When we returned about a week later to exchange the pair for another we were greeted by a hostile staff who immediately told us they could not accept the pants back without bothering to ask us any questions first. We were accused of not having a receipt after explaining that the cashier from that exact store never gave us a physical receipt, but only an email. After skipping over the fact we had a digital receipt we eventually began to answer the questions the staff never bothered to ask. The pants we wanted to return went through a rigorous pre-return "trust me bro" test where the cashier sniffed the pants, denied the smell, and basically told us we didn't know how to properly dry our clothes. After explaining our digital receipt again we were allowed to exchange our single pair of pants for the same cut of jeans minus the smell. Idk why they had to charge us $10 for an exchange of a defective product to the exact same product but I guess they needed to give us one last "F you" and remind us that they don't want us shopping at Levi's. Guess I'll be spending my money anywhere else but Levi's now

My experience today at TJ Maxx in San Ysidro was unfavorable. I thought to myself, I should just stay in line since I'm already half way down. I recall seeing approximately 20 plus customers ahead of me while more were piling up behind me. It felt like 15 to 20 minutes had passed until I arrived at a register. The transaction went well and received my refund in no time. The register lines at TJ Maxx was definitely worse than Ross. They were very slow. Staff at register was friendly though. There were various registers open, of course, all busy. There was one security guard posted at the entrance area and overall store looked ok. While their online experience kinda sucks, with unclear email notifications and incorrect inventory lists, my in-store experience has been great! The staff at this location are on their game! They fulfill in-store pickup orders blazingly fast and mark them accordingly so I get the crappy notifications from their website that something happened with my orders. When I have to call to confirm, because those crappy emails aren't clear which items are ready, the staff answers the phone promptly, politely and know exactly what I'm asking about so I don't feel like a complete idiot for calling. My visits to this store have also gone well. The staff have been helpful locating in-store items I could not order online, despite the crappy search capabilities of their systems. additionally, the staff I interacted with have been friendly (not stalker-like; following me all over the store) and are quick to check inventory and open the dressing rooms for my daughter to try items. I went straight to the electronics department where the Apple products are located and waited about five minutes for someone to assist me. After realizing no one was coming I walked around the store looking for an employee. I finally found someone who called for assistance over the walkie talkie. An employee eventually came over and I showed him the exact Apple Watch I wanted. He scanned it and told me their system showed one in stock. He then went into the employees only area to look for it. I waited patiently for about 20 minutes and he never came back. No update. No explanation. Nothing. At that point I pulled out my phone and checked the Walmart app. They had the exact same Apple Watch available so I placed the order. About 30 minutes later it was delivered directly to my front door. It was even $10 cheaper. The $10 honestly does not matter to me. This is about customer service. I walked into Target ready to spend my money and buy my mom a birthday gift. All I needed was someone to help me complete the purchase. I understand retail can get busy and inventory is not always where it is supposed to be. What I do not understand is leaving a customer waiting for 20 minutes and never coming back with an update. As someone who shops at Target regularly this was definitely a disappointing experience. Customer service can make or break a shopping experience and unfortunately today Target lost a sale that could have easily been completed with a little more communication and attention.
