This Macy's department store has a layout and a selection of merchandise that are similar to other Macy's locations: clothing for women, men, girls, and boys; footwear; jewelry and accessories; beauty products; home goods (e.g., bedding, bath, kitchen, dining, and decor); and more. When I shopped in this store, I felt most interested in the ladies' and juniors' clothing. The selection of styles was large, and the prices for the name-brand and designer pieces were moderate. I decided to purchase a shirt on clearance for only $7. At the checkout counter, two customers were ahead of me in line, and the cashier was working extremely slowly. She did not appear to understand the computers well. After standing in line for a long time, I walked over to a neighboring department to check out there. The employee there told me to go back to the department from which I had just come. I explained that the line was not moving, and this other employee very kindly walked over to that department and rang up my purchase there. In summary, one employee performed her job well, and the other did not. At home, I tried on the shirt. Overall, it fits well and I liked the color, but the sleeves are slightly long, and the fabric is slightly sheer. read more

But I come here often, never had an issue finding something and if I had a question someone usually spends the time to answer it. The value is the same as any other and the updated selections are nice to see for maybe possible purchase. My only complaint are the people who drive in this parking lot it is horrible. read more

Very disappointed with the service at Macy's. One of the employees was rude and unethical instead of helping, there were passive aggressive comments. Will not go back there again. It is clear that there is a team within the team. The clothes were lying on the floor, respectively dirty, no price tags, workers with with dissatisfied faces, and I also heard from people that they saw a rat running among the clothes. read more

The real reason I award this Macy's such high marks for this location is due to one person, the manager who singlehandedly fixed multiple customer issues I encountered on that faithful day and even beyond that day: 1) skeleton crew working that day he came out to cover 2) piss poor service by an employee, which he also handled superbly 3) late hour I arrived at store but he did not rush me out the door but instead took the time to finish the transaction right 4) fixed discrepancy and personally shipped my item when wrong 5) great attitude and work ethic 6) took initative to correct problem vs. that other "lazy" manager If it was not for him, I never would come back again and Macy's would have lost out on several significant revenue purchases. Macys used to be a great department store. What happened? Customer service is about non existent. When you ask for them to check availability they tell you to call the stores yourself. And guess what? No one will be able to help you because they are all alone on an entire floor helping someone. And this is an consistent pattern at all the local ma y stores. At your service counters aren't much better. They hair you feel as if they are doing you a huge favor to return things. I like some of the bargains and I use my card for points which is good. This Macy's is getting one star. It's not for the store which is beautiful. It's not for the merchandise, which is a great selection. It's for the horribly rude staff members. First we went to the men's department and we're trying to buy something and the salesman answered the phone and proceeded to discuss suits with the person on the phone. Do you have to wait on the customer who is there before taking the phone call? I say yes especially with something as detailed as suits! On we moved to the ladies department and we got a woman who had the flu! She actually said out loud "I have the flu. I shouldn't even be here". Then go the hell home! I tried to look around for someone else to wait on us but there was no one as is usual for Macy's. They never have enough staff! Needless to say I won't be returning to this Macy's! Errg. I have liked Macy's in the past, and will still shop here, but I must stay, I see a troubling downward slide. Here's what I see: - The store is getting messier. Lots of the clothing just looks like it's been handled, tried on, wrinkled, on the wrong rack, etc. (How does Kohl's manage to do this better than Macy's?) - Are some of the higher-end brands disappearing? They seem to be, especially in the shoe section. - You need coupons or you're leaving big savings on the table. (To the credit of some nice associates, they will often have extra coupons they'll tell me about, then give me, which is very nice.) - Can I find an associate? Please take my money. This Macy's is probably my favorite in the city since it has a personal shopper and a great selection of merchandise. Prices can vary but you can find great bargains here if you look hard enough. Staff is very friendly and helpful. If they don't have the item you are looking for in the store then they will check online and if found will have it sent free of charge to your home. If you purchase online there is a minimum of $99.00 spend in order to get free shipping. I normally take advantage of their sales as well as coupons I get in the mail. They have a no hassle return policy and should you forget your card or receipt they can look it up. Also when you register your Macy's card and make a purchase all active coupons appear in an electronic window so you can have them available should you forget to bring them. They now added a new rewards program called Plenti which works in conjunction with other businesses. I signed up for the program but at this point none of their reciprocal businesses have anything that warrants my attention. This was designed to eliminate their $25.00 reward for achieving a certain spend. So while they do offer some quality lines here now and then you can find a great deal. Located as an anchor to South Hills Village mall it is not quite as difficult to park like Ross Park Mall however, it all depends upon your visit. read more

I've been shopping in this store since the 1970s when I was a kid -it has changed hands many times to different companies. I have been a huge fan of Macy's and over the last 20 years have purchased most of my wardrobe here. In the last few years it has become near impossible to put any type of outfit together as nothing goes together that is apparent and most of the store is an absolute disaster. The exception is women's dresses (I did not visit anything other than women's clothing today) which is very well taken care of. It was literally shameful the condition that I saw today -the final act section was so smashed together with missing pieces everywhere and tons of things on the floor. It was so crowded with clothes that you couldn't even sort through them. Sizes in the wrong places everywhere -no rhyme or reason. I have written reviews before begging to at the very least hire a team of professional organizers to quickly help you get it together and to form a plan for maintenance. Not sure what your buyers are buying either -it is just too hard to coordinate. Easier to just go to other women retailers that I can find clothes for work -I just can't do this anymore. This disaster is not a staffing issue or customers being sloppy issue -it is a buying issue and lack of planning for anything. If there is a store manager in town, might be helpful for them to try something new as you can't sell under the current circumstances. read more

It's hard for me to review businesses other than food establishments, maybe because I tend to do most of my shopping online at home. My daughter, a makeup newbie has been overwhelmed by the vast amount of brands, and products so I suggested she stop at the Macy's Cosmetics counter for ideas. Thankfully, we were almost immediately met by a helpful associate who steered us to Lisa. My daughter mentioned her newness at makeup, and what type of products she was in search of. Lisa was helpful, and patient, answering everything my daughter asked about. The shopping trip was relaxed, and my daughter found a product line (Bare Minerals) to be her first brand to look pretty, and polished for her job. Not a bad way to spend time on a Sunday. read more

This review is specifically for Daryl in the suit department. Our niece was getting married in TN and we were on the hunt for a nice suit. Daryl approached us to see if we needed help. At first we said no but after floundering around as he hadn't bought a suit in years, we said yes. Daryl was amazing ... we should have known. He himself was dressed impeccably. He fitted and suited the hubby up perfectly. We knew what color shirt he wanted to go with the suit , and Daryl picked the tie that pulled everything together. I would not even give it one star if that were an option. I ordered a vanity set on line with the notice that it would arrive before Christmas. Only to realize that it would not arrive and that the on line notice meant "maybe" it would arrive. I was asked didn't you read the fine print at the bottom?? After spending 2.5 hours on the phone the resolution was they would ship the set to Ross Park Mall and I could pick it up there. I leaned the next day that the manager lied and that it would still not be here. At this point I have spent 3.5 hours, have no gift and no satisfaction. Wish I had used Amazon. Went to Macy's because I needed a new suit for a wedding next week. Rick in the suit department was fantastic. He asked me what I wanted and found the perfect suit in the first shot. Being a man who doesn't particularly enjoy shopping, I was thrilled to get in and out of there with a new suit in under 30 minutes. And, when the coupon we had was expired, he had one on hand and ready to give us an extra 20% off. Would definitely go back. Came here just to get some furniture of the new house. Love their selection and the prices are competitive as well. They had a memorial day sale going on. 10% off sale price which was a great deal. They have plenty of sofa and sectionals to choose from. Probably the biggest selection I had seen in comparison to Levin's and Today's home. Plus their prices where far better. We ended ordering a tufted sofa with a dark blue fabric and nail print doing along the outside. It has a really classy look and is for our living room. I would like it if they had more swivel chairs to choose from. I only seen one swivel chair in the whole store and the fabric on the chair was displeasing. My favorite piece they carried was an Alessandro sectional that was power recline and had adjustable head rest. The cushions were very comfy along with the chaise that made for a great lounge. We were in the market for a sofa that we found in the weekly sale flyer. We found the store and shopped for a bit after being greeted by sales staff. The second floor was exclusively clearance items. Don't bother shopping the clearance items as that is a pseudonym for broken and highly damaged returned merchandise. After perusing clearance items, we asked about the item in the weekly ad. It turns out that they hadn't had that style in their store for months. We left the store very disappointed. The exterior store and parking lot are run down and unkempt. We got two flat tires from the debris strewn parking lot and had to replace both soon after. We know the damage came from that lot because our low air pressure light came on as we were leaving. Don't bother with this store or any of Macy's stores. It's not worth the hassle or the stock response you will receive from corporate if you write a comment on their website. read more

what you see on the floor isn't available and has to be ordered... they tell you 6-8 weeks... we are now going on 12 weeks for a couch! I called last week and was told the shipment had arrived and that I should get a call within a couple of days... It is a week later, no call. I call and now I am being told it is on back order and they will call me when it is available... no further information can be provided... then the sales rep follows up with, would you like me to cancel your order? what!?!? DSW was a great store to buy shoes, until I had a problem. I thought my issue was simple enough to resolve - I could not log in to the DSW site with my Rewards email address because it wasn't recognized, but couldn't create a new account because my email address was already in use. I called customer service, and my call was put into a queue, and I was told I would be waiting about 45 minutes. I tried again - this time by going to the store. The sales associate was only to happy to ring up my new shoe purchases, but made me step out of line when I asked her to help me with the issue so she could wait on other customers. The third time- I called customer service again and was put into a queue and this time was told I had an 87 minute wait. I opted to receive a call back instead of waiting. Guess what. I'm still waiting for over two hours now for a return phone call. Very poor customer service. They will happily take your money, but beware if you need assistance with anything else. read more

My husband and I experienced horrible service at Macy's Furniture Gallery. We went to the store in November 2013. We selected a beautiful leather sofa which was inclusive of 3 pieces. My husband and I made a change to have the chaise portion of the sofa be right-facing instead of left-facing, which we originally ordered. We called 1 day after ordering the original set. The salesperson stated that he could make the change. He did say that we would have to wait longer for it. We told him that that would be acceptable. We were confident that the change would happen as we requested and the salesperson assured. We were called a few weeks later and told our order was in. Imagine our surprise because the salesperson had told us we would have to wait to receive the right-facing chaise. When the piece came we had everything except the chaise. We accepted the partial delivery in anticipation of the other piece coming shortly. We called to find out when we would receive it. We found out that the piece was never ordered, and they didn't know when they would receive the chaise, but assured us they would do their best to find one. Fast forward to February...no chaise, no communication, but bills, in fact we were over billed. My husband spent two hours on the phone trying to straighten out that fiasco. We asked for a discount for our time and total incompetence on their part. The manager agreed to give us 20% off. The manager said she had called everywhere and just couldn't find the piece. We agreed to take the left-facing chaise to complete the set. They said it was in stock and gave us a delivery date. It finally came in Early March, wrong again! At this point, we are irate and contemplating demanding they come pick everything up. We finally received the piece yesterday, 5 months after ordering it. Horrible customer service! Too many deliveries, but the delivery men were outstanding. Never again. I would never purchase anything from this incompetent operation. read more
