If you have a nice car, chances are, not nice things are going to happen to it at some point. Such was the case with my new, pretty Mercedes when some inconsiderate person took out the side of my new car while it was parked, left no note and left me with damage of almost $11,000 and a car that wasn't so pretty anymore. I had used Westmont Body Werks for repairs on another Mercedes previously. I knew the quality and the caliber of work that they do, so when my insurance company suggested another "run of the mill " place nearby, I suggested Westmont Body Werks to them and they agreed. My contact was Bret, and from day one he communicated what stage the car was in, what the insurance company approved, when it was being painted and when it was anticipated to be finished. Not that I wanted them, but I even got "work in progress" pictures of my baby all torn apart. And when I finally got the call that my car was ready for pick up (it took about 6 weeks all in from insurance approval to pick up)- other than the paint smell, the car was detailed, shiny and new just like the day I picked it up at the dealer. I am a bit of a perfectionist and Westmont Body Werks has met my high standards both times I've had to use them. Hope you never need a body shop. These folks did major work on a year old Audi and I could not be happier. I was torn between wanting the insurance company to call it a total vs getting my car back (which was a bit hard to find). Given the extensive damage and costs (about 70% of value of the car), I'm literally shocked that everything went back the way it did and that the car looks so good. I'm sure it's phantom limb syndrome but it actually feels like it drives better than when I first got it. I guess 3 months in a rental will do that to you;) I've had a couple returns for minor stuff and they have handled each visit with open arms. Jason was my rep and did a great job. Even their front desk person (name escapes me) is a delight, and their weekend guy who got me my car was a real pro. I was warned they take their time, but they admit it and wrap that in quality and finish. It was worth it. During a mid-repair visit, Jason gave me a full tour, showed me my vehicle with the entire engine out, and explained process, timing, and next steps. I had a moments thought of giving them 4/5 stars, which I think is still great, but they've given me zero reason to do that. I hope this thing holds together!! read more

I took my 2012 SS50 to Westmont Body Werks(WBW) which had been hit in a parking lot leading to over $5k of damage. I've worked with various body shops over the years, but have never seen an operation like WBW!! They got me in the next day for an estimate and Ray took it from there! Not only did they do a fantastic job on the car, but they also hand waxed it before I picked it up!! WOW!!! Ray and his team are top notch all the way! My experience with this body shop has been a NIGHTMARE, and I've received terrible customer service from Scott! Brought my car in on a Monday morning for a simple tail light repair and bumper replacement. I was told they had all the parts in stock and would have my car done by the end of the week. Almost 2 weeks later, I still don't know when the repairs will be complete. Each time I'm given a completion date, I have to call THEM to find out that nothing has been done. This has happened 4 times!! The 4th time Scott tried to string me along yet again, and I told him another 5-day delay was unacceptable, he actually offered to return my car to me with zero work done... after the shop has already had my car for nearly 2 weeks. Then he said he would talk to his manager and call me back, but he didn't follow through on that either. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague! read more

About a year and a half ago my insurance company referred me here after an enormous tree branch did about $4000 worth of damage to my foreign car in a storm. The tree fell directly on my sunroof/roof of the car. Not only did insurance recommend them, but the car dealer did as well. They were "luxury car specialists" sure ok. What a mistake, we had to take the car back 3 times. Sunroof is still not the same and doesn't open and close smoothly or properly. Basically I gave up. The second time we took the car there, one of the employees stole the emblem off of my car right in the lot. this left a huge gash from the way they ripped it off the car. I walked up to my car and immediately noticed and said something. Their response was "are you sure it just didn't fall off on the drive here?" YEAH I am sure I didn't see a 2 inch gash on my black car. Are you kidding me? The employees here really don't care about anything. Once they get the insurance check you are done. Zero customer service, zero integrity. They don't even deserve one star. Horrendous. read more

This place is terrible. The Laurel dealerships should really rethink its endorsement of Westmont Body Werks as its go-to body shop. We have had to take our cars here three times now after fender benders. Each time, it has taken at least three weeks to get our car back. Each time, Westmont Body Werks is unable to tell us how long it will take. Each time, they are virtually non-responsive when you call. Our most recent visit was after someone skidded into our car while we were out of town and smashed in the driver's side. Not only did it take OVER A MONTH for them to fix the car, the driver's side now whistles at higher speeds. It's not worth it to take it back, because the car is older and I don't want to wait another month to get it fixed. read more

So I had placed my vehicle there to be repaired and was all game since it was Mercedes certified. I read the reviews and became a little concerned based on the comments. So I called and spoke with the lady that was handling my vehicle and voiced that I had concerns and guess what she said. Nothing not a darn thing, other than you moving it to another shop ok. That alone confirmed my concerns with the shop. Long story short - I had to pay with my credit card in order to get my car back while insurance was settling with them. It has been now almost 4 months and I can not get hold of them and get my money back. Had to dispute charge. So frustrating. Their customer service is beyond horrible - I had the manager from Laurel BMW to get involved in order to reach the owner of WBW as he is the one who is handling the paperwork. That was 2 months ago!!! And still no progress - they admit that they owe me money but do nothing... As for their work - they are not what they are tried to represent - the bumper they painted has at least 5 "fish eyes" - it is not painted properly. I had a really bad experience here. When I first brought my car in for an estimate they made me sign a commitment to have the work done at their shop. I agreed because the insurance company of the person who ran into me was supposed to pay. But State Farm fell through and I ended up having to take my car for an estimate elsewhere and then bring it back to Westmont Body Werks a la my insurance company. The other body shop estimated about half of what Westmont Body Werks estimated. Then they had my car for 9 days for what I was told would be a 3-4 day repair. THEN they failed to properly reattach some things after they replaced the fender, so I found myself in the middle of a blizzard and my car was unable to hold any wiper fluid. In addition, when I initially brought my car in I had another estimate done for the other side of my car (where someone had backed into me the same week. It was not a good week.) I didn't end up having this work done at their shop because on the estimate they simply "forgot" to put about $700 of work on. Then when I brought it in to get repaired they informed me of their mistake. I took it elsewhere and had the work done for about 1/3 of the price they estimated. They were also VERY sure to keep telling me how their work was superior to everyone else's work, and how all the other body shops just cut corners. If you have State Farm Insurance, which is affiliated with this auto shop, I'm sure things go much more smoothly. But even then, I would say forgetting to reattach things that are under the hood is a pretty sever misstep. read more

Picked up my BMW X5 90k car and they did a horrible job painting the bumper. I would never recommend this place. They had my car for over a week and I have to take to back tomorrow. I have an import starter luxury car that another driver backed into. Westmont came very highly recommended by two different people who drive serious luxury cars and have lived in the area a very long time ( think Porsche/BMW/Mercedes) - I think the essence of the recommendation was 'don't even think of going anywhere else. They might take a little longer but they do the best work.' I have to say my friends were 100% right. When I walked in, you can see that Westmont is certified in repairing a number of different import makes (Acura, Mercedes, etc) and are a 5 star facility as ranked by USAA. From the initial estimate of time to the day of delivery, their info was spot on. From the beginning, Westmont worked really quickly with the other insurance company, and also pointed me the right way on a rental company. Further, the communication during the job was great - regular progress pics via email were a nice touch. Given that the repair took a full three weeks, you naturally get antsy, and emails and phone calls helped to understand where everything stood The final product is simply spectacular - it looks like nothing ever happened, and that's the ultimate testament to the quality of work. I would be leery of the other reviews that complain about timing. Car repair plus insurance is complicated and time consuming, and Westmont was totally upfront about the process and why things took the time they did. If you have a choice, Scott was an absolute pleasure to work with, and now I'm happy to be able to recommend Westmont as well. read more

My Aston Martin got into a major accident and there was really no other shop that was qualified to work on this type of car in the area so I really had no choice. I was a little scared from the 3 star review on yelp but I'm happy to say they did a very good job of evaluating the car. It turns out the car had extensive damage and the insurance company decided to deem it a total loss and not repair it. I can't really speak for any quality of repair but they were able to accurately give a repair value which says a lot. I was very pleased with how their customer service dealt with my case. It took them a while as they had to disassemble the car and inquire about all the part costs so they weren't very fast but they did give me regular updates. I guess I would be upset if that was my only car but luckily it's not. In the end it was sad to see my baby in that bad a shape but at least they properly helped my insurance company decide correctly for marking it as a complete loss and reimbursement for the current value of the car. Now I just have to decide what my new toy will be :) I will definitely feel better bringing my other cars here but hopefully I don't have to. You can bring your higher end car here and feel good. Just expect them to take a little while but other than that no complaints. read more

She really waste your time and energy, I was new to this place and I went beleiving that she might help me in getting my Car fixed. She literally made me come three times to collision center and says all lame things that your insurance might not cover this, and whole lot of bullshit. I was a little hesitant to go here because of some of reviews j had read previously but my Lexus dealer (McGrath) next door highly recommended then. I am happy to say I am very satisfied with the work they did! My insurance company wanted me to go to someone else but they were going to put after marker parts in my car and I wanted OEM parts which Westmont did! Shelby was my contact and she emailed and called me throughout the process. Maybe they had issues with communication in the past but my experience was great and would recommend them in a heartbeat! I brought my car in for a 2 inch scratch. That is it. The window was also scratched, however I chose not to replace it in order to save money. I was told it was a 2 day repair. 11 days later I STILL don't have my car. I am being told "hopefully 3 days from now." Suddenly the window that I did not want to replace *had* to be replaced in order to fix the scratch on the car properly. Some story about needing to remove the window to fix the scratch, and removing the window breaks the seal/gasket and you have to replace the window at that point. I wish I trusted these people, but I don't. My opinion is this place sees an endless supply of money in supplements from the insurance company. My $400 estimate for a 2 inch scratch is now over $1200. Not to mention a rental car at $40 a day for an extra 12 days. My husband's car also needs work after someone hit it in a parking lot. He actually has real damage unlike my tiny scratch. And you can bet we will NOT be taking it to Westmont Body Werks. It might be 3 months before I get it back. read more

I have used this company 3 times, the first 2 times were a great experience, but this last time was the worst. My contact person was Ann Marie, who promised a 3 week job but turned into 4 weeks. Than later denied telling me 3 weeks. My insurance cover up to the 25 days only. In my past experience with AutoNation the service manager went over the time as promised as well, but said would call rental company and tell them they would pay for the rental for any additional days. Ann Marie did not offer this. I had to call the general manager who said he would have Ann Marie take care of the car rental. Checking my bank account I saw where rental car company had taken $ out of my account. I called the rental company was told no one from AutoNation has contacted them. Was told Ann Marie finally called them 2 days before my car was ready. I had left 2 message for AutoNation manger to call me, he never did. Do not think I will never use them again. So my car looks great after incurring $13K in damage to my BMW. However, this is only after I had to take back the car a second time to remedy several problems I discovered with the repair after getting it home for a closer inspection. The only positive was that they did not hesitate to do whatever it took to address my concerns and they provided a brand new Lexus loaner car for free. The original repair took about a week longer than estimated, although there were some extenuating circumstances that contributed to that. The second repair took my car out again for another 8 days. Communication during the process was very reactionary- I always had to reach out to them. Promises to call back at a certain time or day were frequently not met. Despite this, my project manager was quite polite and agreeable. I got the impression he was stretched too thin, so perhaps this is an organizational resources issue. I had my vehicle taken here because of their proximity to laurel BMW and my understanding of their reputation was that they did excellent work. Unfortunately, with this taking 2 jobs and nearly 5 weeks to achieve what I consider great work, I cannot recommend them. read more

These guys are fantastic. I have a 2012 Mercedes that was involved in an accident. Allstate wanted me to go to Geico - I held firm I wanted to go to a shop with technicians certified on Mercedes vehicles. They did a beautiful job repairing the damage and communicated actively along the way. Then, I had not one but three flat tires in one week. Since one of the tires was one they replaced, I called to see if they would change them out for me. Ray and his team we totally accomodating, did the repairs quickly and helped diffuse any stress I had over this happening (who has 3 tires blow in one week)? Dropped my wife car off at 8:30am on a Friday morning as previously arranged with them, for a job that was supposed to take a few hours only. They called us at4:50pm on a Friday to let us know car was finally ready and told us if we were not there by 5:30pm sharp, they would lock doors and we would have to come back another day! We drove there during rush hour traffic, I called them from my car to make sure they knew we were on our way, the receptionist repeated that he doors will be locked by 5:30pm sharp. We got there at 5:30 sharp and asked to speak to manager. Of course , no manager was around. I will reach out to Mercedes Westmont to file official complaint, as they referred us to this place. I was given several false hopes in regards to the completion date of repairing the vehicle. I experienced a lot of frustration not having a car for six weeks. I had a very positive experience at Westmont Body Werks. I had my new car for only two months when an incident from construction debris from one of the local highways caused damage to my car. Scott was my main contact at Westmont Body Werks. He asked that I drop the car off for a few hours, initially, in order to provide a fair, accurate estimate to me. Very great service, our 2014 dodge Durango got in a bad accident on December 19, 2013 and was in the shop for a long time (5-8 months) but it was worth it because the car looked just like new again, and looked like nothing even happened to it, we still have the vehicle to this day, and it drives and runs great, best service ever!
