No knock on the previous food here, but Big Dog is Big League and them being at Grainworks boosts both companies IMHO. Beer is pretty freaking good here, too. "Sentinel" is my go-to. One star because I can't leave zero... Stopped in at 7pm, was told we could sit down and look at the menu and order at the table. There was a group in the very center of the dining area blocking the entire walk way, they did move when we went to walk around to another table. The guy had to remove beer glasses from all the other tables and told us to pick a table. No wipe down. Ok... it's now 7:35, the guys are in the back laughing and having a great time it seems. Wow, I've been eating at Big Dogs since the 90s when it was in west chester and Linda owned it Just picked up a pizza to go, got home, every piece of pepperoni is burnt, the crust is terrible, the easiest pizza to make...pepperoni with extra cheese, absolute shit! We had our first pizza from the Mason location of Big Dog's this past Friday evening and were very pleased. I placed our online pickup order via their website for a 14" pizza with bacon, sausage, and pineapple for $18.40 at 6:08pm. I received a confirmation email stating that our order would be ready for pickup by 6:44pm. I arrived at 6:36 and our pizza was ready for pickup when I arrived, which is great for a Friday evening. The pizza looked and tasted great. Since we usually buy from LaRosa's, I compared prices after the fact for a 14" pizza (a large at LaRosa's) with 3 ingredients. Big Dog's was a couple dollars LESS expensive and that was not counting the fact that the standard amount of cheese at Big Dog's was similar to paying for extra cheese at LaRosa's. We'll definitely be back to Big Dog's in the future. read more

Just had lunch at big dog pizza in Mason, always wonderful! Today was a special surprise, we went to open the door of the restaurant and realize they didn't open until 330 and it was only 1230. Walking back to our car broken hearted, the owner stuck her head out the back door and said "if you guys are hungry and want lunch, come on in since I'm here." SO NICE! Enjoyed our pizza and salad at Big Dog's Pizza. We stopped in after a visit to the grand opening of the FamilyPromise center in Lebanon. The signage was confusing. It said they would be open at 3, but we could see activity inside at a little after noon. We tried the door and sure enough they were open. We ordered a 16" 1/2 vegetable pizza 1/2 pineapple and bacon. Both were good. The cheese was excellent! Pepsi products, so a negative for my wife. They did have draft beer too, but did not try it this visit. We also got a salad to share. Plenty of food and was pleasantly surprised by the pepperoni in the salad. Overall a good visit. read more

After an evening with friends, we decided to visit Big Dog Pizza in Mason and arrived shortly after closing. While walking back to our cars, the Big Dog truck pulled in and the owner gave us 2 fully loaded boxes of hot pizza. Then he also brought us cups and drinks!! Tried Big Dogs mason for the first time. I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars. I really like the variety of pizzas and the large pepperoni slices. Wing are okay. They are baked, which is good, but ours were not crispy enough on the outside. So, give it a try and see what you think. I'm going to try the taco pizza next time. read more

I would not recommend this pizza place and it's not because of the food but because of the owner. When this location first opened and they had wine signs up and beer, signs up, and I asked her about the wine. she let me know they didn't have an alcohol license and they were not able to serve any alcohol. My husband and I ordered our food and a beverage we got water. We took a seat and it was two minutes later the owner busted out of the kitchen and wanted to know if I inquired about the wine. Let me know they didn't have an alcohol license and asked me if I had a problem and if I did I could leave. I told him I would gladly leave refund my money as I had not gotten my pizza and he informed me I would not get my money back. Needless to say, the two of us danced in an argument until I received my money back and my husband and I left never to return. The owner has got anger issues and it's been well documented on other sites.. I also told the owner that I would put this out on social network and he said he didn't care because he was famous and I would never affect him. I'm also reading some of the reviews and it was his fiancé working at the front desk that was ticked off that I asked about the wine and they didn't have the alcohol license so she went in and told the owner that she was upset and that's why he came out and attacked me Verbally! read more

Four stars because this review is based on only one visit. I ordered a pizza and my wife went for the Calzone. We've lived in this area for over 40 years but grew up in Chicago where you can find good pizza by walking two blocks in any direction. I have to say, this is the best pizza I've had since living here. Chicagoans will tell you, deep dish is for tourists. What we really want is a solid pizza with a nice, crunchy crust (not cracker or doughy) and ample ingredients. This one hit it out of the park. The cheese is incredible and what may seem a minor thing, this pizza is served on a cardboard plate which keeps the crust from getting soggy. The pepperoni is massive and comes out crispy. My wife had a similarly happy review of the Calzone. I was a little reluctant to try out this new place because we've been disappointed so many times, but this place came through extremely well. This was lunch on a Saturday and the crowd was sparse. The lone employee let us know she was by herself but the service and product were great. Hopefully, business will increase and the little nits that happen in a new place will be ironed out. We'll be back soon and I'll update the review, hopefully with an extra star. read more

Worst pizza and service I have experienced in some time. We ordered the taco pizza and cheesy bread. After sitting for almost an hour we noticed two other tables received their food before us even though they came in after us. I had to go ask for our food. The cheesy bread was fine. The taco pizza then came out with too much salsa and olives, so the crust was soggy. They dumped a bag of pre-made salad mix on top for the lettuce. It was not good to say the least and I ended up tossing the leftovers in a dumpster. We did receive an apology from the girl working the cash register, but she seemed very frustrated and indicated they only had two people running the restaurant on a Monday night before a holiday.
