I have never had better Customer Service from anyone than from MAC Movers. They moved us after 39 years in a big house. Nothing came broken. Nothing was missing. Everything was expertly packed. They were on time everyday. They worked through lunch. The charges were reasonable. They went above and beyond in placing our furniture where we wanted it. In some cases even relocating at Forest. BUYERS BEWARE! I contacted this company May 1,2025 regarding a May 16 2025 unload of my truck. I was told they didn't have anyone for this date since they are booked. The person/SUP I spoke to adv he would post my need for unload help and possibly a couple of the regular movers would want to do it after work as a "side job". The guy who responded to me was very agreeable to receive this "side job" and we agreed on $50 an hour per man, and This mover was going to have one of his coworkers help him. He called me back and advised me his coworker and him both would be here ready to unload my truck for $50 per man per hour. I adv it would take 2 hours at the most. 5 days before the move I texted him to make sure he still remembered and planned to assist me, as well as the day before and BOTH times he responded to let me know both him and his coworker had plans to be here May 16 between 5 and 530 pm CST. The day of the move around 4pm I still had heard nothing from the mover and sent a text to him. No response for over an hour. He responds to tell me his coworker who agreed to help is NOT responding to him. It was obvious this mover had had a change of heart and no longer wished to help me. I told him I am 60 years old and I arranged this two weeks ago to ensure this would not happen. He then texted and told me if I was willing to pay both men $150, they would come over and assist me. At same time he is texting this to me, I am leaving a message for his boss explaining what has happened, hoping he could do something to help me get this completed. THEN right as I saw the text he sent trying to extort money from me, he sent another text saying I have no one to help me and my car won't start. I responded saying, me and him would do it and asked if he could take an Uber here. He stopped responding all together. As a consequence of this mover's irresponsible attitude, I had no choice but to keep the uhaul an extra day as well as drive 57 miles round trip, to pick someone up to help me. That was at 99 cents a mile. As well as the truck fee for the extra day was $39.99 plus 28 for insurance for the extra day. SO, I had to pay $125 extra dollars as well as being stressed out extra due to this company irresponsible workers. There are a lot of reputable moving and storage places to choose from! I would avoid this company! The SUP never called me back. Hey Guys! Thanks for making an already stressful day one million times more stressful! BUYERS BEWARE!!! Mac's was AMAZING! Josh, Shane, and Hunter were friendly, professional, courteous, clear, concise, clean, funny, efficient, and overall made a very emotional milestone move in our lives as stress-free as one could ever hope for! Mac's moved my mom from a 3-bedroom home in IL to smaller townhome in retirement community up near us in WI. We lost my dad beginning of September 2022, and mom made a difficult decision to sell our childhood home and stay the course they'd had to move to WI to be closer to my wife & me. We spent months going through 55+ years of memories to pack up the most important items for this day in February 2023, sold & bought a house in less than 3 months, and frankly we were exhausted. Well, Mac's took the wheel and before we blinked the day was over and mom was in her new home. We will be forever grateful for their brilliant skills from estimation, packing, breaking down adjustable beds and setting up on the other end, and even helping mom decide on where some bigger sentimental pieces might fit in her new downsized home. p.s. Did I mention it was snowy and gross on move day, and they kept both sides incredibly clean. We were on a super tight timeline bc the new homeowners had their walkthrough the next day, so we had to vaccuum and mop on the way out of the house to be able to hit the road and meet the crew up in WI at the new place. Packer didn't care about small things. He packed a small nut for an antique lamp shade ini a wad of paper in a box that had a super lot of paper in it and didn't mark the box. Now we can't use the light that is a 100 years old. No offer to repair it. Would not recommend them. read more

I had a extremely stressful move. A entire household and out buildings from a family estate of 83 years. The packing up of items was ok. I then had to store them for 3 months until we moved to our new home. Moving day came and it all arrived, not to mention I was nervous. They did come with a large crew. How experienced most of these guys were in moving is questionable. I felt like they hired them just for this move. I felt very rushed and it should have been done in two days. It was just too much to get done in one day with the amount of items; plus it was very hot outside in July. I could only work with the guys that were moving furniture into the house. Alot of items were put in the basement and garage. I asked them to be as neat as possible stacking tubs and boxes, leaving a row to be able to access it. They should have had somebody watching and supervising. For when it was all through, is when the nightmare began. It was a mess. Boxes marked fragile had heavy tubs on top, stacks were leaning, furniture was broken, scratched, pictures had the glass broken and the artwork was ruined. Everytime I would unpack things I would find so much broken. I would have to walk away. I was so upset. I contacted the owner and sent pictures all he could say was we did the best we could, Really? He couldn't do anything about the broken items that they hadn't packed, ok. What about everything else like my dining room chairs where the legs had been broken on six of them. I worked as a packer for United Van Lines so everything I packed was as good as it can be with bubble wrap and very carefully done. It would have been broken no matter who packed it the way they moved it. Heart breaking. This company has moved some very large estates and I wonder if they had treated those peoples valuables like mine and gotten away with it. I don't think so, but I paid the same money. I think it was terrible how they treated my property and I have no recourse but to tell my story and warn people to be very careful when choosing movers. I thought I was being careful in choosing them but in hindsight I was duped. Now I have to get so much furniture fixed and glass replaced. I do not think it is right. Curt (owner) was very pleasant and accommodating when making appointment for the move. Delavan to Williams Bay. We had all the boxes and misc. moved over already, they just needed to move the remaining furniture. The beds were already disassembled, and the majority of furniture on the first floor. We were surprised that they insisted to disassemble our antique tables (of which one where the wheel broke). As mentioned above, we were moving 10 mins away. Although, we appreciate care to our belongings, we were not prepared to pay for the time it took to wrap and pack the furniture , as if we were moving cross country. While unloading at the final destination, they seemed determined to keep their truck in uniform condition on our dime. It was mentioned to me earlier in the day that we were the only job for the day, so why they couldn't take time after the move to fold the blankets and organize the truck was baffling. At one point, the owner was in the truck on his cell phone, one helper was off to the side having a smoke, and then the third guy was folding blankets....... We were charged by the hour....Upon final billing, we were charged an addtl. Hour than the original invoice. We were prepared to tip each guy but in the end, decided that we had paid more than our fair share. read more

Overall good experience. They wrapped almost everything in furniture pads and everything was secured on a very clean truck. My only complaints that they charge for drive time to your location (they charge $150/hr for 3 workers) and there is a 3 hour minimum (which I was not told about when I booked them). In total from the time they got to my pick up location until the time they were done at the drop off location it was less than 2 hours. read more
