NEVER USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! They took my evaluation fee, I dropped off the computer to their "satellite" location in Denton, and then two weeks went by without any communication. I called their voice mail (only way to get a hold of them). They texted me an auto-response. I went around and around with them for an hour or so explaining the issue. They told me I never filled out a sign in sheet. They also said that their tech is not allowed to touch the laptop unless I had completed a sign-in sheet. After all this, they then tell me that the tech has ordered diagnostic parts for the laptop. What the hell are diagnostic parts and why did he go ahead and evaluate the laptop when he said they were not allowed to without a sign-in sheet? They eventually said that they would refund my money (I have all the text conversation saved to prove it). It's been since the first of June and I've yet to see my money refunded. I have filed a BBB claim against them - not just for the $92.01 evaluation fee, but mainly due to their extreme negligence, unprofessional practices, and poor communication. Apple computers can last for years...if you find a knowledgeable tech to keep them ip to date. Mactracks has Jason. He is the only person who understands these pre-2012 dinosaurs! He was able to change out a battery (hard to locate them) and get my OS system uldated and running like a dream. Extremely communicative, responsive and knowledgeable. Dropped off on a Friday after work and was ready for pickup on Monday. Easy access location right off the highway access road and plenty of parking. Do not fall for these scammers. My daughter spent $900 for screen repair. Poor communication. Computer was ready for 19 days and they didn't call her. She couldn't try it out when she picked it up because the battery was dead. But they had her sign a release saying that the repairs were completed. She's a young college kid and didn't know better. So long story short the computer still doesn't work. There is no brightness control on the screen and is either too dark or too bright. She tried to call back and of course they gave her the runaround said that she signed the paper and couldn't get a refund and couldn't get it fixed. Over the phone they told her that they tested everything on the touch bar. Her computer does not even have a touch bar so they were liars as well. They also replaced the factory lid or shell with something flimsier. I think this is probably like a guy working out of his house or something that meets people at a business. Not trustworthy at all and don't waste your money. Take it to the Apple store. One star is too high for this place. read more

Poor experience from start to finish and I am taking my gear to the Apple Genius Bar. My gut feeling told me to wait for the Genius Bar appointment and I should have followed that feeling. I scheduled the online appointment expecting a Genius Bar experience and instead I had to pay $49 upfront to drop off the device and wait for a callback several days later. I don't have confidence in service experiences where the technicians disappear into the back room vs the Genius Bar where it's open and transparent. Of course the quote came back at $675 and I don't have confidence the diagnosis was even correct. I'm taking my device to Apple to see if I get the same diagnosis. I came to pickup my device and Dylan told me I had to come back because the device was still not put back together. He should have done that while I waited instead of directing me to come back. I came back again (third time in total) the next day and Javier indicated the ticket showed as waiting for quote review. This means Dylan did not update the ticket and Jerry disappeared for 10 more minutes before bringing my laptop. He had to call Dylan to retrieve my device. 3 trips, 8 days duration, 3 hours of my time and out of pocket $49 is not a good experience. read more

Sketchy I have had apple products worked on in the apple store previously. This place is listed as a authorized provider. You walk into a locked down one way mirrored window with security cameras everywhere. When the guy finally opened the window, he took my laptop and directed me to A form to fill out-window closed. strange. He was apprehensive somewhat defensive. Recommended apple service location. Closer than the Apple store and much less of a hassle. Wa able to make an appointment. Drop off was easy. They then assess the issues over several days and call with the report and cost estimate. The cost to asses was around 50 for me and it was applied to the repair. So glad to have them in my backyard. I brought my thunderbolt display in to have a cable replaced knowing that it was causing my screen to flicker, as it was a common issue. Customer service was horrible. Every time I received an update was due to the fact that I called. Mactracks claimed they were unable to diagnose what was wrong with my display and still charged me $50. Now my display won't even turn on. So now my $1000 display is broken thanks to mactracks. read more

Don't ever use these folks unless you like the following: Paying $92 for an evaluation fee up front that can take up to 48 hours to execute. Was told they would call me as soon as they could assess the problem. Called them back after 72 hours to be told they forgot to call me but if I'd authorize the cost estimate of an additional $80. Oh, and it would be up to another 48 hours. When I called back after 48 hours I was told they had finally started the malware removal but it would take up to another 48 hours. When I tried to get an answer from them about what had happened Ben told me to come get the computer because I was too big a problem. They did refund my original evaluation fee. Really, because they had never even looked at my computer after a week. My wife got online and fixed the issue while we watched television the same night I brought the computer home. Ben, especially, is a huge problem. Very unprofessional. No one there is going to return a phone call and customer communication is no priority for this buffoons. Having the sign lit up as "closed" during business hours was an added bonus. Incompetent and lazy. If that is what you want, this is the place for you. I think they have other locations but I have not visited those and can't speak to their motivation to provide good customer response. I purchased a used MacBook Air in 2017 with a build date of mid-2011. This is important because Apple doesn't manufacture enough replacement parts and, apparently, expects its customers to buy new. When I took it in to MacTracks, the diagnosis was a bad logic board. So, the only source for replacement is the recycle market. I received the FIRST logic board from a vendor that GUARANTEED a FULLY TESTED, FULLY FUNCTIONING part and immediately took it in. Shortly thereafter, I was informed that the FIRST logic board had a problem. I returned that logic board and purchased one from another vendor. I took SECOND logic board in and, after a few days, MacTracks informed me that the SECOND logic board was defective. I returned the SECOND logic board and ordered a THIRD from a different vendor. I took it in to MacTracks and the THIRD logic board actually worked! All of this explanation is to show how MacTracks worked with me to resolve the issues with parts they didn't provide. Over the extended time period, they patiently installed and reinstalled the boards and allowed me time to locate a FULLY TESTED part. Thank you, MacTracks! read more

I am very disappointed to have found out that you all charge $48 to diagnose an issue, then not estimate a cost of how much it would be to fix the issue. The cord that i needed to fix my laptop is $17 at APPLE, while you all wanted to charge me $125 for the exact same cord, wait no i lied, you tried to give me a discount, making it $85. That's pathetic. After taking my $48, the charge to FIX my laptop was going to be $483!!! Of course i did not go through with this. I'd originally given the Denton store 1 star. However Susan the owner called and quickly jumped on my issue with the Denton location. She assigned Eric the store manager to my case. He quickly answered my questions and explained in great detail the reason why I needed to have more storage added to my computer. They ended up not charging for labor on the storage upgrade to compensate for the Denton location. I've owned many businesses and customer service is KEY. Apple sent me to MacTracks because I was having issues with the battery life on my MacBook Air. When I dropped it off I was told it would be 2 days before I was ready. I didn't hear from them for 4 so I called and they said they were backed up but they would look at it that day. I checked my online account on the 6th day that they had my laptop and it said they had determined it was a bad battery. I didn't hear anything else. I called on the 8th day and they told me that I needed to approve the repairs. So they were basically just waiting for me to call and ask about it before repairing it. I go to pick it up after they have had it for 9 business days and their credit card reader system isn't working (they said it had been giving them trouble so they should have been more proactive and not waited for it to completely stop working before calling support). After waiting there for 15 minutes they told me I needed to come back later!! Ugh. When I went back later I complained and they took $20 off of my $220 repair. So at least they tried? When I got home the trackpad on my laptop was loose and not working properly! I took it back the next day (this is 4 trips now, it's about 40 min round trip for me). I was explaining what the problem was and the manager, who had helped me the previous times, took my laptop from me and walked away when I was MID SENTENCE and went behind the sketchy looking door/bullet proof glass! He didn't even apologize for not giving it back to me put back together properly. I then waited about 15 min for him to come back. Rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a huge favor and drive the extra 20 minutes to an actual Apple store. I have 6 Apple products and I will not be returning! UPDATE: Just got home and my computer will not turn on. I scheduled service through Apple for my iPhone 6s. I was able to get an appointment the next day, there were even openings the same day. I brought my phone in at the scheduled time, had my battery changed while I waited in under 30 minutes. (I didn't pay close attention for exact time). They got my computer running again and probably would have gotten higher marks if their lead technician had not been so obvious about not wanting me to make sure it was functioning correctly before I took it out of the shop. Stay away, these guys are crooks. Was having a problem with the video card on my MacBook Pro and they said it would cost $95 to run a test to see if they could provide a refurbished board. Test worked and they charged another $195 for the service. After I picked up my computer, it failed to work immediately. After purchasing a new iPhone for myself, my mom decided she would like to have my old one (an iPhone 5s). I wanted to make sure it was in good shape before I gave it to her, so I took it to Mactracks (per a suggestion from Apple) to purchase a new battery. The person with whom I spoke at Mactracks in Denton was really helpful and professional (I feel bad that I forgot to ask for a name). The diagnostics on the phone indicated that the current battery is fine because I hadn't really used it much and the Mactracks rep said, that if I insisted, I could buy a new battery, but that it seemed wrong to sell me a battery that I didn't need. I really appreciated the honesty and there was no cost for the diagnostics either! The experience was very positive for me and I will definitely go back if I ever have issues with my new phone or iPad. read more

Horrible service! Do not take your Mac here! This is the worst business I have ever dealt with. They said the could most likely fix my iMac after I told them the issue. When I went to the store to take my computer in, they asked me to fill out a form on their iPad/tablet. When I got to the last page of the form, there was a disclosure I had to check that I agreed to their terms of service. I signed and checked the "I agree" box, but did NOT hit "submit." I had a few more questions before I hit submit. The employee behind the counter reached over and hit the button for me!! What the #*%#?! I let it slide hoping for the best. Then weeks passed, and an employee from a different location called me and said that they really don't know as much as him at the Denton location. He asked if he could try something different. I agreed as this is all the same company. Weeks later I get an email saying if I don't pick the computer up within a week they will charge me for storage, or get rid of it! I was out of town, so I called them several times. No one answered my call and their voicemail was full! So, bye to my computer.
