Absolutely awful - unless you want to go back multiple times and still have terrible work take your vehicle elsewhere! First time, left a piece too long and it was catching each time the window was rolled up and down on the driver side window. Additionally, back passenger window the tint was cut too short and left light coming through. Called and was told to bring it back. Second time took it back and verified that yep piece was missing, because I couldn't see that! Was told too busy that day had to come back a week later. Third time, had vehicle for over 4 hours when picked up driver window horribly done. Chips in the tint and the wok is awful. Cost me over $65 in gas to drive my Honda Ridgeline from Fernley to the middle of Reno multiple times. Was NOT offered a refund was offered to tint the back window for $40 like that was some great deal! The great deal on the $40 back window was a HUGE waste and I was dumb enough to do it!! The tint on those windows isn't sealed around the edges at all! A great deal would have been having quality work the first time and not having to waste $65 on gas. Additionally, being offered a refund for pathetic work, loss of time, loss of money, and unnecessary miles on my truck would have been a real deal. Instead, the drivers side window is still a nightmare and now I've got to pay to have it stripped by another company and done for the third time in less than 10 days. So instead of going to Mac's shop just put your money in the trash you'll save yourself a lot of trouble and shockingly extra cash as well. I wouldn't recommend this business to my enemy let alone a friend. Horrible service, horrible product, horrible experience. read more

So naturally when my parents got a new Honda CRV I had to get them over to Macs... Quick and painless to buy a gift certificate, but I would recommend using cash so you don't have to pay the atm fees. Just got a brand new Honda Civic, and of course the first thing had to be tint the windows. Amazingly was able to get an appointment the next day, (have been booked out a couple weeks previously) and everything was on time and beyond my satisfaction. I chose ceramic tint in the darkest legal shade, and it looks awesome. Not a single bubble, and all the edgess are perfect. But I was told if they didn't I should bring it back and they would take care of it till they were all gone. These guys are great. I will be taking it back to get the windshield done also. DO NOT GO HERE I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!! I had my windows tinted about a couple weeks ago and had mini bubbles on ALL my windows! Mac looked at it and said this can be redone (acknowledging it came out wrong) but CANNOT be done on a Saturday because it will not be profitable for him. I told him I am unable to get a weekday due to my work schedule and Saturday is the only day and told me "Well that's my fault" and hung up. So much for resolving this in a professional business manner! This is guy ONLY CARES FOR YOUR MONEY NOT QUALITY OR YOUR SERVICE. I brought Mac my old 98 4runner that I've had for a little while now. The previous owner had done a home tint installation that left the glass with a terrible purple hue and did nothing for privacy or heat reduction. I've read in other reviews that the existing film may pose a problem that some shops do not want to deal with. Mac said that there would be a moderate charge to remove the film but that it was not going to be a problem. He was also upfront when talking about the rear glass and possible problems with removing the existing film and potential damage to the rear defroster of which I was ok with. While in his shop, I got a chance to watch Mac as he worked with several customers. Mac took time and care with each customer treating them with the upmost respect and dignity. Mac genuinely treats each customer as #1 which unfortunately is a rarity these days. I was given a fare quote for ceramic tint and several options for an appointment time one of which was leave the truck overnight, I chose bringing it in the next day. As I was pulling out, Mac's intelligence and integrity struck me. He reminded me of my father, he was a WWII Marine. Mac a former Marine himself (I use the word former loosely, your never not a Marine), struck me as having the same qualities and moral values. I pulled back in and I left my truck overnight. First thing in the morning, 9am to be exact, I received a call, my truck was done! To be honest I was not expecting to hear anything until late afternoon as Mac's lot was full of cars the previous day! When I walked in Mac and Mariana greeted me, Mac couldn't wait to show me the finished product! I was floored! Few times in this life have I been left a little slack jawed over work done for me. I truly felt that this was a heartfelt effort on Mac's part, Mac's work is phenomenal! I was genuinely touched! If your debating shops, stop, Mac's Window Tinting is the place. If your mulling over what type of film, spring for the Ceramic, I've noticed a 25+.deg decrease in heat alone PLUS the added UV reduction. Vets with light sensitive eyes you won't be disappointed. I felt a huge difference in reduced sensitivity driving around town and my eyes are very UV sensitive, It was a huge stress reduction. Took my car to get tinted last week, professionalism was top notch , they took my car exactly when my appointment was due and finished up a few minutes earlier than expected. The work was flawless and really enhances the look of the car, in fact it looks so good my wife wants me to take her car in and get it done too, my only regret is I didn't go darker on the back windows but that was my fault because I didn't want to go too dark. Had the windows tinted on a 1970 Dodge Challenger. It's easier for them to tint windows while they're on the car but at the time I had the windows removed. Not a problem for these guys, they did a great job and got it done quick for an absolutely excellent price! Owner is a stand up guy, it reflects in his staff who is very friendly. Their tinting is good quality and they will stand behind it. We need more people in Reno that do business like these guys. read more

Setting up an appointment over the phone was super easy and the young lady answering the phone was polite and professional. I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment and was warmly greeted. I took my beautiful brand new car to Mac's because they were recommended by two different people. I purchased the ceramic tint. I had to take my car back not once, but two times because one of the rear windows had large bubbles that did not go away after their recommended amount of time you wait (30 days). They were very nice about me bringing my car back but to fix any issues, but after a total of three times of my window being re-tinted, I was tired of taking time off work and going back in. Fast forward about 5 months later and every single one of my windows has little tiny bubbles. I will not recommend Mac's. I have owned vehicles before this one and have never seen this before. I didn't roll down my windows for their recommended time (4 days) and my car is always parked in a garage so I see no reason for there to be bubbles. Their staff is friendly, but the work is not what I expected. On one of my windows they cut the tint to where it doesn't even fit the whole window and there's a gap. I brought this up to the staff and she told me that it would "go away". Seems to me like they're only interested in money and getting as many cars tinted as possible which results in poor quality work. Please note: There is at least one other review on Yelp where the same issues were experienced. I paid cash because of the limo tint (meaning you don't receive a receipt) so I am confident that they wouldn't do anything about it at this point. read more

Called down to mac's today to get my girlfriend's windows tinted for her birthday, and everything looked great......until we got home and noticed a bug must have landed in the tint on the driver side door, where it was sure to drive my girlfriend crazy every day. So with a little debate on whether to call down or just head back to the shop, we decided to just hop back into the car. With the bug staring us in the face and not knowing what to expect when we returned to mac's unannounced with a little critter in the window, Mariana grabbed the keys and went right to work replacing the tint and even thanking us for bringing the car back promptly.
