Very interesting store and layout. This has a feel of an older run down Macy's which is in dire need of repair. The ceiling tiles are either water damaged or missing in general in many departments. The store is smaller than the Roosevelt Field store so I feel the product selection reflects that. As for employees, like most stores in the area I feel like it is hit or miss. Sometimes you get that great employee that wants to help or you can easily get the employee that makes you feel like you are inconveniencing them by asking a question. I come here for the basics, but head to Roosevelt Field location if I want to shop. read more

Never going back to Macy's in green acres mall again. Cashier in children's department had no interest in helping me on 12/19 at 9:27am. When I asked about discounts if I used my card, the response was "I don't know" and then she SLOWLY proceeded to scan my items before she looked for a bag to place them in. Allowed a charge of $308 on my credit card, and I live at least 1000 miles away from New York, when I called the manager, he did not care, said file a police report and cancel my card. When my bank called there, they directed them to Macy's credit card division, to no avail, first of all I do not have a Macy's credit card, and second of all my bank was calling pertaining to the card issued by them. Obviously they don't care, don't listen, and will not train their associates on taking credit cards with verification. read more

Terrible customer service, especially the credit card. I was going on vacation for 4 weeks, wife wanted a swim suit. We have in the past shopped there a lot without a Macy's card. We bought the swim suit. Wife realized after we got home, it looked a bit dirty, so in a hand wash, cold water, it lost half its color, say what? hand wash cold water and the color came right out,,, a swim suit ? really what type of Chinese made junk would that be. Yes I know (credit card problem)?, well, the card they talked my wife into for a small discount on the suit. I told the lady, when she was getting it, we were going for a month right, well, the morons closed that months books the next day, billing us so by the time we got home we were 30 days late. Then for a 35 dollar swimsuit, (it was Chinese made junk on sale), a thirty dollar charge for late even though we returned the suit for being junk. Called they said yep and basically "that's the way it goes". I will never buy anything from Macy's again ever, if my wife suggests, they have a sale maybe we should see what they have, I will have to say to her , are you nuts, I hope they go bankrupt soon. read more

MAC counter - Priscilla is truly a gem! She did my makeup for my birthday and I felt completely confident in her skill level. She managed to do my makeup all while assisting other people with their requests. I couldn't believe it. Went with return merchant certificate a week ago with a balance of 217.00 spent 54.00 had the difference which was suppose to be printed and given back to but wasn't. We first time in this sort of confusion Bare in mind Green Acre boys Dept cashier had no clue what this was had to call a manager then a third because they couldn't understand this price of paper, it's like I made it myself... ughhhhhhh Anyways they give me back the original certificate and send me on my way saying I could use it, I should hv tried it back the same day, but bc they kept me there over an hour trying to figure out this merchandise return certificate I was exhausted and went home. We went back today to use the balance which is like 157 or so and OMG - they asked about some other receipt that I should hv gotten that day, from another cashier, who as well is lost abt this topic, sent us to human resource Tasha, 2nd floor green acre mall, who instruct us that this certificate is not valid and another 1 is in the mail and will come to us, I asked if when the new 1 comes will they know what to do and if we used it and another balance will that make use hv to wait on another 1 to come again Is this for real, are we living in a third world- so frustrated wanted to scream hard at everyone for they have no clue and made this a mess - like why so much untrained non professional called customer service the 800 number and they said I need the receipt from the first purchase where I used it Omg smh upset read more

This Macy's is by far one of the most unimpressively staffed for the size. Upon entering to pick up an online order I couldn't find an employee easily, no one could direct me to the correct place to pick up my order. After waiting for the employee who was helpful I was directed to the Macys on the opposite side of the mall. Macy's I still love you but step up your staffing game at this location!! read more

Absolutely horrendous. The worst service I've ever experienced at a MAC store/counter. No one offers to assist you, they ignore customers looking for help, and apparently, to even ask a question you need to stand on line...unlike any other makeup counter where some employees assist customers while others work the register. Horrible customer service...no one greets you. The only time you'll speak to a rep is when you're handing money over to them. I've been here three times in the last month to give them the benefit if the doubt, and each time it's been the same result. It's a shame being that this is the closest location to my home. Worst customer service, ever! Do not waste your time coming here. I walked into Macy's knowing exactly what I wanted from MAC. It took over 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that I was standing there. When I asked someone if I could be helped, she directed me to stand on "line" which had only one person standing there waiting to pay. I come to this Macy's once again for proximity purposes. On this visit I came for the bra sale that they were having buy one get one free. Recently I have been losing weight and decided it was time to treat my boulders to a nice treat. Shifting aimlessly through the racks it would have been nice if there were an associate that was knowledgeable in bras and that knew how to measure. After picking up a wide range of sizes I head to the fitting room. The fitting is pretty large but it is rare to find the attendant attending. I let myself in and search for a room that didn't have an explosion of clothes all over the place. After my failed attempt I decided to abortion this mission and head on home. If it weren't for the fact I can get shopkick points just for walking in I probably would avoid this location altogether. read more

I truly wonder how they make profits? It became a routine to come to the store pick up few items and......leave it behind, because it is no one by the register! Every time then you shop you have to run after the staff to ask for help. Very often they act like you are anoying them or openly tell you that it is their turn to take a break. Calling to the store, with some questions, which is not covered by the website and the answering service, also didn't lead to success: no one picks up the phone. Very unpleasant experience. Terrible customer service from the company!!! I purchased a $500 suitcase from Macy's. Was promised it was strong and durable. Without even entering the airport the suitcase wheel broke. I had to travel with a missing wheel and full suitcase. I went to Macy's to return the item but the store refused to exchange or return the item even though it was just purchased a week prior and was within MACYS 1yr return policy. PAT and TASHA (luggage department) were the managers that we worked with and were not understanding to the circumstance and kept referring to the manufacturer. We were told to contact the manufacturer on our own and return it on our own, which is inconveniencing from Macy's. It was not expressed during the purchase, on the receipt, nor in the luggage department that if damaged cannot return to Macy's EVEN if it's within the 1YR RECEIPT. Terrible policy and customer service. Why have a receipt with a 1yr return policy? I would never return to Macy's again due to this lack of information and the inconvenience of traveling with the suitcase to and from Macy's with its damaged wheel!!! read more

The shoe department could use some improvements. Shoes were everywhere and the staff seemed overwhelmed. I felt like a bother.

I always come here for my Clinique purchases (only because it's near me). Every time I come, the service sucks. Their staff will stand and stare at me but not help me. I finally thought I hit the jackpot the other day when I got a clerk to help me after only a five minute wait, only to get home and have the new items I purchased be used already. I HATE GOING TO THE FRAGRANCE COUNTER AT MACY'S! You are followed around by a host of people giving you their opinion on scents. Which is usually bad, especially if you are speaking with a vendor of a brand who doesn't disclose who they are by covering up their badge! I had to tell one young lady to please give me some space and time so that I can appreciate the scent alone without bias. She complied, but as soon as she walked away, here comes another. They also judge you by what you are wearing. A while back I walked through and sampled coach, I thought it was nice and asked about a gift set. A rep replied "that is $90" after throughly looking me over. I guess I didn't dress to her liking.... but I didn't ask her the price! I always buy newer scents from Macys, but online. Less hassle and they take returns! I didn't buy then, went online to a competitor and found a set for $48.00. I did return a few months later and blessed the nice sales rep who complied with my request for space and purchased five sets plus two 3.4 fl oz. bottles of perfume. She was happy. Never judge a book by its cover. You never know who a person can be. Macy's please respect the experience of enjoying the scents at the fragrance counter. Have your staff stop calling people mommy, sweetheart and Diva (smh). You will get more people in the store and less returns. read more

I told them that I already had a Macy's credit card and they assured me that my new Amex account would be merged with my old account. After receiving two separate bills was informed by customer service that my account would not be merged. This is not a game. I have witnesses that heard me ask them over 3 times are they sure my accounts would be merged and every time they said yes. They are playing with people lives. I will be taking legal action ! I Love Macy's. You can't beat it with the coupons if you have a card with them. The worst problem at the Macy's in Fair Oaks, VA has consistently been the heat. It has been so SO hot every time I am in there. I shop with friends who also complain of the heat. I ask the sales people who are always stripped down to a short sleeve T shirt if they are hot and they always answer yes. I was told yesterday by an employee that the air/heat system is not on premises and that it is set via remote from an out of state office. Macy's should be listening. I heard at least five other shoppers complaining of the heat in the store. It is not condusive to shopping. I would spend more time = more money if I could breathe and remain at a normal body temp. I don't think I will return until it's cooler outside, maybe then it will be cooler. So many other places to shop. I don't need to be this uncomfortable. read more

This is the worst Macy's I have ever been to. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Spent exactly 35 min trying to pay for an item, ended up leaving. First I'm at one register while one cashier is helping a customer the other one was just standing there. Finally she left and asked the other cashier is there is some other place I can pay.
