I brought my lap top in as the battery died. They ran diagnostics on it and confirmed it needed a new battery. The quote was upfront and transparent. Shelby, who checked in the computer was very friendly. I should say, my lap top is 8 years old. They ran into some other issues (camera lens and keyboard) after the install but they took their time to rectify all the issues before giving it back to me. I was a little uncomfortable turning my computer over to a stranger knowing that I had very private personal information on it. Passwords, banking, emails etc. But after speaking with the owner, Charmin (sp?), I got a really good vibe from her and she was extremely communicative about the service performed. And gave me the confidence that I took it to the right place. The service comes with a 90 day warranty which I love! Charmin is very personable, seems to love what she does and it was important to her that it was done right and done well. They returned my laptop to me in better condition than they received it. So sparkly and clean. She really put my mind at ease. It's also a 75% women run company, which is an added bonus for me! I will be back and I do recommend them. read more

I recently had to order a special part for my MacBook's keyboard. In particular, it was an older model and the key legends had started wearing off. There are several possibly matches , however, for new keys (called key caps) . I sent the model number and serial number to MacVolks and I was able to obtain precisely the parts I wanted and needed, cheaper even than if I had purchased from eBay. It was a great recovery of being able to keep my Mac running without having to purchase an entire new laptop. Based upon this experience, I had them put a new battery in my iPhone, replace two screens, one on an iPhone and one on a MacBook Air. I had a nightmare that came true: my daughter dropped something on my laptop. My every day, get stuff done while kids are running in circles around me laptop. After my MacBook Pro decided to stop charging, I was referred to macVolks by Apple. Upon entering the building, I was greeted by a nice, friendly staff member that explained the troubleshooting procedures and repair protocols. She was very knowledgable of the various computer pieces (including faulty equipment that Apple could repair) and answered all of my questions. I received a phone call about a day or two later letting me know what was broken, the part that needed to be replaced, and a good estimate of when my Macbook Pro would be ready for pick-up. I accidently dropped my laptop as I was coming into my house from the backyard. Yep, hit the cement, cracked the screen, made a dent and couldn't close the laptop. Took it to Best Buy and the turnaround time was INSANE! 8 + weeks because they had to ship it to Kentucky. They said to take it to APPLE. I tried making an appointment online and found 0 available for the next 100 years. They did however refer me another authorized dealer which closed to me was MacVolks. Parking is awesome here, comparing to Apple in Walnut Creek. Turnaround time was days not weeks, YAY! Brought it in on a Friday, picked it up on Wednesday. Process was very easy, they explained everything and were very professional. If you are worried about how they are handling the CDC Guidelines for COVID they are on point. Wow! All I can say is I dreaded going to the Apple Store in WC to find out how much it would cost to replace the glass on my less than 2 month old iMac 24" - accident glass damage! I was so happy to find these folks through Apple as it was closer to my house. I scheduled a drop-off and was told the price to fix - a lot which I was expecting. I didn't initially buy Apple Care but Sherman suggested purchasing it to see if could be done. It was! They were able to replace the glass in less than a week for all of about $100 for labor - which I was more than happy to pay! I don't know if I would have been told at the Apple Store to try purchasing Apple Care, but thanks to these wonderful people, I am one happy person! They are honest, efficient, and communicative! After a few months of WFH during Covid-19, my display went out on my personal MacBook Pro (yeah, my work didn't actually get me a work-issued laptop until five months into the pandemic--go figure!). Luckily, I have AppleCare! The Apple stores were not able to help right away, so I went with the Apple representative's referral to macVolks. I called and they gave me clear directions on how to find them and where to park. They cleaned after the customer before me then invited me in to assist me. I would give "macVolks" 10 stars if I could!!!! My Mac Book Pro had a problem with the Batteries. They were "bulging/swelling to where the laptop would not set flat on the desk. Using the key board would make it rock back and forth. Closer inspection, found there were a couple screws that had popped out the deformed bottom cover. Took it into "macVolks" , Charmin said they wouldn't know what the cost was going to be until the technicians inspect the batteries. Informed me that it may take a week or so to order batteries and misc. parts. Even with the "Memorial Day Weekend" , I received a text exactly 7 days since I dropped it off: "Hi Jeff! Your computer is ready for pickup! Please let me know when you're available to come by. Thank you!" I went to pick up my Laptop, was told "No charge" just sign here.........."batteries are covered by Apple through a recall . They even replaced my Keyboard! Sharman needed more details with email addy and responded back within a few hours with a detailed quote of the repair details and the cost. Unfortunately for me, my macbook Pro's headphone port is loose and worse yet, soldered to the motherboard. The repair cost way exceeded the value of the repair in my book (bluetooth headphones are in my future), so I declined to proceed with the repair.
