Some nice selection of items and the sales are pretty good also. You have to check prices and "sales" sometimes their "sale" price is regular price at any other store but they just try to make it sound like you are getting a good deal when you are really not. I did a return for Amazon here and also grabbed a few items while I was there for my kids. Kohls is always so clean, great customer service and they make returns quick and convenient. Their prices are always great and I always find great deals on clearance racks in the kids sections. I love that they have Sephora here too- it's a great addition for girlies who need to get skin care or makeup items. read more

Stopped in to do an Amazon return and decided I needed to do a little shopping, but I didn't receive my 20% off coupon on my Amazon receipt. The clerk cut it off and just stared at me! I was so taken aback by her behavior and attitude, I didn't question it; I left the store. I should mention that I usually make a payment of about $300 a month to Kohl's because my balance is always over $1000 based on the shopping I do there for my family and especially my granddaughters. My shopping is to the point at Kohl's that when I do get a mailer with a coupon, it's always 30% off. So I guess they didn't want me to do some shopping today. I guess they have plenty of shoppers to come in and support their business However, the return clerks cheeky attitude is not my idea of their usual exemplary customer service. read more

We had a huge list of items for our Christmas shopping At Kohls. We filled up 2 carts after going from one department to the next. A wonderful employee helped distract our 8 year old while we got a bunch of his gifts. She took that gift cart to the back and then my daughter went with her and checked those items out really fast as my grandson and I looked around. We received huge discounts and tons of Kohl's cash. Totally recommend the value and quality products!! Thank you so much. After we left we both placed our Kohl's online orders for the items that were available online only. This was my first time I ever went to this location. When I was a child in Chicago the nearest grocery store to my home was Kohl's! It's funny because I wonder how if it was the same family!? It's a funny coincidence! Last Sunday they had a huge sale of good brands so I ended up getting a ton of cute outfits to get me through the rest of the summer and into fall. When I got home I noticed that they hadn't removed the security tag, super annoying! One thing that's just really bad is that ALL dressing rooms are not in use and mirrors are scarce! It turned out that I didn't like one shirt so I took that back too. Customer service is always a wait whichever store you go to... but this lady working was spending a lot of her time answering the phone. Last come, first serve. What great customer service! I found two items at the Sparks store that was not in my size. The terrific employees verified that the Kohl's Reno West store had them both in my size. As I was going out of town I drove over. Indeed both items were in my size. I tried them on again to make sure they fit. Then I simply took them to the cashier. She was very nice and friendly. I find this review to be a fun one to write. Because by praising this Kohls I am actually dogging the other two locations in the area. So Kudos to the Manager at this location. When I think of Kohls I think, good prices, lots of sales and Kohls cash. I also think of VERY unorganized racks and shelves. Sometimes to the point that I will stop shopping and vacate the premises. The Sparks and South Reno Kohls are typically always pretty messy, clothing strewn all over and out of order, items hard to find etc., My husband and I went to the Reno Kohls off of MaeAnne last weekend and my MIND WAS BLOWN. As we browsed the men's career apparel I stopped to look at button up shirt. They were ALL in order. ALL coordinated. ALL on the shelf. What was this that I was seeing? Organization at Kohls???? I seriously had to pause for a second and make sure I knew where I was. I was so impressed and excited to see something so well organized at this location. This made me look around even more and I noticed that the entire store looked like this. I really have to give a shout out to whoever the Manager is at this location for making sure they motivate their team to do such a great job with clean up/putting away and presentation. Four stars instead of five because as always they need more cashiers, but I'm willing to bet that's a corporate issue relating the payroll budgets. If you prefer to shop in an organized store and not have to spend hours searching between misplaced items for something I highly suggest visiting this location. read more

Came here to purchase clothes for my son. We had a family emergency that called us to town and my son didn't have enough warm clothes. There was not much in stock but needed clothes due to the weather. We shopped and had about 8 items for him to try on. We searched for a dressing room and they were not open. So we asked an employee if there was a dressing room. She said they are closed due to high theft. She told us we could ask the manager if she would open one. We asked. And even let the manager know we are sadly here in town for a family emergency but she would not open a room for us to try them on. I suggest heading elsewhere if you need clothing. They said this is across all stores so why bother going and shopping here in person?!?! Save your money for a different department store that will at least let you try on their clothes! Do better Kohl's or you'll be facing bankruptcy soon if you aren't already. read more

Kohl's had (almost) everything I still needed for my kitchen that I wasn't finding elsewhere!! I think this was my first time at Kohl's, so I'm not sure if they're always having sales or if it was just because of the holiday season. Either way, it was greatly appreciated! The greeting card section is always pretty well stocked compared to the one by my house. The cashiers I have come across have always been so friendly. I made a special trip to Kohl's today to buy a FitBit. I'd looked online first and knew they sold them, but once I got to the store I wasn't sure where to find them. I checked the watch section (found a different brand there), wandered to the back of the store through bed and bath, through the kitchen/small appliance area and finally found the first employee... stocking shoes. He told me there was a display at the back of the store just past where I'd been. Yeah! 20 minutes after I'd started I found them.....in a locked case. Kohl's fits a nice niche in the marketplace. Higher quality than Walmart and Target but less than Macy's and such. Kind of like a replacement for Mervyn's. What is to like: There is a good variety of sizes and colors in the clothing sections (majority of the store). Good selection in kitchen, bath, fragrance, and shoes too. Sales and hidden sales are fun. Customer Service desk is knowledgeable and helpful. Friendly people like Shenandoah and cashiers like Kyle make the shopping experience better. What is not: Service on the floor. Workers looking down as they hurry by hoping to not be disturbed by THE CUSTOMER. Pricing is only clear on around 85% of the merchandise. I am often taking 4 or 5 trips to the kiosk to find out what today's price actually is. The store suffers from mid-day blues. The store is only straightened and neat at night when they are closed, during the day it gets disheveled and hard to shop during busy times. An "alive at five" or midday effort to straighten the store out while there are actually customers shopping would go a long way. What is a joke: Online ordering. They offer online orders of certain items to complete your ensemble or for additional items not available in every store. There is even a kiosk. For example they don't stock elongated toilet seat covers in the store. So, I found one from their in-house brand, Sonoma, I ordered one. It took 10 days to come in. 10 days in this day and age of online competition is STONE AGE. Then I find out there is a distribution center in Los Angeles. There is no way to track the order once it is placed other than to call a call center that is staffed with hard to understand people. It took about 5 minutes for them to tell you that it is still inside the window of 1 to 14 days and MAY still be there on time. This item was relatively inexpensive but if I were ordering something expensive and they could not tell me where it was or when it would be in I would demand a refund. Kohl's you are missing the boat on this one. read more

There is so much stuff here with sale prices constantly changing on electronic signage (and honestly, some of it not that well-priced) that if you don't leave with something clutched in your hand salesclerks eye you suspiciously. I love a good bargain, but shopping at Kohl's is no bargain. There are so many things to sift through, sales offers, specials, buy one get one free, etc. that the whole chain's motto seems to be "confuse the shopper!" Add to that "house designers," including Jennifer Lopez designs (Jenny From The Block gold culottes!) , Chaps by Ralph Lauren, that girl from the reality show- oh yeah, Lauren Conrad, and Juicy couture (officially brand-dead), and you won't exactly be blown away. I will say the Vera Wang line is consistently special and is about the only reason other than semi-annual lingerie sales that I ever go to this store. About ten years ago Kohl's was a fun place to shop but in my estimation the quantity far outweighs the quality now. Frankly, a lot of the stuff looks like it came straight from Kmart. I've never seen so much pleather and gaudy costume jewelry in one place (the accessories department). That being said, this store is neat and pleasantly maintained. It's not their fault that the store smells like low-end perfume redolent of cotton candy and Yankee Candles, nor that Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, and other Top 40 pop chanteuses fill the air with their caterwauling. Visited our local Khols today and watched 2 young punks ride their skate boards through the store, circling it multiple times. Not one Khols employee asked them to get off the skate boards nor ask them two leave. When approached by two different customers to get off the boards one of them said an employee said it was ok. I went to the front and asked them to tell the kids to get off their skate boards. They acted as if they did not know the kids were there...really...you could hear them! This is a serious safety issue and should be addressed immediately. Upon leaving your store I was harassed by both kids all the way to my car. Way to go Kohls... way to protect your customers and associates. read more

Kohl's in general is good store to start your clothes shopping hunt. The prices are moderate and if you keep an eye on the mail, they send coupons at least once a month, so there is not really a need to pay full price for anything. They always have a clearance section in each dept, but it is most often than not a hot mess. The customer service is on point. Although this location is the closest to where I live, it is sadly the least impressive location compared to the other two in Reno. There are usually not a lot of people when I go shopping here, so you would think that the customer service would be really good. However, I will see quite a few of the employees just standing about talking to each other, without so much a glance or greeting to me when I come in. They are also scarce when you need to ask them for help, especially in the home or shoe department. Speaking of which, some of their departments are usually in disarray, especially the shoe department and some areas of the clothing department. A lot of non-clearance items will end up mixed in with clearance sections, too. I think I will stick to shopping here during the holidays, when their sales are actually good. Or drive to the other two locations if I have to. If anything, their kiosk in store allows for free shipping, which was really nice and delivered my item pretty fast, but the machine itself tends to lag. read more

This Kohl's and their employees deserve props. When my daughter and I entered the store there weren't any available carts. One of the Employees noticed this and looked for us around the store and brought us a cart as soon as he could secure one , saving me and my daughter from carrying my 35 lb Granddaughter around the store. The cashier was super friendly too and made pleasant chat as she rang us up. As we were leaving , the same employee that got us the cart ran up to us and offered to help us out to our car (since we had purchased a lot of stuff! and had a ton of bags) and we accepted his help. He was very friendly and talked with us as he pushed the cart. I've been to a few different Kohl's stores and must say this one is distinguished from the rest by their outstanding employees and customer service! read more

If I could select 0 stars I would. The worst customer service by the manager Kenny. I was ready to purchase a pair of earrings for $250, I got to the register to pay for them and noticed the back of one of the earrings was significantly bigger then the other, the girl at the register called the manager over, he comes by walks past the registers to go to talk two employees over idk what but some time passes and the girl from the register calls him over again and he says he will be there then he proceeds to make an announcement on the intercom and then I'm thinking ok now he's coming, nah this man goes back to the other employee he was talking to and continues a conversation as he's making eye contact with me like he knows I'm waiting and I'm waiting with my three kids at that who at this point are just as done as I am. I'm looking at the girl from the register and her face looked as confused as mine as to why he hasn't come up yet. Anyways I walked out. This was my first and last time stepping foot in this particular Kohls as I've never experienced this kind of crap service in the last 15 years I've been a member of Kohls. read more

Kohl's is one of those stores that relies on inflated "regular" prices to make you think you're getting SUCH a good deal during their almost daily sales. The sale prices are usually OK, not really great deals, and I won't buy anything online anymore because the quality is often very bad and the sizing is so variable. However I was still going into the store from time to time. The last time I was there, I had the following highly insulting interactions with store personnel. In the bra department it was extremely disorganized. I literally could not find anything because I would turn around and could not find my way back to something I JUST SAW. Also most of the items were unmarked or were marked incorrectly. When I asked for help (I was looking for a 36 C the sales girl (they seem to like to hire teenagers there) told me it would OF COURSE be difficult to find anything because anything over a 34 band size is SUCH an "unusual" size. Oddly enough, the MEDIAN size for bras in the USA is a 34 DD cup - which means one band size up is not unusual. Also, it has been known for almost 15 years now that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size - most often in a B cup when they should be in a DD cup. So telling me that a 36C is an "unusual" size just shows that you don't stock enough properly sized bras for real women. Then, when trying to check out it was Senior Discount day. The girl at the checkout tried to tell me it was the wrong day - but I had checked (I ALWAYS check) before even leaving to go to the store. I had to make her call over a manager who informed her that she was wrong. The cashier was very rude about it all. Then there was confusion about some tops I had. They had come off a particular rack in the store and there were other tops the exact same size (and other sizes in the same style) on that rack. She actually accused me of lying about where I had gotten the tops. Again, the manager had to intervene and sure enough, someone had put a whole bunch of these tops on the wrong rack - or someone had not updated the electronic price marker, either way they were priced differently on the rack than at the register. Even after the manager confirmed that I should get the price as marked on the rack they were on, the girl at the cash register was rude about having to give them to me for the price they were marked. While we're on the subject - those stupid "electronic" price markers they use all over the place. Half the time I can't even read them because you have to be able to look at them straight on or the text just disappears. There are tons of these things mounted well above eye-level that I just cant read at all. I'm not going to take a stack of clothes up front to find out how much they cost. These are inappropriate for use anywhere but on a floor rack, but they have them freakin' everywhere. Even WITH the electronic tags, they can't be bothered to properly update the tags. Often the tags are on the wrong racks so if you want an item on sale then you have to go hunting the actual item because the tag is on the wrong rack. This has been ubiquitous in the lingerie department. Not that I'll be shopping in the lingerie department given my "unusual" band size of 36. This was months ago. I am unlikely to ever set foot in a Kohl's again. I need to do some shopping tomorrow so I remembered my last trip to Kohl's and the poor quality of the last online order, hence I just got around to making this review. Searching for a purse, I had been to Macy's and had been discouraged by the prices. I had also been to JC Penny's and hadn't seen anything I liked. I was looking for a backpack purse in black or brown with a zipper. I decided my last chance would be Kohl's. Lucky for me, I found the perfect purse! Exactly what I was looking for and well made too. The zipper seems to be very sturdy and that's important to me as it's usually the first thing that breaks in cheap purses. The straps are also very sturdy. Another important aspect. The store wasn't very busy and I didn't have to wait to check out. It's a clean, well-lit store with ample parking. They have more than just purses, of course. It's a full department store and most of it is on sale. In fact, when I brought up the $55 purse, I expected to pay $55 for it, but it was on sale and I only paid $36. That was a nice surprise. read more

I am probably never coming back to this sephora again and if i do i will make sure to get help from someone else.... I went in for a shade match for the makeup by mario foundation which i have been excited to try out for the longest time now and i was disappointed!!!! I was approached by one of the employees (older women with glasses) she asked if I needed help and so she then proceeded to "shade match" me... I feel like her not wearing any makeup should have been my first red flag, and her not knowing anything about the product was the second red flag !!! She picked out 2 different shades for me that were not even close to my shade, undertone, etc etc...... The fact that this women swatched the shade from about my cheek bone down to around my jaw line left me speechless and she couldn't even manage to properly blend it.... All I am going to say is either I NEVER come back or I just find a different person to shade match me (someone who ACTUALLY KNOWS about makeup) read more

I think of Kohl's as Macy's~lite. They've got everything from clothes to jewelry to housewares on a lower price point. What Kohl's has is a brilliant marketing department. Every week I get a flyer with a mystery saving sticker. Just peal the sticker to reveal a 15% -30% savings. Usually 2 days later I get the circular with another coupon. While checking my email I usually find a $10 off coupon. On occasion I forget all of the above coupons and pay full price. But wait they give Kohl's cash based on the amount of purchase. So starts the vicious circle of going back serval times to take advantage of all the discounts. The good Nice staff. Fairly orderly floor plan. Great clearance section -- great for stocking stuffers. The not so good There is always a wait at checkouts. That's what I get for shopping at a place that excepts so many coupons. read more

Great menswear and great ready-to-wear ladies stuff marks Kohl's as one of my favorite corporate owned stores. I hate shopping, but every 3-4 months I drag myself over to Kohl's and am invariably happy with what I find. Prices are low, quality must be watched closely, but Lynne B is right, they'll make it cheap enough and pleasant enough to be worth the trip. I find lots of sleep and loungewear here too, the latter being my favorite type of clothing because, doncha know, lounging is the bomb! read more

This review is based on my experience with Gretchie. She was incredibly helpful in helping me find items in the store. I called and asked her to set them aside for my mother, who has a challenging time locating specific items in the store. She took the time to check the system for the items I requested, go to the floor and find them, and take them to customer service so my mom could pick them up. This is such a great level of service, I will be sure to give this Kohl's my business in the future! In general, I have noted that the store is clean and well-stocked and has very friendly staff. I feel like the service here is very hit or miss. On this visit, it was a miss. I went in to look at the Cinderella collect by Lauren Conrad. I was lucky to find it up front and center in the women's department. I found two items but only one in the size I was looking for. I attempted to talk to a sales associate to see about finding the correct size. There was no one to be found. I was going to try to ask the cashier but the line was 10 people deep. She was asking for backup but no one was coming to her rescue. I decided to skip a purchase today since the customer service just wasn't there at all. I think I'll just look online next time and skip the store. Also, don't ever pay full price for anything from this store. There are always coupons available online for in-store or online purchases. That makes the items a much more reasonable price. read more

The rating is strictly this store. As a whole, I like Kohls. I like the clothes, I like the selection, I like the price. But I do not like this store, and yet I find myself here frequently. The NW Reno location just always feels dingy compared to other locations I have been to, especially compared to the South Meadows store. The racks are never organized here. In the Men's section, looking for anything quickly is nearly impossible. You see a shirt you like, you grab the hanger with listed size, and boom: immediate letdown as the XL in your hand is actually a small. Last time I got in a small was likely 6th grade. And don't even think that looking in the clearance section will be an easy process...that place looks like a bomb went off. The service here is definitely subpar compared to other locations. Cashiers are unfriendly and really only hound you to signup for the crazy high interest store card. As a sales person I can appreciate needing to hit targets, but try and deliver on service and a positive experience before hitting me up for anything else. read more

I was really impressed by the great service and efficient work force at this Kohl's store. I came here the day after Christmas and expected a mad house. However, it was ordered chaos. The dressing rooms were clean, and the staff was extremely helpful. One worker even called another store for me to see if they had the item I was looking for. I only wish their jewelry department carried ring sizes smaller than a 7 in the store. If you want tinier you have to order online apparently. There were multiple cash registers open and the wait time was not long at all. This, combined with the amazing prices, made my shopping experience really enjoyable. I am often out and about with my sister shopping, the girl just can not sit still. What amazes me when looking around and not just this store but more, what a huge amount of UGLY women's clothing there is out there. But that being said my sister when going to Kohl's is looking for a specific item and she usually finds it at a very good price. I think she also gets discounts just for shopping there and that's can't be a bad thing. I do not know if the men's clothing is ugly or not since I never look at it. I have been wearing the same thing for ten years or so, yeah I look like a bum. But I at times look in the housewares department and again find some good stuff at great prices. We never have to wait long to check out and the folks working there are usually quite friendly. The only thing I am not too fond of is the lighting, too dim for me. I would be happy with just a bit more illumination, not glaring. Speaking of huge amounts of UGLY clothing, do you suppose it all gets sold? I just can not imagine it. read more

Every time I walk into this place it looks like it was just raided by looters. Merchandise is piled Every which Way and some of the clearance racks look like things were thrown from several feet away. It's true that there are Bargains to be had, but many of the so-called on sale items are priced at about what I can buy the same item for in another shop without having to feel like I've just been rummaging in the town dump. read more
