One of my favorite stores for so many years now! It is one of the main shopping stores in Salinas. They have men's, women's and children clothing here. They have shoes as well and so much more. They have great makeup counters, fragrance and jewelry counters. Great place to find gifts or to shop for yourself. We went right before Black Friday and there were so many deals with clothing up to 60% off, I had no idea they had an entire area behind the kids clothing with racks and racks of clothes at additional mark downs! Poor customer service in online pick up Department . Lazy customer service never have same policy twice . Sometimes you pick up online orders and need only ID . Today drove across town to pick up online order I did not get bar codes because it was a delivery order . Never got a message to pick up package until I went online to the app to look something up . Each and every time that I've had an occasion to visit the Salinas Macy's cosmetic section for purchases, I've always found the experience to be pleasant. I primarily visit Shiseido and Mac however, have been drawn to make purchases from the other vendors. The associates in this area project a supportive team spirit that in the end, provides a customer with a positive shopping experience. Example: During my latest visit, I purchased some Shiseido from a very product knowledgeable associate identified as "Jazmin." Moments after I left her counter, she must have noticed me looking around the (briefly) unattended "Mac" area for assistance. Rude staff at men's fragrance station. I bought Chanel from them on 10/19/2021 at around 7:30pm before closing. There was this lady working, extremely rude. I usually go to Macy's in Fremont, they always give me some samples of new fragrances for me to try, i try new fragrance every month, this lady did not like me asking for it. She first said they don't have any when I could see so many in her drawer, then finally she gave me three and later decided to take one back. I asked her how many ML are there in small bottle of Chanel($155) and bigger bottle($195) she couldn't explain. I don't know, she was just very rude, no customer service skills. They keep remodeling every department in this store but for some reason they don't touch their restrooms. Those restrooms are filthy! I had the best experience at a shopping mall! I visited the Macy's in Salinas for the very first time looking for my favorite brand name cosmetics. All of the clerks were extremely attentive even though they appeared to be short handed. I was especially grateful to Willie in the cowboy hat who looked and looked for a Shesiedo product that apparently was discontinued. He gave me a discount coupon because he knew I was disappointed. I checked myself there for a curbside pick up and after waiting in my car for 15 mins I went inside the store to customer service where the lady behind the counter (Nadine) was beyond rude and unprofessional. She was grabbing someone else's curbside that called the store to say she was waiting. So when Nadine was going to the back to grab the other curbside I asked her if she could grab mine as well as I was also waiting and she said no, slammed the door behind her but first saying "OH MY GOD" as she slammed the door behind her. I will not be shopping at this Macys location or in general. Take your money to Nordstrom instead!!! The manager needs a training in customer service as well. At no time was I offered an apology. Nadine clearly needs to not work in a customer face environment as she is beyond rude. When I asked who I could call to file a complaint they said customer service but I called and they said they don't take complaints over the phone. So they're liars as well. read more

Had a wonderful experience at Macy's Clinique makeup counter. I've been through a lot of different makeupsand Clinique seems to be my brand. I'm horrible when picking out lipstick, eye shadows, and foundations. So I walked up to the counter hoping this time I would get it right.I hear a friendly voice ask me if I need some help. I told him I'm looking for an everyday eye shadow natural but would give some pop to my blue eyes. He knew in seconds the right colors.primer 26 canvas light that I love!!! There's some really nice staff members, but I think the working environment for some employees may be overwhelming and too much, I've noticed. I do feel the way the store is organized may give some of the employees less motivation to work there, which may affect their working environment. Macy's has been getting worse in terms of organization/inventory. Everything is all over the place and not everything is where it is suppose to be. Like the petite section is not even in the petite section. It's really bad. Even I get headaches trying to shop and look for things. Macy's management team should start planning how to expand (3rd floor) or fix this issue because it feels overcrowded with mostly clothing. There's hardly any room for new collections. This macys store has lost its vibe. The feeling in here is one of a Ross store. Things are all disarray and doesn't even feel clean like a upscale department store. Its horrible how much its changed over the years. We went for a suit and couldn't even find a matching set. Nothing is organized and I understand macys can't help the way their customers act but the customers did not help the situation acting like its a free for all disrespecting everything. The poor employees need a raise with registers issues and equipment malfunctions. So sad. I'm not to happy with this Macy's it's very dirty, and unorganized. It carries small selects of items and only larger sizes of women clothes. Short staff so there is always a wait for help in all the departments and dressing rooms. The make-up corners are not any better the ladies are not very helpful and rude. I came to this macys to get my watch band adjusted since I only live 5 minutes away. This person at the jewelry department was very rude as soon as i went up to her. She said she couldnt help me because i didnt have a receipt. I was NOT trying to return my coach watch. However this was a gift to me and all the tags were still in tact. Then she throws the " I am the manager" card like if i asked. She couldnt provide me a written policy that stated her claim. Her name name is MARINA! I went to the macys in Del monte shopping center and they helped me right away, no questions asked!! I'm from LA, first time coming out here and this location was far from what other Macys store I've been. Let me start with the inventory, holy this place have so much stuff that there's not a lot of room to walk around and every corner is so busy with clothes in racks, tables and worst, on the floor. I'm not sure if I'm in the actual Macys store or warehouse. Second, with the holidays in the corner, I'm not sure if they forgot, but the store does not give a sense of holidays. The decorations are not balanced across the store, it does not feel warm or welcoming. The store is so dated that it needs an overhaul. Lastly, customer service team. As I walk around through the store trying to figure out what to buy, in time I needed assistance I cannot determine the difference between an employee and a customer. Employees does not have proper identification, couple times I've seen someone wearing platform slippers and outfit like she just got out of high school. There's not enough employees to assist even a couple customer, I had to wait about 20 mins to get the assistance I need. Employees are not friendly, they see customer seeking assistance and they walk away act like they didn't see you. This place needs a total overhaul of the store and the people BIG TIME! ‍ read more

I asked an associate some questions and if she could help do a return for me so I wasn't carrying a whole bunch of stuff everywhere and she said she would . Half way through the return she told me it was too many items and I needed to go return it somewhere else?? I was like why did you start the return in the first place if you can't finish it?? What an absolute disgusting pit of refuse has Macy's gotten their hands into, in Salinas, California? Macy's has always been one of those stores that you think "yeah, it's a very pricey, but it's Macy's with quality goods". Right? Well.... We went to the Salinas Macy's and upon entering we notice that the floors are concrete, you can see that the carpets have been ripped up. When we got to the back of the store we see why, the carpets that remain are terribly worn, stained, and ripping up in areas that could grab the hell of a clients shoe. The selection was abysmal, and many areas of the store looked disheveled and some areas looked more like somebody had hung up used clothes to sell as new. It was just a huge unorganized mess in many areas. I decide to use the bathroom and here's where it gets really bad... The mens restroom consists of 3 urinals with NO partitions between them, they are all full of urine, about 7 to 9 inches deep. The one stall is full of excrement and urine and has huge gaps in the privacy wall (is somebody expecting a show?). The entire restroom stinks of urine as if they keep using a urine filled mop to mop it out if anybody cleans it at all. This is a Macy's, a store that sells $80.00 ties. Do they really not have enough money to pay for a proper cleaning crew to come in at night and hose out the restroom and have enough money to build partitions between urinals to offer your guests a little privacy? I know this is Salinas and all, but you can't have a Macy's store in this condition, it only tarnishes your reputation as being considered a high end more upscale chain of stores. Clean it up or shut it down, this store is disgusting and not worthy of the Macy's name. I wouldn't even expect this run down of a store if it was a Sears, JCPenneys or even a Ross. read more

Macy's, A well known name in department stores and all over the world and is known for creating such holiday extravaganzas such as Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and 4th Of July Specials but if you haven't ever visited a Macy's store in your life you are truly missing out on an experience. My mom and I have been Macy's fans ever since we discovered the Monterey location and the Valley Fair location in Santa Clara and so when we became fans of the Salinas location we have never stopped visiting during each mall visit. And if you're looking for the greatest deals on anything from fashion to housewares and home decor this Macy's location is a great choice for anything you desire. And the staff is always willing and helpful when searching for the item you need. I can say that Macy's really is an awesome store and I can say they are better than any other department store in the world and I hope they keep improving and keep making the world happy and and proud with the amazing jobs the staff at the Salinas location does read more

Ok, I noticed a lot of bad reviews views on here but I have to say that our experience today was very good. I was there to return a dress that I bought on line that was too large, and I was assisted by Favi, she was very nice but I explained I could not find my receipt or packing slip for the life of me and all I did was try the dress on and I took it off. She said she'd be right back and when she got back she said the manager said the the dress was not re sellable, I said why and she explained that there was a mark in the back which was just a little bit of like white dust which one she dusted it came off and she said around the neck in the front was dirty. She was very nice but at that point the manager came and I explained to her that all I did was try the dress on and I did have my make up on and the only thing I could think of was it was my make up I had on and had I noticed it I would have cleaned the dress with them make up remover cloths I have and just touched it up because it wasn't major I didn't even notice. Well the manager named Anita was very sweet and she said no problem I gave her whatever information I have via my email as well as the screenshot from my phone & Anita was able to reverse the charge on my card and took the dress back. Her and Favi were very friendly and professional. We then ventured into men's wear and that's where we were shopping for some ties and a lovely young woman named Sonia came by and said I have some ties that are gonna be going on clearance and she brought to midside boxes out not too huge and we were able to look through home and find some gorgeous ties for an amazing price. We also bought some ties off the shelves that were great deals! Macy's does have some beautiful ties. We also love when we are able to get quality clothing for great prices. My husband is extremely picky about belts and we've been searching for months for the perfect belt and we were so happy to find one. It was a very nice reversible belt and very needed hahaha. I have to say checking out with a lovely young lady named Twinkle. Got to love that name!! She lived up to that name. She truly was a sweetheart & so pleasant making us feel like we need to come in to the store more often rather than online, very good customer service & great deals! Be back soon! read more

I always have good luck and service at this store. I am at the store at least twice a month. I purchase makeup at Estée Lauder and Clinique and always very happy with my shopping experience. I like the Benefit eye products also. Several times my shoe size wasn't there, so I ordered my size and they were great about having it sent to me. great service. Recently brought an outfit for hubby for a wedding and the slacks were too small. Went back and the sales associate helped me get a larger size by ordering it and having it mailed to me. Let's see, where to start. This store really needs to dial in their process when it comes to the shoe department. You have been selling shoes for as long as you've been in business, yet your "warehouse" seems to be organized by blind people. This last Sunday, I went to Macy's right after work, which was right at 7pm. Arrived at Macy's at 710pm, and knowing that they're just shy of an hour before closing, I went to the shoe department to ask for a pair of brown Clark's in size 9. The associate helping me was very kind and sweet, and happily obliged. However, it wasn't until a good 15 minutes (no exaggeration) until she came out to tell me that she couldn't figure out where the shoes were put because they weren't where they're supposed to be. Finally she comes out with a pair in 8.5 and 9.5 I figured I've waited this long, let me try them; nope. To make it easier, I just asked for the other style of Clark's in the same size. She mentioned she was new yet I reassured her that it's ok and if need be, I can grab a pair of pants or two while I wait. Unfortunately, my sizes weren't available, but I don't blame the store; it's the holiday's so I expect certain things to be gone. I got this done within 2-3 minutes. I head back to the shoe department, only to wait another 20 minutes. Finally the girl comes back to tell me they don't have any at all of that style shoe. It seriously took just shy of 50 minutes for me to stand around, waiting to purchase 1 or 2 pairs of shoes, only to find out after a long time waiting that 1 isn't available in my size, and the other isn't available at all! I knew what I wanted, I went straight over to buy what I wanted, and I walked out with nothing more than almost an hour of my time wasted after a 10 hour work day. Just terrible, terrible customer service. I felt like I was forcing employees into an awkward conversation when I asked a simple question regarding a product. Inventory is incredibly unorganized. The cologne and perfume section just felt dirty. I've had more pleasurable experience at local thrift stores (more organized, and kinder people). I'll share just one of many uncomfortable experiences from today while shopping for my boyfriends birthday gift: I was sent to a different register after purchasing a gift to have the magnetic tag removed since the girl helping me was having difficulty. Sure, I get it no problem. Once I got there, the girl at the other register said she couldn't help me since she is not usually at the register. She called her coworker to help remove the tag, and her peer just glanced and said "in a bit." Her and I both were uncomfortable with that comment since her peer had come over to remove a tag using the exact device I needed. We exchanged an uncomfortable look and she ended up helping me. It honestly felt like the 4 of the 5 employees I interacted with strongly disliked their responsibilities or were not trained properly. It looked like Macy's had an external team onsite to focus on these issues. I could tell because they were grouped in some sort of training. Recently purchased a pair of ladies' slacks. Worn them once and they immediately started pilling up in the crotch area plus the butt seam split on me. I attempted to return them to the store and was told that since they were NOT in saleable condition, and I didn't use my Macy's card, there was nothing they could or would do. I tried calling the corporate office in New York but have not heard back from them. When I tried to explain to the "manager", she kept telling me there was nothing the store could do. Why buy clothes from a store like Macy's if they're not going to stand behind their products. I WILL NEVER shop there again. read more

This is one of my favorite stores to shop at. Great variety of men's clothing and highest quality to choose from. I also love the huge selections in the home goods sections. Wonderful towels and bedding. And for your kitchen they have a zillion items for the master chef. Lilian upstairs was ridiculously slow on register I felt like I wanted to put my things down and not purchase anything. I was having to stand there for longer than 20 minutes while she was having side conversations with every customer she could, there is a time and place by all means.
