I recently took my 2019 BMW X5 to the dealership because the automatic headlights and windshield…read morewipers had stopped working. After diagnosing the issue, they told me that a piece of weatherstripping around the sunroof had come loose, allowing water to leak into the car. The moisture had begun corroding the wiring connection for the rear passenger light. Whenever that light flickered or went out, it caused a chain reaction that affected other features, including the auto wipers. The dealership's proposed solution was extreme: they recommended replacing the wiring harness and light assembly, installing new weatherstripping, and even putting in a brand-new headliner. Their estimate? Just over $6,000 before tax. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion and brought my SUV to Addison Body Shop and Glass. The owner, Mike, took a careful look and immediately reassured me that most of the dealership's recommendations were unnecessary. Instead of replacing parts, he reattached the weatherstripping, cleaned the light and its connections, and carefully treated the minor water stains on the headliner. By the time he was finished, everything was working perfectly--and the headliner looks spotless. The difference in cost was night and day. Addison charged me only a fraction of the dealership's quote, and the work was completed quickly and professionally. Mike was upfront, honest, and clearly more interested in fixing the actual problem than in padding the bill with unnecessary replacements. I left feeling relieved and extremely grateful. Addison Body Shop and Glass saved me thousands of dollars, restored my SUV to perfect condition, and proved that there are still shops out there that value honesty and quality workmanship. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I see all the bad reviews...but I can only say that the front bumper for my 2017 Mazda CX5 arrived…read morewell-packaged, well-painted, and well-sized. I installed it this afternoon and it fit perfectly and looks great. Mazda red paints are somewhat intricate to mix and apply but they did a super job. The color is very slightly different from the original, undoubtedly due to the aging of the original, but it is not noticeable. Some difference is inevitable without on-site paint matching, and even that is often imperfect. There are no runs or other imperfections in any visible area. However, it did take several weeks longer to arrive than promised. Ordered May 11, reported "in paint department" on May 19, I asked about it on June 9, they responded on June 11 that the paint was curing, and part arrived on my doorstep on June 17. This part was an easy swap as these things go and the steps were well-explained on YouTube. I saved $1000 on the quote my usual local shop gave me for the job. I wouldn't do it online again if their promised delivery time was critical to me, but I am happy with the outcome for this situation.

UPDATE AUG 2026: After 6 weeks of not receiving my shipment and being ghosted by Chicago Auto…read moreParts, the bumper was delivered completely out of the blue to my house. By that time, I had called/emailed with them hundreds of times with no response, and had already replaced the part by another company. NOW I'm in a fight with them through my credit card company, because Chicago Auto Parts is saying that I have the part. So now I have TWO bumpers, and what started as a frustrating inconvenience is now costing me over $600. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company. Try Paint N Ship instead, www.paintnship.com, where I ordered and received my replacement part in perfect condition, in the time they promised. Compare their 5-star reviews to Chicago Auto Parts' 1-star reviews from people like me who have been burned by their unscrupulous and unethical business practices. Don't waste your time or money.
