 pm. We did a little weekend day drinking at Legacy and when we saw customers sporting their Frisco gear, we knew we were in the right place! Sorry but it's Frisco, The Sco, or The City, it's NEVER San Fran. For those who disagree, tell that to Mac Dre, Too $hort, and the Hells Angels. Plus, Herb Caen eventually took back his "Frisco" stance. Anyhow, after Legacy, I would move on to watch the midnight ballerinas on Broadway and end the night smashing faces with a Golden Boy!
