Our first visit here. It was also our last. My husband had a fish sandwich. It is nothing but a paper thin fish stick, onion rings that had zero onion flavor. I had a patty melt and tater tots. My husband and I like going here for their cheesy garlic bread . We love it!! We decided to try their meatball sub to share. Well, never again. It was not good. We didn't like anything about it. We couldn't even finish it. The "toasted" hoagie bun was soggy and barely toasted. The meatballs were hot/spicy/peppery and too soft/mushy. So, I will just say...pass on the meatball sub. I am new to the area and have been going here for the last few months, at least once a week. I always do a take out order. One of the bartenders is really pleasant and engaging, the other, Josie, is not very friendly. This is the second time purchasing food from Macs pizza. Once from DoorDash, this time was pick up. First time the pizza had pepper packets on top of that were completely opened without any pepper flakes on the pizza. Completely opened and empty packets thrown all over on top of the pizza. It was deliberately done. We called the manager they stated that since door dash delivered, it was nothing they could really do. This time we picked up our pizza and salad.It was very poorly made. The salad was a pathetic mess. The greens were wilted and full of hard rib pieces Not only was the salad not any good, the pizza was completely dry and tasteless. It was also cold. I also called to put an order of cheese sticks in that I wanted to add to my order. It's a Sunday afternoon and I was hung up on twice. I called back and her response was I'm sorry, we are really busy. Wow! Poor customer service. The Cheese sticks were cold and hard. Mac's Pizza is the best in town. We came in on a Friday night around 6:30 and were seated immediately, although there was a short wait for outdoor seating. Our waiter was with us soon after and took our drink and food orders. We started off with the large house salad ($9.99) with honey mustard and ranch. They do not skimp on the toppings, and the dressing was very good. For our pizza, we got a medium with half Chicago Gyro and half Chicken Bacon Ranch ($16.99). Both types were amazing. The Gyro pizza has very flavorful meat and a delicious tzaiki sauce on top. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was also delicious, even for someone who doesn't particularly like ranch. The problem with many local joints is that they are all atmosphere but the food is just OK. Mac's has the goods to back it up. The pizzas are excellent, the sandwiches are top-notch. Tap beer is flat and warm. Especially Mich Ultra. There is literally no head at all on the Mich Ultra. I go to other restaurants and it is much colder and with an actual head on it. I don't understand because this place does a lot of business and the food is good. read more

We've driven by Mac's many times and never stopped in. We decided to drop in and give it a go, and we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't know they had the large volleyball court area in the back, and the patio dining was much nicer than we expected. The pizza was good. My wife thought it was excellent, and I found the pizza to be a little sauce heavy, and it was very herby, which I don't care for. We also tried the cobb salad and the Mushroom/Swiss burger. Both good. I like the bun they use, and I always like it when restaurants have Tator Tots as an option. Overall, the food was good pub food: nothing extraordinary, but a good place to drop in, relax, and hang out. I would rank Mac's as follows. Last Friday night about 9:45pm to closing at 11pm. My son who has been here 4-5 times before because you can get any size pizza GLUTEN-FREE and his friends love the place. I have seen no other place offer more than just a small pizza and this place is his favorite for the taste of them and I agree. He has Celiac so we do our homework to find the limited places. The spinach dip was thick, chunky and hot. Great flavor and a lot of warm, crunchy chips. We shared oneof the best Greek Salads ever!!! It had a great bed of romaine lettuce and was covered like heaven with great toppings of red onion, diced tomatoes, feta, olives, etc. can't go wrong with this either. And they didn't forget he had Celiac and left off bread or croutons and that was very nice to see. Other places forget sometimes. He loved his 16" pepperoni and bacon pizza and you can choose from specialty pizzas that I would love to try half of them. My wings were of good size(respectable but not huge) and had a dry rub that provided great flavor and not overwhelmed the chicken. Loved them that way too but also got three side sauces(charged for two but not told). Their hottest sauce is delicious and painful and I love hot. I think the food and atmosphere deserves ***** 5 stars but the very nice waitress made many mistakes, ignored us while she chatted with another worker and seated friends across the bar that we and the bartender(mgr?) easily saw. It actuality offended us. There was no one around us, place almost empty for this 25 degree cold night last Friday. She was slow to bring drinks(took her time) did ask about drinks soon enough(refills and another beer would have been nice). I had two great beers and many to choose from. Place was really nice and thought out and the background music not too loud like most other places. Lots of tv's for games too. Well Wednesday is a pizza & salad buffet. They truly put out a very good spread. So many toppings to put on a salad, plus dressings. Pizza was delicious & they had about 12 different types with various toppings. The cinnamon pizza bites were excellent. Now mind you they have a wonderful menu with all kinds of delicious food. They have delicious loaded tots & the fried pickles are to die for. Our server was wonderful! She made sure we had our drinks & kept checking on us to make sure we were content. They have a great array of bar taps around the top of the bar & their lights are made from cut down growlers, which give a pretty cool glow. Ate here tonight after a good old trip to kings island. We all were throughly pleasers! They have a great beer selection. Some cocktails specials but I stuck die the $3.50 Bloody Mary Sunday special, the first was just to good not to grab a second, and I'm a pretty picky Bloody Mary gal. We started off with the cheese sticks, which were not cooked to the stringy cheese perfection, save you $9 (which I thought was pretty pricy for 5 frozen cheese sticks). Wish we would have got the garlic bread, it looked delicious. The pizza toppings were plenty and delicious but nothing to call home about. The wings were crispy and so good, but if you are like me and used to butter based sauces, stick to mild. We had medium and spicy garlic, both were pretty spicy to me, but delicious none the less. Good selection of draft beer and reasonably priced. But... The service is really pretty bad, most of the time. We have been here when it's crowded, when it's not. The service is bad MOST of the time. We've also had issues with incorrect bills. It's a shame because so much about this place is great. With more appropriate staffing... This place would be amazing. Our experience this time blew all the negative we experienced last visit out of the water. First, I was so impressed when Harold messaged me personally to invite us back and encourage us to give them another shot. We decided to try it again and were very pleased. It seems like Mac's has worked out the kinks in staffing/flow and we didn't notice any of the rushing and scattered waitress/waiters like last time. Also, we ordered the pretzels again and noticed that the sauce was thicker than last time--which was a big plus. Also, no cold pretzels. Whoop Whoop! I also ordered a small "The Don" (no banana peppers). The meatballs on the pizza were perfect. Crunchy outside, soft warm center. Also, the basil and oregano on the pizza were a perfect seasoning addition. My boyfriend ordered "The inferno" burger and it was SPICY (which he loved). The bun on the burger was chibata-esque and tasted very fresh. The waffle fries reminded me of Arby's curly fries, but fresher---I MEAN COME ON---If I had only known this last time. Delicious! Our server was Allison and was so great. Glasses were refilled before empty and she checked in just enough to be helpful and unobtrusive. My husband & I went here for the first time for Cincy Pizza Week. We were seated immediately & I was able to order Coke Zero (I don't like Diet Coke). We ordered the $8 Cincy Pizza Week Special...10″ Chicago-Gyro pizza...garlic butter and Olive oil base, fresh Spinach, Kalamata olives, tomatoes, red onions, Gyro meat, mozzarella and Provolone and Feta Cheeses, finished with Tzatziki sauce. It was a very good pizza with a saltiness from the olives & the crust was amazing. The atmosphere is a sports bar with a lot of TV screens. There are even TV screens in the bathrooms! Really disappointed in this business. TL;DR complicated ordering system, that if you can get an order through, leads to expensive, average-at-best tasting pizza. Side of COVID: free! This pizza shop was the very first business we chose to support when we entered lockdown. The organization was a mess and lead to a pizza that was ordered 2 hours earlier needing a 25 min wait when picking up. It was early, businesses were making adjustments, so we gave them a pass. We tried to order twice in the past year (before tonight.) Borh times started with an attempt online that after entering all information in a cumbersome ordering system, lead to an error message saying, essentially, "try calling." Calling lead to an endless ringing with no pick-up. I can appreciate being busy or even "sold out," but have info somewhere saying that so potential guests don't waste 10 min to come to that conclusion. Finally, we had success tonight. We STILL entered info online (I triple-checked to make sure it was nothing on our end), and still got an error message. I called, got an answer, and the team member couldn't have been nicer. We got our order in and had it scheduled for pick-up 90 min later (we knew wanted to make sure we slid in before it was busy.) My wife went to pick-up. The pizza had loooong been ready, but there were tons of people for pick-up (an extra person might help.) She also noted no social distancing in the restaurant to an appalling level. $30 for two pizzas that are cold and taste worse than Papa John's. We won't give a 5th attempt. read more
