5/22/23 So this place is pretty amazing seeing it has everything work gear related from pants, shirts, socks, insoles, hardhats, safety gear, etc. Shoes as seen in pic. I started a new job and requires a safety toe shoe or boot. Whatever your preference is, I have boots but they're a heavy duty as I call them boat anchor's and I needed more of a tennis shoe style and they carry tons of stuff they even had Reebok work shoes with the composite toe. I was able to find a pair that fit well and get a pair of the Insoles for foot fatigue. Service was excellent to they help me find the shoes and sizes that I needed and even let me try the insoles to see how I feel and I also got the shoes on sale so that worked out as well. Service is awful, the worst I have ever encountered, I am never returning, the customer rep was not attentive and looked unapproachable!

I went to buy a pair of work boots and I received the worst treatment of my life, it was hostile and I will not be returning ever.

I ordered 2 pairs of carhartt cargo shorts. They processed shipping sending 1 pair usps and the second pair ups. Strange right. I received the pair by ups no problem. When the other pair was delivered by usps it was not my cargo shorts. It was a big coat and the invoice was for a person in Texas. Called customer service and they emailed me a label to return the item. I had to repackage and drive to the postoffice to send the item back. Would not send my second pair of shorts until they received the return. After they received the return still no cargo shorts. Called customer service and said it take more time to send my shorts. Nothing happened. Fortunately I paid through PayPal so filed a complaint about the lack of getting my stuff. Then Work World emailed that they were shipping the second pair of shorts. In the interim PayPal gave me a refund. Then Work World canceled the new shipment. Then they are asking PayPal for me to return the refund. These people at Work World are ridiculous. Customer service is the worst ever anywhere. Do your self a favor and never shop with this company. They take your order and your money but you may never get what you ordered and paid for. After going to Boot Barn to attempt to buy some boots, I went to Work World because the customer service at Boot Barn was nonexistent. I was greeted at Work World by a younger lady and told her I was looking to buy some boots. I tried on a few different pairs of boots and finally decided on some. They had a good selection of boots depending on what you're looking for. I wish they had more sizes (size 7-1/2 - 8) but they did have a size on a boot I settled for. A pair of moc toe Thorogoods. The prices weren't too bad. They lady there was very helpful. I would buy boots there again. Forget Boot Barn unless I guess you like to be left alone. read more

I get free boots through work every year from another local store but mine wore out sooner than expected this year. I thought this would be a great excuse to try another shop and company. The employee was great in trying to answer my questions as they have an entire wall of boots and my questions were as vague as "Are any of them lighter than the others?" After focusing on a composite toe instead of steel and making sure they were slip resistant my choices were narrowed down. I went with a pair of Bates boots that look more military issue than industrial focused. The employee also pointed out a great pair of insoles and let me take them out of the package and slide them into the shoe to get a true fit test. After a bit of walking around in the store I committed to them. I've only been wearing them for about a week at work now but they are great. Definitely tall as they fall mid-calf, but lighter weight than others I have worn as well as being squishy under my foot with the Timberland insole. I will definitely come back if I need work specific items as the sale was quick and easy and the customer service was great. read more

I recently changed employers and for my newest job, I needed some coveralls. I've never been to Work World before but my friend recommended this place to find all the clothing I'll need. I walked into the store and could generally see where everything was by section. I did two loops throughout the store, but wasn't too sure where the coveralls were. I asked Ted, the store manager, for some assistance and he was very helpful. When he led me to the location of the coveralls (immediate right side of the store, under the Dickie's section), he gave me more information of the materials, 100% cotton versus the cotton/polyester mix. He recommended the 100% Cotton because it's breathable material and with this warm weather it'll feel cooler than the cotton/poly mix. Their smallest size was a Medium so after trying on of them on, it was just a tad too big and Ted said that he could order a Small for me. Since I needed a coverall for work sooner than when the Small would arrive, I bought the 100% Cotton Medium coveralls. He also mentioned if I were to put it through the washer and dryer, it may shrink. As a first timer, I felt welcomed and with Ted's assistance I was well informed and right at home. About a week ago, I submitted a message in regards to a pair of pants I had purchased online (Carhartt Mens Firm Duck Double-Front Work Dungaree Color: Brown Waist: 36 Inseam: 32), in comparison to a previous pair we purchased the waist was significantly smaller and uncomfortable. My husband did wear them a couple times and therefore I had washed them. The color even seemed to bleed somewhat more than other pairs we have purchased. After submitting the message I received a phone call from a woman in CA the same day! She was amazing, unfortunately I can't remember her name. She assured me an effortless exchange despite having been worn, washed and tagless. She informed me the store was closed but intended on opening within the week and stated she would have the Local store manager contact me to let me know when it opens and we could come in. Ted contacted me within a few days, HOWEVER, the first call I missed and my voicemail box is full. HE CALLED BACK another day and that alone meant so much. Ted let me know I could come in anytime for the exchange. He was great! Upon arrival we were greeted by two younger guys (I believe one was named Alex) and even though we came in about 15 minutes prior to closing they we're very helpful and even joked with us. We upgraded knee pads while we were there as well and couldn't be happier with our purchase. During these trying times this company addressed this issue immediately and flawlessly. I came to help my husband look for some beefy sweatshirts. We ended up not buying as he could not find any that he liked. The store is laid out well with the merchandise grouped by function. It is mostly men's wear, but I wasn't really looking for women's clothing. I like that the products are well made of hefty material. This IS work wear after all. It is also not just outdoorsy clothing, but also chef and kitchen clothing, nursing scrubs, and assorted shirts, pants and accessories for just about any occupation that is outside of a corner office. We did not interact with the staff at all, but we were greeted upon entering. When I need boots for work I usually go here first and last. I keep hoping beyond hope that a place will open with amazing prices and something that will be comfortable to my dainty princess and the pea type of feet. Instead I just have to go back and settle for what I know works. Timberlands that stay comfortable for at least 2 years. It just sucks that they cost so darn much. Anyway, every time I have been in, the customer service has been quality and as helpful as possible. They are always patient while I am trying to go through my different boots. I have also purchased a few different Carhart items to keep me protected from the elements. They seem to have a pretty good selection of work clothing, maybe even the best selection in town. Lots of different work gear and apparel even some cheesy looking hard hats are out for purchase. Prices are pretty much MSRP as far as I could tell. So no "killer savings" here, but you get what you pay for, service and the convenience of shopping in your home town from people who have a little better knowledge of the items than the nearest walmart. I can't say much in regards to their merchandise which I only looked at their woman shoes. And for that they have a small collection of maybe 12 shoes for women. So not much to offer women in the "work world." My low rating is due to their poor customer service. I have only been there twice but each time was the same bad experience with different people. I want to first say that the store is small and they seem like they get very few people in the store. When there are people in the store the employees just seem to try to avoid the customers by not offering much help. They are constantly trying to hide so they can go on their phones and when they are out they talk unprofessionally about stuff like the store gossip. I will not be going back. I found Red Wing has a better selection of shoes and a lot better customer service. read more

My Woman went to work world to get steel toe boots as newly required at her work. There were NO shoe sales pros at al, only a cashier. What most folks don't understand is: Toed work boots are NOT to be fitted the same as a regular shoe. One might get away w/a 1/2 size difference { larger } in a regular " soft " shoe but NOT a steel or composite shoe. A full 1 size increase is indicated in a shoe of this type. Not knowing this both my Lady AND her friend got shoes that looked good and felt good { at the time of the " try on " }. Once they were put into service however the picture changed drastically, including quite a bit of pain. I took her to a real shoe store and we remedied the problem, but if work world would have had a pro on hand instead of just using the " WalMart " merchandising model we could have saved the pain.... If one needs work shoes there are other places not as far out Virginia St that are far superior..... read more

The selection of steel toed shoes was great, but that wasn't what we were looking for. There wasn't much in the way of work shoes without steel toes. Also the selection of lined coverall bibs was lacking, there weren't varying sizes and the staff seemed more concerned with whatever teeny-bopper gossip was going on rather than helping the customers in the store. First of all hands down goes to them For customer service... they really take care of there customers they make u feel like family!! Just yesterday I took my boots in because the bottom of the outsole had a big crack right across each side and the stitching was coming off, sadly I was out of the 90 day warranty the main boss there checked my transactions with them and notice I was a regular customer where I buy all my summer and winter work clothes. He told me he usually just gives a 15-20% off on the other pair of boots when out of warranty but because of the reason I'm a regular there he told me to get another pair of boots just as long as I didn't go over the price of the boots I had purchased witch was 149.99, I just had to pay the taxes on the other pair I choose witch it was some carharts boots! Work world rocks. I've been coming to this store for years now and have yet to be disappointed. The store is always well kept and has a great selection of work wear (mainly men's). I'd recommend it for the selection and prices alone. Additionally, the owner knows how to keep a business going and please his customers. They were out of a size vest I wanted and he ordered it for me with his next shipment then called me personally when it came in. A few weeks later I purchased several flannel shirts from the store and despite following the washing instructions, both shirts shrunk at least one size. Instead of hassling me and causing an ordeal, the gentleman at the front desk allowed me to choose two new shirts in a size larger and let me go on my happy way.
