The salesperson at the Macy's Meadowood Mall was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and friendly. The customer service & delivery departments were another story. Everyone "read from the same script " with no apparent concern for the customer. Two weeks in a row, after receiving a text & an email stating delivery time, I got a phone call apologizing but my couch would not be delivered on time. I had to pick another date. They agreed to a loner chair if I got the van, paid for it, & moved the chair by myself!! I'm still waiting for my couch!! read more

My boyfriend needed to buy a suit. I don't know how he's made it into his 30s without owning one! Knowing that it's not going to get a lot of use, he didn't want to have to pay more than $450 for it. I asked my male colleagues where he should go, and the two most popular answers were Macy's and Dillards. I was leaning more towards Dillards because of its reputation as a fancier store, but I also am easily swayed by the promise of mall food court boba tea. So off to Macy's we went on a random Saturday afternoon! 90 minutes later, we left with a suit jacket, suit pants, a shirt and a tie. My boyfriend is a very regular sized dude, so the suit in his size fit him perfectly. Slim cut, nice wool fabric. We sought out and received excellent help from three different sales people, who were each well-dressed in suits. I appreciated their willingness to be roped in to choosing colors and giving feedback. There wasn't even a holiday sale going on, but everything was extremely reasonably priced and many items were on sale. The total price including tax was only $318! So I highly recommend the men's Macy's for buying suits. Three stars, though, because of the hassle of having the men's and women's Macy's in separate places in the mall. read more

This review is in regards to the Michael Kors section in the Women's Macy's. When I needed a new purse, I used to drive into Roseville and browse the Michael Kors in the Nut Tree Outlet mall. I have now found that the new person in charge of the Michael Kors section,Carson, in the Women's Macy's is not only extremely personable but also very knowledgeable on the sales, new items and current inventory. Carson is now my go-to person when I am in need of a new purse or wallet. I usually buy one from him, two to three times a year and go back just to say hello. Carson always makes me feel like a valued customer even when I come into the mall looking one step above homeless. So, if you are in the market for anything Michael Kors look Carson to assist you! He's not a salesman, so he's not making a commission from your purchases, which is too bad, because he'd make a killing. read more

On 23 Jan I took my 83yr old mother to buy new shoes. There were 6 representatives in the shoe department and zero knew how to use the Brannock device. 1 clerk handed it to her and stood there doing nothing. He then got another clerk to assist who kneeled down and put it on the floor but admitted he didn't know how to read it. I went to 4 others congregating at the cash register in the shoe department and they said they didn't know how either. Macy's had consistently been my go to store when I need customer service. This was completely disappointing. If you want an example of good customer service at a shoe store go to Beck's Shoes in same mall where we spent $170 on shoes with the most helpful clerk I'd ever met. read more

Had a great experience here and it was thanks to Leidy the sales associate that we dealt with. We had just come from Men's Warehouse where we left after a miserable interaction with their rental manager. Leidy went out of her way to help my son choose just the right suit and shirt. Once that was taken care of, she personally walked us to the shoe department where she helped us get just the right pair of shoes to go with the suit. She went above and beyond to help get sizes even though she doesn't work in that department. My son left completely outfitted and at an amazing price. I side-hustle for Door Dash and received call for pickup at Macy's. I went to customer service stand that said "online orders" but was told I was at wrong spot - and needed to go to their Men's store, way down into the mall. I attempted to find it but never could, and ended up canceling the order. I wouldn't trust an online order with this Macy's, and if you can even get your stuff delivered, it's going to take a good while and be expensive. Skip Macys, they have dropped all high end brands, Hudson Jeans, Joes jeans etc. the people who work there are miserable and you literally cannot find anyone to check you if you actually find something to buy. So sad this Macys use to be the go to in town. read more

Okay, I'll admit that I am a clothes horse. I'm not sure where the term came from but I have no doubt that I am of the breed! I'm a single mom with two gorgeous teenage daughters. Of course, because they are my kids, they are into clothes as well. I guess that makes them clothes foals. lol!I don't have a lot of money to spend on their clothes so we buy lots of used things, however, when we're shopping for stylish and new Macy's is the place! The selection of stylish garments here is unbelievable! I can't imagine having such a nice store like this right here in Reno! They have some amazing deals (up to 90% off) in the clearance section upstairs and in the Backstage area as well. Quite often you can get an even bigger discount when you use your Macy's credit card. You can try on as many things as you want without a salesperson counting how many items you're bringing in. They take returns, no questions asked even on clearance items! I also love the cosmetics department, especially Estee Lauder. There are so many helpful employees that work here. Macy's is my favorite! read more

My experiences at the Women's Macy Store in Reno the past year has been nothing but exceptional. When making purchases I've come across sales associates who have gone above and beyond to help me find the perfect item. When doing a return and having lost the tags on some items, the customer service was pleasant, helpful and quick at looking up my transaction history and promptly doing my return. Some items were purchased in another state, regardless it wasn't a problem. I just came from the Macy's in Washington DC City Center where I experienced some of the worst customer service. I hate malls and avoid them at all costs. I think I come to Meadowood once every 2 or 3 years, kicking and screaming. Recently the Irishman decided he needed to stock up on good quality clothing (hard to find in his small village in Co. Cork) before he went home, so here we were. It was late, so he had 40 minutes to speedwalk through the men's section to shop and try on clothes. Of course, Levi's jeans were on top of his list, so $200 later, I think he had enough pairs of jeans to keep him happy for a good few years. Gulp. The good news is that there was some kind of promotion that gave him back $40 in "Macy's cash" for a future purchase the following week. He couldn't use it because he was flying back to Ireland in a few days, so he handed the coupons over to me. I was able to use it to purchase housewares with no problem. YAY. read more

First time here was 10/31/14. I love Macy's! I always find amazing deals! They always seem to have great selections and amazing prices especially during the weekends: $20 off $50 or $10 off any $25 purchase! : Don't worry about parking because there is TONS of it! Came here to look for an outfit as I was in town for the weekend and needed a CUTE outfit! Instantly walk in and the store is so nice and organized, Variety of options on their clearance racks. I rarely see any staff when I come in but it really depends on the day, some staff will help and ask if you are finding everything OK and some just do their job and keep it pushing. I love the jewelry selection especially the ones that are for sale! I was never a big fan of Macy's in my past but I learned if you shop right and go on to their clearance racks you can find a lot of good stuff for amazing prices. Shoe selections are a hit and miss! You have to have patience and look very deep and carefully because you can find some really good deals! Let me remind you that these are named brand clothing; man can you say GOOD deal! Some Macy's that I go to has their clothes all on the floor and clothes scattered everywhere but I just don't see this when I come to this location. I used to go to Macy's ALL the time. It was a great place for great prices. It still may be, but currently I don't really shop much anymore. That whole retail therapy went out with the 90's. Having kids can do that to you. So there are times when we go back in...and just recently we had that kind of time. We needed some dishes to replace our original set we got as newly weds. My son got that incomplete set when he moved out. So we went up and not much has changed over the years. Except for maybe the people they hire to take care of you. I remember service used to be soo good back in the day. But getting service like that today is such an anomaly everywhere, not just at Macy's. Either way, this is still a good place to get higher end items for your household. We almost bought outer dishes here....but it just didn't work out that way his time. read more

Did you know you get an additional 11% off just for being an out of towner shopping in a Macy's store? Ayup. Just head on down to the Gift Wrap area and they'll jot down your identification and present you with a sale scan code. The sales girl ringing me up that told me about it happened to have a 15% store coupon from the local newspaper that she scanned in for me so I didn't have to go downstairs and wait on the line for the 11%. The store was also having a 30% off sale. 30% off plus an additional 15%, assuaged any guilt I had about buying five dresses at once. read more

This is for the Guy's Macy's. It is my husband's first choice for shopping. The layout is by brand which is good since he shops by brand. Staff here are generally helpful even though not numerous. Comfy couches are available for significant others to wait while the guy is in the fitting room. And they have free WiFi so I can write my positive review on my iPod in comfort. :-) read more

I was calling today to inquire about a refund for an item I had done presale for. The number listed for their location did not work, so I did go in a circle to get the number that was needed. Once I got the number and spoke to the women in the Men's department, she was very rude. She seemed to love to a argue with me and be assertive about some of the questions I had asked. Although she did go out of her way to look something up for me, she did not transfer me to the manager when I asked her too, "Because she would tell me the same thing" even though I was trying to speak to the manger about how the sales rep was treating me. I needed a formal winter coat and I had looked ALL over town and hated everything. I wandered into Macy's for their 50% off winter jackets sale and within 10 minutes had found 2 jackets I couldn't live without. Granted, they were probably the only two NOT on the 50% off sale, but so is my luck. That said, they were on a slight sale and only $160 each. Sales staff wasn't around while I was shopping but I didn't need help so that wasn't an issue. Paid for them quickly and they held onto them while I shopped in the mall. I would say the Macy's was once a great department store. In November, I used my Macy's card to buy a pair of slippers for my partner. Ordered them on line because they did not have his size in stock. Within three months, the slippers dissolved soles cracked and falling off, cracked uppers, a total mess. We took the slippers to our local store today to get a refund. The clerks/managers could pull up the transaction on my Macy's credit card but could to authorize a refund. "It has been more than 90 days." is what they said, and I in response, but these are a pair of shoes! We were told to contact the manufacturer, which is ironically named Weather guard or something close. No satisfaction and they actually wanted us to take the wrecked shoes with us, at which point my partner threw them in the air in protest. Amazlylng poor customer service and corporate policy! Visited the Reno store yesterday, shopping for swimwear. My friend, also a mature woman and I were disappointed that no dressing rooms were open. We finally made some choices and brought them home to try on. Also, some larger women were shopping alongside us and found no choices whatsoever in their sizes. I bought $70 booties 10 days ago from Macy's. I wore them Friday for the first time and within hours they made my feet swell and started to give me sores on my ankles. I tried to return them and was 100% turned down because they had been worn. That has to be the worst customer service practice I've ever experienced. I showed her the sores on my ankles and she said "Sorry, nothing I can do." I didn't even want my money back, a gift card would have been completely okay, and I would've even paid some sort of fee for them being worn. my wife purchased some items in the men's dept then when she was wrapping one of the items and She did not notice the tag that needs to be removed with a special gun was Left on !!! She called and was passed around to several different extensions and then no body answered! I just called them and asked for the executive office extension at 4044and sorry no one available the auto attendant said!! This is the Meadowood mall Macy's Reno location! This is very frustrating as we have to drive back and we do not live close!!! They must know that it will just continue to get tougher on the large retail places if they are not on their A game and can handle problems that do come up. I had visited Men's Macy's (12/15) to return and exchange a couple of items I recently purchased online. There was only one associate at the register at the customer service line and when it came to my turn, I presented two items of which one would needed to be returned (a pair of pants that didn't arrive after receiving a confirmation email of delivery in which I called Macy's customer service. Customer service then arranged for a redelivery in which I did receive but due to the color choice and fabric type the item needed to be returned) and a pair of shoes that needed to be exchanged for a different size. For the shoes, the associate promptly declined to help because that's a shoe department issue (again, this line clearly states on the wall "returns and exchange" among other services such as "paying a bill"). OK, so I then asked the associate if she knew if the shoe department would be able to reorder the shoes for the same price I had paid for when I paid online, the associate said they the shoe department would only know that answer. Hmm, got it. You're too busy. Then it came to the transaction of the return. She asked me to insert the card I had used to make the purchase and then she said a refund had been placed on 12/11 (I placed the order on 12/6, received a confirmation email of delivery on 12/10 in which I didn't get, and actually received redelivery on 12/14). I was confused because I didn't return it for a refund when I called customer service, I simply asked for a redelivery because of not receiving the pants the first time. I felt rushed by the associate so I gave her the pair of pants. The lady at the shoe department was unable to help me with the exchange because she did not know how to do it and that she was still learning. That, I understand and that I respect because she verbally explained to me the reason why she couldn't help me. She referred me to another associate at the Men's Suits dept, who was more able to help me. As I was waiting in line to be helped, I realized that this whole refund scenario with the pants must be a mistake because I never initiated a refund on 12/11 and I did not see any funds go back into my account, yet I have given the pants to the lady at the register. I didn't feel right about it so I went back to the customer service line to get this situated. Oh what hell that was gonna be! I approached the same lady and nicely said that I was here earlier with a pair of pants for a return...she replies rudely, "What pants?!" I then reminded her that I was there not too long ago to return a pair of pants and that I had questions regarding the refund. She then rudely said that refunds take days to appear in my account. She didn't take the time to listen to why I was confused and she didn't professionally explain to me why my situation with the return is the way it was. I then asked for the pair of pants back because I didn't want to deal with her for she was treating me with hostility. When I asked for the pants back, she implied loudly that I was being dishonest about the refund and just wanting the pants back. That pissed me off because she ASSUMED that. I kept my composure though. She huffed and puffed to the metal locker by the register, unlocked it and frantically shoved the pair of pants into a bag. This person showed no signs of professionalism during my whole interaction with her...so I asked for her manager's name...oh! Did that hit a nerve?! As soon as she heard the word 'manager,' she flipped a switch! She was huffing and puffing and was yelling at me, pointing her fingers saying, "oh! You want a manager! Go! She's right there by the door! Go!" WTF?! What kind of customer service is that?! Last straw! I then asked the associate for her name and damn! She was huffing and puffing and wailing her arms all over her body to get her name badge, almost lifting her sweater in the process because that's how wild she was acting and to top it all off, she was scratching her head so much from her frustrations at me that I thought she was gonna grab some of her hair! Man! As soon I found out her name, I left to return to the Men's Suits department to finish my objective. The worst 3 minute interaction with a Macy's ASSociate ever! I eventually got the help I needed for the shoes as well as assistance from management regarding my experience. As for the lady at customer service...Phoenix, you are not fit for your position. If you are unable to handle stress and still complete your work with some kind of decent customer service, then you should find a new line of work...maybe something that doesn't involve people...just sayin. 'Four stars for a store that should be a five star store because I couldn't find customer service very easily. I wandered around for at least five minutes before I found a customer service person and he happened to be working for another company within Macy's. However, though unfamiliar with the store, he was able to direct me to the floor I needed to be on to find what I was looking for. I was looking for a belt, and the selection was limited to a small, 4 X 6 area on the second floor. The store is very shiny and clean and has the faint chemical smell of new clothing and perfume. The lighting is perfect, not too bright, just right. The atmosphere is airy, casual and relaxed. Macy's prices are often higher than other stores (like Kohl's), but the brands they carry have a reputation for being of higher quality. I know that my $50 belt is well made and will last me a long time. read more

If you make a return to Macy's, under no circumstances should you accept one of their dysfunctional gift cards as payment. The scratch strip does not work, and the numbers you will need to use the card are illegible. Macy's technology is stuck in the 20th Century, and despite there being a QR code on the card, the company has no way of allowing its use online. You must make a trip to a store in order to make use of a Macy's gift card. read more

Rude sales lady. Refused to allow me more than 6 pieces in the dressing room. This was in the discount area of the store. Funny, in the designer sections they let me take as much as I want. I had been shopping for over an hour without one person asking if I needed assistance or being able to find the fitting room. When I finally figured out where it was this woman stopped me and said "no more than 6 items". She was very abrupt, didn't offer to help or keep extra items for me. I told her that I didn't think I would try them on then and she said "that's fine" and walked off. Asked to speak to a manager, nobody came to talk to me. Very poor customer service. I won't be back. Like most people I seldom visit the brick and mortar store when I can order online. My recent visit to Macy's convinced me there is still value to be found the old fashion way. The iron I bought...and returned...on amazon was on sale and cheaper at Macy's. So was the higher end one I bought. There were a number of sales people available who were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I was so impressed I opened a Macy's account. Haven't had one of those on over 20 years. I love the app, I love the clothing selection, I love their holidays items, I love their store layout, and I especially like their discounted section on the second floor of the women's store. Don't love what you bought? Well, you're in luck because their return policy is incredibly generous and pretty much all returns can be handled at their customer service desk, which is unfortunately located next to the Coach purse section (my biggest weakness. Well played, Macy's). The service is usually great as well. I've gone into the store looking nice and I've gone in looking like a train wreck, and I'm always treated kindly. For Christmas I got a gift card to Macy's! I was really excited! I decided I needed some bedding, so I went to the men's Macy's upstairs to home goods. It was really busy today, more so than usual. I made my way through the crowd to the escalators. In this store there is one up on one side of the store, and the down is on the opposite side. When I got to the escalator, it was blocked off and said please use elevator. Ok.. Where is that located??? Looking around I saw one employee walking around looking at her scanning clothes device. Not watching where she was walking, ran into me. I asked her where the elevator was, and age pointed me in the right direction. Once I found the elevator there was one employee in it and they saw me coming to get in. I said "can you please hold that?" and instead of waiting for me closed the door! Really?!? So I waited, it came back down with about 10 people in it and up I went. (It's only up one floor and the whole time I did not see a sign for stairs! Once I got to the second floor it was much less busy up here. No one asked me if I needed any help, which I guess I didn't... But anyways. I quickly found what I was looking for and spotted a young man at a register. His name tag said Anthony. I put my stuff on the counter. He explained he could not ring me up because he had just clocked out for lunch, and it he stays he gets in trouble. Ok... So I'm standing there staring at him, "is there someone that can ring me up if you have to leave?" I asked. He said "yah, let me find someone. Please come with me." So I started to follow him. We found an older lady at another register, hooray I can pay for my stuff... Nope.. He asked her if she could ring me up. He response " nope, I'm going on break." Then she starts yelling at him because he clocked out and there was not anyone at the register he left. Anthony apologized and we kept hunting for someone to check me out. Ridiculous right? Finally, we came to a register with an older lady and young guy were just standing there talking. She too started yelling at him that he was clocked out and not manning his post. Then she starts to leave her register with me standing right in front of her!!! I'm starting to get mad! Is this some kind of joke?? I just want to pay for my items?!? Anthony stopped her and told her that she needed to ring me up! Finally!!! The whole time I was helped she sat and complained to the other employee all the problems there were with this store! Yikes!!! Hopefully I just caught them on a bad day, but the whole store was a disaster mess, and the employees were all pissed off. Hopefully the management gets there stuff together. read more
