I have a soft spot for retail workers since I was one for the holiday season a few years back. This is a review based on their customer service. I don't particularly shop here because their clothes are not my style. Went here on Black Friday when it first opened at 12 AM and boy was it was crazy. So many people and I honestly give props to the customer service people for staying sane. I went to three departments. Jewelry - I felt like I was being spied on by a hawk to be honest. I know there was a lot of people there and I'm sure theft is a problem on busy days like black friday, but I don't appreciate being watched like I was a thief, which I wasn't. Shoe - I got here pretty quickly and grabbed a pair of shoes almost within the first 5 minutes. The customer service people there were quick and their streamlined process of waiting in a line along a blue strip worked fairly well. Also, as a note, try to remember the person's name that helped you in the shoe department. I believe they get some sort of commission. Men's department - extremely friendly cashier. I was pretty tired from shopping and waiting in line and she was just this ball of sunshine who brightened my night. read more

I went into this store to purchase some shoes for myself and clothes for my son. As I was looking for shoes in the men's department, a clerk made a comment to another clerk in a joking manner using a second language (Tagalog) . The other clerk did not understand the comment and he asked her what it meant. I was within ears reach and heard what she had said. She was telling the other clerk she needed to take a crap. Holy smokes ! Where is the professionalism folks?! Using a second language and joking in front of customers.....So un professional! The male clerk kept his calm and did not let his coworkers inappropriate comment interrupt helping a customer. Thank you to that guy but shame on that female cashier who was unprofessional. Next time you be aware of who is around you and always be professional as customers are always aware of everything. 4 stars to the guy who maintained some professionalism and 2 stars to the unprofessional cashier. So my average rating for this experience was 3 stars! When it came to shopping for my sons clothes and then paying, the cashier was helpful, but the process was very painful. There were three cashiers on two registers. Their customer service sucked as it looked to me as if they didn't enjoy their job. They weren't friendly at all. As two cashiers were already on registers the third one was taking on other customers trying to help but causing confusion . She was trying to tag my sons clothes with the barcode stickers and was just in the way of the other cashiers already working . There was so much confusion that the cashier helping me out forgot to remove the round tag on my sons jacket , which I did not notice until the next day! I just went to their male department to buy some shoes. I waited a long time to get helped which was no problem because there was only one girl helping the one customer in front of me. However, after maybe like 10 mins, another guy wearing the same uniform as the girl came, I was obviously standing in line and I asked for a certain shoe size to what he came back and said: "this is the last shoe we have" and walked away.. as he's walking away I asked him, so could I get this? and he was like, that's the last shoe. I did not get the other one JUST IN CASE I DID WANTED TO TAKE IT, he walked away. After a while, I settled for a pair and the girl of course helped me and I she apologize for the wait, which I understand and that's not what the problem was. The problem was when I was walking away, I saw exactly what I was looking for and came back to exchange it. By this time, Anthony helped me and he was just very serious... he barely acknowledge me or seemed interested with the transaction. He took the shoes, scanned them, put the receipt in the bag and barely said Thank You. I had never have any issues in any other departments within the store and I would have given them a 5 star rating, However, after 2 bad experiences I don't think I will be coming back. I went to this Plaza Bonita Macy's this week with my wife. She wanted to purchase some Mac products but wanted to try the products prior to purchasing them. We waited at the Mac counter for a long time but no one offered to assist her. We actually left and returned since no one was helping us. When we returned there was an employee who offered to help but she was busy with another customer. After patiently waiting for her for 20 minutes my wife was then told by that employee that she would go find the Mac specialist to assist her. She could have done this prior to us waiting for 20 minutes. The Mac specialist, Cassandra arrived with an attitude as if she didn't want to work that day. She rolled her eyes at my wife and basically had a bad attitude with very poor customer service. She even accused my wife of stealing because my wife brought some of her own Mac products from home to show the salesgirl exactly what she needed. When my wife returned the items to her purse Cassandra told her she needed to pay for them even though she brought them from home. This is one of the worst experiences we have had with any department store or salesperson. Do not go here to this Macy's, read the other reviews here- they are equally as bad. read more

This store was a ridiculously messy. In the shoe dept, while 2 associates stood behind the register talking, their clearance shoes were a total wreck! More on the floor than on the racks. The regular display tables were nothing special, with the same shoes being repeated on several tables. Although we spent about 20 minutes in the dept, we were never approached or offered help. Next, moved on to the dress dept. no help there either. Petites: they actually had a good selection of merchandise in this dept. however, it was a wreck as well. There were 6 racks of go backs blocking one of the aisles. One cashier was busy and 1st one, then a second started working on the racks. They spent more time talking to each other than working. Also, never greeted or offered help. My sister bought a few items, and we left. What has happened to Macy's? They can do better than this!! read more

I was in the shoe department on this past Sunday 11-12-17 for at least an hour. There was a black sales men there that kept asking everyone but me did they need help with anything. This sales men passed by me several times and said nothing. I finally found someone to help me , got my shoes I wanted and stood at the register which there was no line. Once again the black sales men seen me standing there and said nothing until 5 minutes later then he said someone would be right with me. This Macy's has a great selection of makeup to choose from, Clinique, Estée Lauder, shiseido, Lancôme, clairins, Anastasia, benefit,tarte,ect. The girls who work here are all very helpful in the makeup department. They have a shoe department for men and women also they added a bed department. They have nice dresses for formal events also have cute shirts too. I like this Macy's when it's on a Monday or Tuesday other then that this Macy's gets so busy on Friday-Sunday's. read more

She was extremely rude and not professional while I had an issue with a return. she lacked any sort of knowledge in my problem anyways and had no regard to solve my issue. She does not know what good customer service skills are treated me very poorly. Please speak with ANGELINA and make sure she receives adequate training in how to properly deal with customers. I like shopping here. The selection of clothing is excellent. I like going to the perfume area, It's like shopping for liquor. Kind of elegant. They have friendly personnel and they smile at you, as it should be done. The store is clean and well organized. I went by the purse department and all the women's purses where nice and neat. I was choosing a purse for my girl. There was a pretty lady standing there and she ask me if I needed help. I told here that I was just looking. She was tall and beautiful with a lot of class. I guess this was her department. She kept it in pristine order. Not easy when women are shopping. They go nuts and throw everything around...crazy! I do have one complaint, and that is from the kitchen wares section. Their selection for Espresso Machines is terrible. You would think that Macy's was big on cappuccino machines, being who they are and everything...not the case for this store location anyways. Came to this place and spent a substantial amount of money on a Michael Kors watch as a birthday gift for my mother. She tried to take it down today to have it sized and no one wanted to help her. They just told her she needed a receipt to have it sized. And walked away. I'm so sick of this shitty Macy's and I will no longer waste my money on a store that doesn't serve its own customers. I became obsessed with a limited edition MAC lipstick and called everywhere I could think of to find it. Called this Macy's and the MAC lady said she didn't have it but she could call some places and call me back. She got my number and told me to wait a few minutes and she would see what she can do. I went to your store in Plaza Bonita, CA to ask for a garment bag for my 5 sports coat that I bought online and they refuse to give me one. I spoke to a manager named Aurora which she refused to give me her last name that they only give out garment bag for suits. Aurora was very rude and approached the situration very unprofessional. I did not have this problem before when I purchased one sports coat no questions ask. I did show her my receipt that I spend a huge amount of money to support Macys business. Now, I am very upset and I had been a loyal customer for over 20 years and I also did work at Macys at one point in time and now I will refuse and I will boycott on shopping at Macys because I tried to be reasonable and cooperative with Aurora (manager at Plaza Bonita store). Noticed one female standing behind counter with male employee for 10 minutes with no customers waiting until they decided to walk from behind the counter. Male employee obviously seen the show boxes and finally picked the boxes up. Shoe section needs to be maintained and kepted up. Advice when it is slow straighten up the shoes. read more

Worst experience ever! Waste of my time. Never again from employees to managers they seem to be thrown in the floor with no idea of what they're doing asking each other questions and everyone still ends up with the wrong information! Today I was shopping with my Mom and we were standing by the Michael Kors stand for 10 minutes, waiting for the tall Asian lady to assist us since the other employee was ringing someone up. When she finished with the Customer she looked and came towards us and told us you need to sign up on the list. I guess there's a service list but we didn't know because there's no sign that we have to. Do NOT get your jewelry serviced at this place!! I bought a ring from their website and brought it in to this location to get resized shortly after receiving it. I needed it for my engagement photo shoot coming up in three weeks so the first question I asked was how long it would take to get it resized and the sales associate answered "1-2 weeks." I thought, "perfect!" So I dropped it off. At the 2 week mark, I hadn't heard from them, so I called them to check on the status of my ring. They said it still wasn't ready since their jewelry repair company isn't opened on weekends and so technically it had only been "10 days, not 14." I was upset, but understanding that I didn't get clarification on what counted as a "day." (Also would've been nice for the worker to tell me) I rescheduled the photo shoot and paid a fee. Come the "14 business days," (almost 3 weeks since the drop off date) I gave them another call. Ring STILL wasn't ready because according to the sales manager, normal orders take 3 weeks, not 2! I was furious!! The manager called the company and then PROMISED that the ring would get shipped out the following Wednesday and would arrive at their store on Friday. So I rescheduled the photo shoot for Saturday. Friday rolls by and I never got a call. Called them Saturday morning, the ring is STILL not ready and "there's nothing they can do do about it." So here I am, after rescheduling the photo shoot yet again paying another fee, hoping it will arrive on Monday as they have promised. Their words mean nothing now and they have horrible customer service as they didn't offer anything to make up for the inconvenience and those "hundreds of other customers in the same situation." Sometimes, the department can be understaffed it seems, because there can be a 10-13 minute wait for someone to be able to help you grab a shoe. I value customer service and quality over waiting time, so that's why I gave them 5 stars. I've had to return shoes here twice and both times, the staff was extremely helpful and nice. My transaction at the women's shoe department took 20 minutes because the cashier had to ring me up 5 times.. then ended up charging me more than what she had first stated.. I asked her why, and as she had said preciously, she didn't know!! She asked someone else and turns out she had pressed the wrong button, the first 4 times. She had pressed the button that I did have a Macy's card when I didn't. So after spending 20 minutes with the same incompetent employee, why the hell wouldnt Macys put importance on the customer service aspect of their business and HONOR the first total amount that that employee had quoted me? It was only 15% less... but no, even after speaking to the manager there, I had to pay the new total amount. This whole experience was BS.
