Customer service was excellent for my time that I spent there yesterday evening. They aided me greatly in helping me find a nice men's cologne scent that was to my liking, and what do you know I walked out with polo black, a new vest, and a new tie thanks to Macy's rewards. A really pleasant shopping experience overall, my only complaint which isn't really a complaint at all is that we had to walk around a bit to find a working or not in use register. This location isn't their largest. Yet it has most of what you're looking for. It is in my opinion understaffed. This is not uncommon these days. Yet it can lead to delays, or time looking around for employees. Once you do find one, excellent Macys service. Here's to them getting more folks. As for selection it's decent. They have a pretty good cologne section. Also I like their Ralph Lauren clothes, although be sure to be competitive online and elsewhere. This store has great suits and ties. As a tall man, finding suits can be challenging, but they have a good bit to choose from here. read more

Compared to other locations this one is kinda lack luster to it's other locations. Because it's a smaller location, the selection is not as vast as what you would expect from a Macy's location. All the standard departments are there but they of course are small due to the size of the store. There is a full size MAC counter and sometimes inventory can be a hit or miss. Staff typically is very helpful if needed and are visible in each department, so if you do need assistance you should not have to look or go far. May not be your first choice for inventory but if it's something simple that you know they carry then this location may work. read more

Had a Fantastic Experience buying a suit for an upcoming wedding. Definitely ask a professional, I asked Paul Provost (paul.provost@macys.com) and he did everything I required and then some. He had worked in suit fitting for 50+ years and perfectly measured me and gave me a suit that fit absolutely perfectly. He also helped me with a few design choices and color patterns that looked great at the wedding. Definitely the guy to go to for a formal fitting, I believe he also handles many of the other aspects of fashion at the store. Macys had the best deals when it came to formal wear and with the additional 25% slacked on by signing up for their credit card i was able to get a suit jacket +pants, 2 ties, 2 dress shirts, and Stacy Adams dress shoes for $400, not bad. read more

Clean and tidy and I could actually find a person that worked there. The downside? No carts of any kind. I found another stores cart right outside their door so I used it for a heavy item. Boy, did I get the stink eye from the manager as I came in the doors. I had no clue why until the Returns dept employee told me that carts are "not allowed in the store because they are a hazard to children and disabled people. If the cart hits a display or sign, it could fall over and injure an older person or a person in a wheelchair. Could you put the cart back outside?" Really? Wow. But the asthma inducing stench of 50 perfumes isn't a hazaard at all right? People get hurt. People have no self control or can bother to correct or watch their children. That's not Macy's fault. But they sell lots of heavy items. Sometimes you dont punish everyone for a "maybe" or a rare occurrence. read more

Went to Macy's Christmas eve for a last minute gift for my wife. Understandably the store was very busy. There were only 2 employees in the jewelry Department. The lady that was behind the counter in the area where I was shopping asked a question to the other employee behind another counter and left. Leaving customers all around the displays with no one to help them. Macy's and the employees are throwing money away. It's one of only a few days where the store is that busy. Guess no one wants their commissions. I left and went to Kay. I waited a little bit but got good service and left with what I was looking for. read more

I accompanied my cousin and her friends to shop at this store. For over ten years since Macy's stopped having employees wear uniforms and badge, the company downgraded noticeably. When you need help at the store, chances are you need to run around searching for employees and ask if they are because there is nothing to tell they are employees or customers. We waited at the cash register patiently to pay for the items we wanted to purchase. Right at our turn to pay, the older white woman behind the register just walked away acting as if we were invisible. We looked at each other asking ourselves what's wrong with us. That older associate just walked to chat with her co worker and didn't bother to say anything to us. I told my cousin and her friends to leave because this store didn't want our business. Actually, they are a group of wives who married to American soldiers and have lived in the region for more than half a century. The way Macy's handles business can explain why every year they closed a great number of stores nationwide. They don't like to serve minority then now this state has to deal with the huge flood of immigrants from South America. Go figure! read more

It's been a while since I've been to a Macy's department store so I was hopeful I could get a few items and be on my way. I was on the search for some house slippers and was pretty disappointed with the men's shoe department. Not only did I not find any slippers in my size, the ones that were there were in little boxes, like something you'd purchase "as seen on TV." It has a really cheap feel to it ($40 later) even though I'm sure the slippers would have done just fine. Problem was the sizes didn't go big enough. Next I turned my attention to the children's department for some infant winter clothing and couldn't help but notice the lack of inventory in this department too. Everything was simply picked over and not set out in any way you'd expect. Almost like a hurricane came through. It's the middle of winter and I can't find any baby winter gear here. There was a lack of staffing as well. This is sad but most likely due to the huge influx of online sales with Amazon, etc. I'm just disappointed that I'm stuck a Macy's gift card. This is quite possibly the worst Macy's in the history of Macy's department stores. I went into this store in search of Wacoal bras that are sold in Macy's and other high end department stores. You can buy these bras online, but I wanted to try for fit, so I went into the store for a fitting. I found the lingerie department and perused for well over 30 minutes, in an attempt to find the bras that I was looking for, and any other bra that I wanted to try on at that time. During my 30+ minutes in that department, I was never approached by a sales associate to see if I needed help, a fitting, or even to hold on to the bras that I had in my hand to leave room to pick up more. Nothing, not one smile, the associate never left the safety of the cash wrap if there even was one in the area. Most times, I didn't even see an employee. In my search through the department, I realized that this particular Macy's doesn't even carry the particular bra brand that I was looking for. The only Wacoal bras that I found were ones that were obviously purchased online or in another store and then returned to this Macy's. They had no selection of different styles, and the sizes were clearly "off sizes" like 42F or 32G. I finally grabbed a lot of different bras, not the ones I went in looking for, but figured I'd try my luck and see what I could find. The first thing I couldn't' find, though, was a fitting room. The one in the lingerie department has closed off, so I did a circle around the area with my 20+ bras to try and find a fitting room. After I found an associate to direct me, she pointed me to the fitting room that was open. It was 2 rooms. Not even a long bay, literally 2 fitting rooms, in the middle of the floor, that are to be shared by the ENTIRE women's department and lingerie departments. One of the two didn't even lock! I tried on my bras, never being asked if I needed help, and left the fitting room, with bras in hand to hang. There was no bar outside the fitting rooms to hang my merchandise that I didn't want, so I walked over to the lingerie department to try to find one. I walked that whole department and never found a bar. I wasn't about to walk all over the department hanging back the 20+ bras that I just tried on, so shamefully, I walked back to the fitting room and placed them in there. I was in retail for years, and that's rule #1, never leave your clothes in the fitting room when you're done...but there was no other place to leave them!!!! I walked back over the bras, grabbed a few more to try on, walked back in to the fitting room and tried them. One out of many fit nicely, and it was buy one, get one 50% off. So, I went back to the display to find another to get the sale, and they didn't have any more in my size. So I left. I bought nothing. What a waste of time. No associate ever offered help, or anything. I did stop and check out the children's department as well as the accessory department and not once did any associate ask if they could help me or answer any questions. This store is just awful and I don't believe I will ever step foot in in again. read more

Horrible communication and manager that never returns your calls. I bought a Ralph Lauren polo on super sale and during the pre-sale. The cashier said the extra pre-sale savings would not work on a super sale item. No biggie, paid for it and left to go to work. I called back to double check and they said yes, it does apply, that cashier just didn't know how to do it. Came back the same day after taking a break from work but then they said I need to wait till the day of the actual pre-sale. I came back again the next day and this other cashier said it wouldn't work. So I called the manager...I"ve been calling but she never picks up the phone and let it go to voicemail so I finally left a vm and never ever got a return call. read more

He went above and beyond to make this possible, even though it was a lot of stuff at different ends of the store. Not a big selection, and the customer service was horrible. I'm a rather large man and was told they dont have big and tall, try online. They I heard a remark as i walked away, "try and loose some weight". I went back demanded to talk to a manager, some younger woman came over talked to the person first then me, which i did not like. Listened to me, and replied, " you misunderstood what was said." I said I don't have a problem with my hearing and this customer service needs help." she said she would talk to him. I left into the mall for over an hour came back and the young kid was still holding up a rack talking to some other younger person when i walked back through. beware macys- i ordered 10 of these chairs. they arrived with 8 backs that didnt clip in right and the backs are loose- i signed for them damaged- they arrived 11/2/21 and to date not fixed- a guy showed up in a beat up car all by himself - looked at them said he would have to come back- and hasnt - their service company they use is horrible- macys will not let you put them back on the truck- their game is for you to take them, and then hopefully service one day will fix them - also i bought the warranty as well- dont make that mistake they cover nothing- as you can tell im here 3 months later waiting- macys service is horrible- i spent 15k on furniture to include sofa and chair- once i realized their game of making you take it and then wait for service guy to show up- i canceled the rest- if you buy furniture and it shows up damage- they will not take it back read more

This store was orginially a Hecht's location that was rebranded as Macy's sometime around 2006. This store is noticeably smaller compared to other locations in Northern Virginia and the selection is limited; however, there is a "good enough" assortment of merchandise to find simple apparel and housewares without making the trek to Fair Oaks, Springfield or Tyson's. If you are looking for high end merchandise, you will definitely need to travel to another location. This location is usually neat and well organized. The staff is professional, courteous and friendly I just wish that Macy's would put a location in Woodbridge ?? read more

For the Macy's brand, this store is a disgrace. For the first time of visiting this store (previous visits were rapid and time crunched), I noticed the condition, quality, and bad customer service of this store as my wife and I had shopped for and found some Christmas gifts. Then, the extended period of time we had to wait in line to check out, gave us 'too much time on our hands' enabling us to make more thorough observations. First, within myriad display cases, I noticed the frayed and torn display pedestals where labels or other sticky items had been previously placed and subsequently removed tearing the pedestals's coverings. Worse, the pedestals and other features of the cases appeared completely unkept and uncleaned! Next, looking down past the display cases to the floor(s), I began to note the amount of unswept dirt and debris covering them. This prompted me to begin more intently scanning my surroundings. Then, I began to see the complete disheveled appearance of the whole store as I peered over the display cases. The landscape seemed littered with multiple instances of clothes-less mannequins, emptied, but cluttered shelves (covered with wadded up myriad articles clothing), out of stock products STILL ON DISPLAY (shoe dept...and yes we asked), etc. Now, being a reasonable man, I realize it's Christmas time and some dishelveledness and empty 'shelvedness' is to be expected. A shopper would not know it was the Christmas shopping season based on the larger numbers of on-hand staff (sarcasm), or COMPLETE lack thereof (truth!), waiting to help you check out...thus the long lines/waiting times throughout the store! Throughout the years, I have usually maintained a high expectation for quality from Macy's given its long history and my previous shopping experiences within other Macy's stores. However, I believe I have found one of the Macy's in desperate need of some improved management/staffing, better product stocking/organization, AND SPRING CLEANING! Thus, my wife and I have agreed, we'll be traveling to other Macy's locations to conduct our shopping endeavors. read more

Worst service i have ever received from a Macy's. My issue took place in the watch/jewelry department. The online reps for macys instructed me to take my defective watch to a store and they would be able to assist me. Either by sending it for repair or replacing it. The woman i delt with in the Manassas Macys told me they do not fix watches. She then went on to tell me the watches need to be purchased with the protection plan for repairs. So you do have a repair or replacement service? She tried to immediately dismiss me and the store just opened. 10 on the dot Saturday morning. I assured her they were purchased with the protection plan. However their system is horrible at looking up past purchases Unless it was on a macys card. So long story short i walked out with a watch purchased from Macys with no service to restore the watch. Buy jewelry here at your own risk. I've also received poor service at this store in the fragrance dept. The women were trying to steal my business from one another like vultures. The commision pay structure is obviously horrible if the workers act like this. If your in northern va and want good service from a macys go fair oaks or dulles. Manassas is a joke. read more

The store itself was well kept and great selection. However, when I found what I wanted and tried to check-out that is when the problem started. I wandered the whole store looking for anyone that worked there. Finally I went to one of the random stands like MAC and they directed me to another register. The lady at the register was too busy helping another customer decide what handbag she should buy for her kid. This employee had no regard for the fact that there were now 4 OTHER customers waiting at the register to check out. We waited at least 10 minutes while the customer deciding on handbags tried to find her check book. We finally gave up and before I was going to put my stuff back and leave I found another lady in the shoe department and she checked us out. Absolutely ridiculous and the first cashier was rude. Won't be shopping here again. read more
